RobinJI
Hi guys, I'm off to Oxford Brookes uni in a months time to do the 3rd year of my degree. Being a country bumpkin used to living in the middle of nowhere in rural Somerset, what do I need to know about the area? I'm sure there's a few of you from that sort of area, what's the run-down, the good, bad and ugly points of place. Cheers, Robin.
Luke Dunstan
Avoid Blackbird Leys, Barton and Rose Hill. Other than that, it's an amazing city!

There are quite a lot of good riding spots too, just a lot of riding in-between them.
RobinJI
Cheers for the info guys, I've just been to look at a place on Merewood Avenue, which looked pretty ideal, as I'll be based on the Wheatley campus for uni stuff, and this is about half way between there and town, and on the bus route/by the park and ride for late night buses home. Although it's not that far from lots of roads called 'barton ...' which I'm guessing isn't good from what you guys have said? Where were you for the first two years? I took my first 2 years as a foundation degree at Bridgwater College.

Tomm
One thing to look out for, Oxford has a strict dress code. Blue blazer, a shirt (no tie), light chinos, deck shoes with no socks. Otherwise you'll get laughed at by toffs.
