Hey guys merry christmas everybody! :D

So I got a new frame yesterday (yes we celebrate christmas on the 24th) and I wan't to measure the Wheelbase. I've seen the guide on tartybikes and when I do the same the difference between the WB on tarty and mine, is BIG! The wheelbase differ 3 cm. WIth the same fork... :o

You just measure from the rear dropout to the front one? That's correct right? If so the wheelbase is not correct on tarty :o

Are you measuring with the same fork as tarty do? The offset of forks could be different and change the measure of WB

Wheels straight & inline? Measure between the centres of the axles (qr skewers/bolts).

No!! Your wheelbase is measured from where your wheel is, if your wheel is out how are you gonna know where it is?

Centre (middle / half way through) each axle (most central part of the wheel)

Your bike IS built up with a headset right?

Ah okej give me 10 seconds the measure it up now with the wheels on.

Since the geo was soo off, I measured it from the end of the dropout...

Yes it is.

Update sort of.

Even shorter with the wheels on... haha

Also depends on if your chain has stretched loads, using a split link blah blah etc x

Yes I know, it's brand new.

Either way, that's why I measured it from the end of the dropout from the start, to know the longest wheelbase "possible" if that makes sence? :)

The travel you get inside a drop out is going to make no difference to how your bike rides. Just build it up and ride the thing.

Actually it will, if there's a 20mm area of adjustment, that's the difference in the chainstays between a GU Typhoon and an Orange Zero.

Have the back end as short as you can.
