Me too actually, more of a long term plan, 5 or 6 years time i might join after ive got some experience under my belt. Thinking of joining as an engineer.

im more interested on the RAF lifestyle, what commitments and sacrifices(family life, accomodation, etc)

If you are thinking of joining as an engineer then it might be worth talking directly with the RAF before applying to university as they can help you with sponsorship/subsidies which will always come in handy at uni. A friend of mine (well a friend of a friend) is doing just this and gets some financial help from the RAF (he is studying at UMIST and is doing officer training in the RAF).
