  1. Its an echo tensioner. Im not sure if they are available as an after market product, so you may have to get a different tensioner. The heatsink one looks good
  2. I have to agree when I first started riding there were alot more riders riding trials. But since then alot of them have quit for bmx. I think this is because they found mastering the basics of trials hard, so they stopped for bmx which only takes a few days to learn to jump and then its easyer to progress quickly.
  3. I was just browsing another topic when I saw a post about trials these days being about distances and trying to get an extra few inches when gapping. Well I was just wondering what everyone thinks? Should trials be about trying to go huge and doing whatever it takes to get those extra inches.. or Should it be more about getting your riding to "flow" and look smooth, Maybe trying to ride a line (several objects in a row) rather than just one huge object? Personally I think that people who ride stock (not all of them) tend to be more into the smooth than the mod riders. Any views on this post here as Im quite interested in what everyone else thinks. cheers tom
  4. other than that it was alrite pretty good for your first, how long have u been riding? editing was also alrite. Although as previously mensioned the camera wasnt great quality. tom
  5. To be honest a Zoo isnt very unique quite a few people have them. The T-comp crack alot because people use them for street. They mostly seem to crack in the same place, between the top of the seat stay and the brake mount. tom
  6. I think most people using mavics use the D521 (I think its 721 now) they are a little thin for modern frames which is why they arent used as much any more, because setting the brake up us stupidly hard or impossible. They were great rims on the older frames but by todays standard are a little thin. Ronnies are good just dont grind them alot or they turn into cheese
  7. could i see some screenshots please. how long is the vid (does it not say or am i being stupid?)

    Drop

especially off something that big, you should wear one all the time on your bike anyway. Nice drop though looked pretty smooth.
  9. One day about 2 years ago me and a freind got really bored during a summer holiday, we were about 13 at the time and used to ride around 'exploring the area'. But on this day we had run out of places to explore, so we stopped outside a church where I had seen some people hopping around on bikes before. The freind I was with has a brother who has riden most disaplins of bike. I suddenly thought about it and asked my freind if he knew how we could get started. We were soon pulling endos and trying to rock onto the back wheel. I rode trials for a few months after that on a mod before getting bored. I sold my mod and didnt ride trials for ages. Around 2 months ago I brought a base ta26 and started riding again. I havnt looked back since. Im lovin it tom
  10. Try getting a hacksaw cutting a groove into each bolt, then put a screw driver in at an angle towards one end of the groove. Now smash it round with a hammer. this is what i did when i rounded the bolt on my chain tensioner and it worked a treat. tom
  11. the page opens but it asks me for your password
  12. It just asks me for your password
  13. penetrating oils and a rubber mallet
  14. How is the engagement on the hope xc hub? I am on a budget and am not sure if I should buy an xc, or save and get one of the deng freehubs. I am currently running single speed and have around 110 pounds although by the end of the month I should have about 170. I am thinking of getting the hub built onto a ronnie as I have heard my frame (base ta26) cannot take any of the 40mm+ rims. all help apreciated. tom.
  15. the toxsin spec wise but the vario may be more to your personal preference.
  16. vario is a bit more "used" but I think looking at the current prices the vario will go for less. Also the toxsin is dual disk which you may not get on with if you side hop to the left
  17. Nice I would go for it as previously mentioned a good "individual" frame seems to have a resonable spec, fine for a beginer resale I would agree at 200 maybe a tiny bit more. tom
  18. personaly im a fan of the GU as it just looks quite different (apart from the Ko bikes frame) and I think when built up it looks the sex.
  19. My freind rides a t-vee and hes alrite but he does not progress to quickly. Looking at your budget I would say that the t-vee is the only new mod you could get. Maybe try and strech to a t-bird. As for stock you could get a saracen mad http://www.bikes4trials.com/products.php?p...ials/Jump_Bikes which is not to bad, I hear. As for second hand bikes just try and get someone who nos a bit about trials bikes to give you a hand looking at specs etc. and avoid anything that is cracked. p.s sorry about the link im not sure how to make it a single word hyperlink
  20. I have read alot of topics on disk brakes and alot of people recomend the avid bb7 disk. Is it really better than a hydraulic? I currently have a hs33 on the front but want to upgrade to a disk, Preferably with good modulation before the bite. Would I be better off getting the avid or a hope mono trial (or somthing similar to it) help apreciated tom
  21. advantages and disadvantages http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....c=72405&hl=
  22. I am from a mountain bike background and started riding a mod bike. I was alright at it i supose but it took a while to learn things as its all different, because the bike felt completly different to any other bike I had riden. Then recently I switched to stock and have progressed alot quicker than on my mod. I think this is because it is similar to the other bike I ride. I have also recently had a go on a couple of my freinds mods and did not like them. Also some people find it easier than others to swap between bikes. If I were you I would try and get along to a ride somewhere and try both size of bikes, then decide which suits you best.
  23. hello welcome to the forum. I think you can get a saracen stock new in your budget althogh you could get a better speced bike second hand, so I would have a look in the for sale section. However if your from canada shipping will be a problem, so you could also look in your area. As for the Mod or Stock question as you are from a mountain biking bacground and ride mostly street I would recommend a stock, as they are more suited to street than the more pure trials style Mods.
