  1. How did you learn to fly heli's? I really want to get into heli's. As for the car, what I usually start with is cv joints and ti turnbuckles.rods.
  2. Yeah, Lace up the whole wheel and tension it as well. THen if they're too long, try some shorter ones or go 4x. You can't tell if they're too long by only lacing 1/4 of the wheel or 8 spokes.
  3. Did you use the DT Swiss calculater? IF so it should be correct. Just incase you can double check at DT Swiss' web site. www.DTSwiss.com
  4. Welcome to the trials community. Trials is is a great sport, I hope that you get into it fully and stick with it, we need as many riders as we can get. I would say try to hook up with some riders in your area, and try out some of their bikes and get a little better idea of what you want in a bike. Then start looking for one to purches. Good luck, Matt.
  5. Here's a link to an american music tour. A lot of great bands, sounds like it's right up your alley. It should give you some ideas. http://www.buzzgrinder.com/2006/vans-warpe...ne-up&page=
  6. If you buy a gyro it comes with everything that you need to install it. The plate that you are talking about, comes with all gyro's weather you use it or not. The plate is installed under the headset cup, you need to remove the top headset cup then place the gyro tab plate then reinstall your headset cup. If you already have a gyro, and don't have the tab plate, i'm not sure that you can just buy the plate alone. Matt.
  7. You should quit trials NOW! You give us all a bad name. No one wants you on this board! You suck, throw your bike away and take up fruitbooting/rollerblading. GO AWAY!

    Mac Help

Ok, another mac question. I have a G5 desktop, and I am haveing problems with my iTunes. Everytime I start playing songs my whole computer freezes up, nothing works, I have to hold the power button in until it restarts. This has happened to me alot, I have called apple and talked to ther tech guys about it, they told me to try reinstalling iTunes, which I did and it fixed it for about a week. Then it happened again, and I called again they said to check the software updates which I keep up on, then the said that I should try reinstalling Tiger, because they said that may be it didn't install fully when I upgraded from panther, so I did and it helped for a couple of weeks, then back to the problem. So it hasn't happened for a while until today. While trying to fix it today I tryed checking for software updates, their were none, then I went to disk utility and repaired my disk premissions hoping that would help, so far nothing is working. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Thanks for all the help, Matt.

    Mac Help

Tomm, What I did was, for instance with final cut, I acquired a dmg file then opened it on my desktop and installed all the different steps that were in the dmg. I did not drag anything into applications or anywhere else. Everything installed correctly, but instead of throwing away the dmg I just dragged it into the hard drive. Was there an easier way to install this? Should I have draged it to applications? With how I installed it can I throw away the dmg? I know this is someone elses post, sorry for hijacking it. Thanks for the help, Matt.
  10. That was a great thing to do. Just what we need, a bad reputation for trials. We need to piss off all other riders so they hate all trials riders, so we can get nomore people getting into this sport. Good Job,, and thanks for helping the trials movement.

    Mac Help

Whenever I have downloaded a dmg file, I installed the program and after it was installed I dragged the dmg file to the mac harddrive, and I have never had the icon apppear. But what Nick Carter said sounds like it would work, and if that infact works, it would be better because it will use less disk space. Matt.
  12. I did the same thing in my car. My head unit had a cd changer plug, so I got the cd changer cable for the head unit and got what sounds like the same cable you got, then I pluged that cable into the changer cable. That worked great for me. You should look to see if you have a cd changer plug and try that. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you. Matt.
  13. \ I fully agree with you. I just didn't want to see someone have to spend more money, or think that topping off fluids was the answer all the time. Yes topping off will turn off the brake light, unless you have been riding around with the emergenccy brake on. Their is a sensor in the resivor bottle that indicates when the brake fluid is low, when this happens it triggers the brake light to turn on, for all that wern't sure why the light is on. Those are the only two reasons the light will come on, low fluid or e-brake is on. Sounds like we have talked this topic to death and all is understood with everyone, am I worng? Matt.
  14. Just pull the freehub off and clean it off with a rag, then use a very light lube like tri flow or a thin wet chain lube and that is all you will needto do, especially if it's only a year old. King suggest a thicker lube, but it makes your freehub paws stick therefore making your hub skip. I had the same problem, then I cleaned it and used fresh lube and have never had that problem again, and I haven't touvhed my hub in 2 years, it's working fine. Try this first before pulling everything apart fully, and or replacing parts.
  15. Of you guys read in the first post, he said that the last time he had it serviced that the mechanic said that the had only about 6000 km left on his pads and should have them replaced. When the light comes on it can be because the hand brake is on or the fluid is low. Also when the pads are running low it pushes the pistons out more to compensate for the low pads, therefore sucking morefluid into the lines making the resivore lower. When the fluid is low, not to the point that it is so low to have the light on all the time, but when going around turns for instance, it will uncover the sensor to light up the brake light. Most cars don't have brake pad warning sensors to indicate that you have low pads, unless you have some wickedly expensive car, so you need to be smart and use your brake light as a warning light. I have also seen many cars with people that have destroryed there calipers because of not replacing pads when nessary, maybe it's stupid americans or just old people. I just was saying to be carefull because it's not worth the moneyy to fix. Matt.
  16. Personally, I would NOT just fill the brake fluid up. The reason that the brake light comes on is to let you know when your brake pads are low, near the point of there not being any pad left just backings. You can fill it up for a quick fix, if the light is bothering you. Don't forget that your pads are very low, and need replacing very very soon, because if you don't replace them quickly it will wear to the point that it will destroy your rotors, and will cost you more to fix. You will then need to replace the rotors/ pads, and possibly the calipers if the backings wear enough or heat up enough it will destory the pistions. If you replace the pads and turn the rotors now or very soon, you will save tons of money. To do a brake job it should only take about 1 to 1.5 hours. I was a mechanic for toyota for many years and have seen it happen many times, because people just filled the brake fluid up. Just beware. Matt.
  17. Hey dude, Great vid. You pull some big moves. The editing was really good too. I also liked the steadyness of the cameraman. Keep them comming. Matt.
  18. I have ridden both brakes. I used to love maggies, until I tried a friends v brake setup. Now I have xtr v's, xt levers, and plaz crv pads. My brakes have never worked better. I will never go back to magura brakes again. Just get some sticky pads and a grind on your rim, and they will work better then you have ever felt.
  19. Oooh I feel completely stupid. It's been awhile since I have looked at anything monty, like 3.5 years or so. Thanks though for setting me straight. I still say go for the burnt orange. Matt.
  20. Yup, exactly. The fitting is a magura hose holder. It holds the hose so you can push the fitting into the hose without the hose folding or slipping. I believe that you can also just buy the hose clamp seperatly from the bleed kit. Matt.
  21. I would paint it a burnt orange, like fall leaves. Have you painted a Ti frame? The only reason I ask is that I think that most paints won't stick to Ti. I believe that it starts flaking off pretty quickly. Although I maybe wrong. Matt.
  22. One thing I found that helped me with sidehopping is: Always look at where you want your bike to go. Never look down at the ground or your bike, just keep your eyes fixed on the spot that you want to land your bike. If you already know all the steps to make the sidehop, and can do little ones, then when you go to do bigger ones, you put your feet down or hit your frame or something, your not looking at the right spot. When you are looking at a spot when making a move on your bike, your bike and body will follow your eyes to that spot. Good luck, hope this helped and works for you. Matt.
  23. The old monty tires are 25" vs. 26". Therefore, if it's one of those, it will not fit on any other frame then monty. I believe that the newer monty wheels are all 26". If it's going on a monty, it should fit without a problem.
  24. Hey guys, A little while ago I started messing around with editing. I started with premiere pro that someone gave me a copy of. It worked fine for everything that I would ever do. Then I bought a Mac, and youcan't use the software, so I acquired final cut pro. THe only thing that I dont like about it is, you can't use mp3 songs in it. You need to convert them to aicc or aifc or something like that. Anyways Mac software is so much easier to use than any windows software. If anyone has any questions about Mac stuff let me know, I'm pretty sure I can help with most. For all the Mac users I can let you know where to get FCP for free.
  25. I know that it is football. I added /soccer for all the stupid americans that might see it and think of the american football.
