Have you ridden damp grass on anything other that black chilli?
Na, your exactly right. I was "blowing them out". Too fast into them and overshooting. I've not ridden that trail in nearly 8months so it wasn't as fresh in my mind.
I'll try and get out this weekend and blast it again.
Cheers for watching btw
Really easy to find. Park at Clachan of campsie and head up behind the row of shite shops. Get to the car park and cross the road up the hill. Can't miss the grass path. It's a pretty steep climb, mostly pushing. As you can see though it's a good bit of fast DH.
Ive never got to my last gear and thought, f**k me, I need two more! Whatever you enjoy spending your money on eh..
Noob alert. Cycled/pushed up my favorite hill last night, utilising my fork lock out system. Bombed it back down. Once I was at the bottom, I noticed it was still locked out. I have no idea how I didn't notice as its pretty flippin rough and fast. Its probably why I can't move my neck today!
I chest-strap-Go-pro'd the run. Ill try and post it here soon. Bet you can't wait..
A load of drag? My chain rolls over the jockey wheel on the bottom and slips through the top guide without touching it. Hardly what I would call drag. The loss of clattering and banging would be nice with a clutch mech, I have to agree.
Its just funny when people say, "since running my skinny-fat chain ring ive only dropped the chain once - its awesome".
Guess how many times I've dropped my chain? f**king zero! Because chain guides are better!
Haha, dont you start now. I am very tempted. If I can find a cheapish direct mount thick-thin for the XOs I might try it. I can still remember putting a chain guide on for the first time and not having to give a toss about worrying about dropping a chain anymore. One of the best feelings ever Good old 48 tooth MRP guide
So finally got round to taking some pictures.
Changes include, 32s, XOs, tyres (to something not massively wide but nobbly), pedals, saddle, rotors and front rim.
As I said on FB, some XTR brakes on that would be awesome. Obviously not what you want to use but it'd be good just to see what it looked like.
RIde soon dude!
