  1. I know the bars and stem make a MASSIVE difference to the ride... I had Monty bars, and an Echo TR stem. (86mm total rise, 10* and 11* - and 170mm x 30*) Bars got creaky, and a hamfisted willy ( :$ ) overtightened the clamp on the stem. Now got Tarty bars (85mm total rise) and need a stem. Money is getting tight, and the only reasonably priced big stem I can find is the Onza master. One on eBay claiming to be 180mm x 40*. (Tarty out of stock, and claim to be 185, too.) It's to be on an Onza Comp Would you reckon this combination is gonna feel just rediculously high? I don't want another TR stem - 2 bolt clamps are a stupid idea. Cheers Edit: Or does anyone know when Tarty'll get the TMS 180x35 stems in?
  2. 5 YEARS?! You used to boast about having ridden 6 before you stopped! At which point were/are you lying?
  3. If you land on it hard, all of the force of your landing is put through those three relatively small areas, into the downtube/chainstays. The smaller the surface area a certain force is spread through, the more pressure it will exert. Edit: Meaning if the mount is on a large gusset which is welded to the downtube, it's less likely to crack than one with a small/no gusset. A frame won't crack just because it has the mounts - but it does dramatically increase the CHANCE of it cracking there.
  4. I reckon you can strip down and re-build your bike in 4 minutes flat with the amount of times you must do it How much have you spent on paint (edit: and nitromors/other strippers) this year?
  5. Very nice indeed - but what do you mean by "bent head tube"?
  6. Ah. Fair enough. Will leave it for another time then
  7. Been on the Because a few times. Bit weird, but over all very nice. (I'm 5'8) I guess it'd stop being weird if it were the only bike you ride
  8. Well that's your fault for wording it like a spacker. You called "street rides" mundane, and said that rocks are interesting because they don't involve straight edges. Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester - all of which you say are not bad - and every other city I've ever been to are almost entirely straight edges.
  9. My mistake. It was supposed to make out that you ride Loughborough less often, as when you ride you usually go off to some rocks. ...Oh wait... ...Nope - that IS what I said. Also - Patt's back next year, too. Also also - I despise your snobbish attitude towards street riding. Tool.
  10. Only a handful of miles from Derby, but never been. Would anyone who know's the sights and delights care to show us around on Sunday? Ta
  11. Myself and Josh live and ride in Loughborough pretty much every day. Kris and Boumsong, to a lesser extent, too. When they ride they tend to go off to rocks. Will PM you my number
  12. Sweet as a nut, dude. Those frames look funky as. When are you back in Loughborough?
  13. I split mine, sent it off, got it back in the post three days later. Hope are fricken' awesome with customer care - everyone I know that has had one split gets a new one back for the price of posting it to them. Also - I originally had a 36h. Sent off with a note asking if I could have a 32h shell put on. "Sure. No worries" they said.
  14. It's fairly good, whatever your level of riding. Certainly worth it if it's not too far away. (You're only about an hour away in Northampton, right?) Or even if it is a fair way - I'd recommend it. Good fun to be had.

    Gapping

Relax more. Before the gap you looked quite rigid. Bend your arms and your knees, and as has been said - preload more. Be loose, rather than rigid and locked out joints... like water.
  16. You live in Leicester? I've never seen you about. There's a ride tomorrow, if you fancy it Lovely bike. I really do love the look of those frames.
  17. This. I always used to overlook it, but it really does happen. Pad's'll bed in within a ride if you move them about, normally, but a grind can take quite a few rides to start working properly.

    Pad Reviews

I have the Citrus Greens. Oh my god... They're awesome. They do wear down CRAZY quick on a grind, so I run a sanding pad over the rim, rather than a cutting/grinding disc. Best brake I've ever had. Even with that, they're half gone in a month. Still - I view it as worth it for such a good brake.
  19. Been riding around four years now, and never been to London. Videos make it look awesome, and want to go. Unfortunately, don't know the way 'round - so would someone who knows the area be up for a ride? Coming down from Leicester, so would likely be a lunchtime-ish meet.
  20. Quite possible. Will be a bit later on though. Got your's, Jamie's and Adam's number, so should be able to contact you when there
  21. Back of the library Just over the road from the pallets at the back of Iceland. Edit: That's the bit at 2:20, anyway. If you meant the lower (~35") brown brick wall that can be done from both sides - yeah, that's at the Leisure Centre.
  22. Unfortunately - that was intended to go to front, like the latter two clips. I have this issue where if I get too close it tries to go straight to back all by itself... Very weird, very annoying.
  23. Cheers buddy I guess we might have a wander down - Ben's back up for the weekend. Might be later than the usual 11 though, he's out drinking tonight. PM me your number please? Only got Adams. What time? There's no wooden walls in that video, leaving me a shade puzzled Edit: What's wrong with my balance? Also - there weren't ANY bunnyhops in that video Haha.
