I dunno. I've not noticed it myself - so I guess if there is (which I'm not so sure of), you'll adjust and get used to it. I had dual BB7 for a very brief period a while back, and it certainly felt nice. I'd still have it if I wouldn't bend rotors so often.

BB7's are immense. I have a 203 on the front, but that's 'cause I'm missing a bit of finger, and need the extra power. Josh has a 180 on his bike, and holy CRAP will that thing stop you. Thanks, too Alex: I've been able to do rolling ones for ages now - it was the static ones I got messed up on

It depends entirely on the bike. An average sort of stock will be around 11-13kg. An average mod, well... between 9.5 and 12, maybe. A mod built to be as light as possible can be around 7.5kg... so it depends on how far you want to take it 10.5kg for a stock will certainly be quite nice, though.

I got bored so decided to make a video. This was the result of a solo-riding (unusual for me ) piss around in Loughborough. Filmed in ~45 minutes due to the frankly appalling attempt of battery life on my camera's part. Sorry if you're not a massive TGS fan - I usually try to weave some more imaginative bits in to my riding, but not today apparently. Also apologies for not too great a quality - had some what of a skirmish with technology. Finally, without trying to sound like I'm sponsored or anything, and on the off chance that they should read this, I'd like to thank Onza (or more specifically the person who designed the frame) for making such a god damned perfect frame. It is absolutely incredible, and I love it. Thank you. Edit: Fixed link.

That was sweet! Really liked the interaction between studio produced music and live recording - that was a mint idea

Fuuuuuuckiiiiiiinnnnnnnng Beeeeeeeeeaaast. Crikey. Finally, a video of those spots that don't make everything look pewny That was mint, but I STILL can't see any sparks :/

Finally Gotten Round To Signing Up To Trials Forum
aener replied to Danny Macaskill's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Oh my GOD forum... You are unbelievable -
Fine... "It weighed ~x(.y)kg when I put it on my scales in my bathroom", or "x(.y)N".
-
Haha. They look rediculous I had a feeling this might be the case - so Ill just leave it. Maybe I'll get a good camera later in life when they'r echeaper.
-
God damn it! I really don't know what I'm talking about Revolver - I know that about the cameras - I was asking if there was a lense I could screw in to mine that'd give a similar result. Mat - when you say decent ones are pricey, how much are no-so-decent ones, and how bad are they?
-
This. Solo's good for not getting bored - but I'm the same as you.

:$ I just took a guess at what it'd be called. Heh. One that gives a much greater depth of field, is what I was after - so that something in the foreground will be in focus, but stuff behind dead blurry. Whatever that'd be called At the minute, it manages to just have everything in focus, all the time.

Order from Chain Reaction and get a BB7. Quite a lot cheaper, and I find them much nicer to use and easier to set up. If you do - note that it doesn't come with a cable or lever. Wilko's cable for £1, and I'd suggest an SD7 lever. Brilliant brake that'll cost you ~£65/70.

Was about to go collect some footage untill my battery died. I don't have a swanky camera. Hell - it's not even one of those cheaper HD models. JVC Everio 21E or something. I can't remember. Was just thinking it could be fun to play with some artsy shit, if it's not gonna be too expensive. Being that it's not a special camera, I'm not looking for a super good lens. Is there such a thing available that would enable this? I know probably not, and if there is, it'll be expensive - but I thought it worth a shot.
-
Just... No. It is not a valid answer. A valid answer would have been "x(.y)kg". Sure I'm pedantic, (especially with semantics - isn't one of the humanistic traits our communicative skills? Let's try to prevent regression shall we...) but still, the question was "how heavy".

I have to say, I really can't see where you're coming from with that. Granted - it seemed that way a while back, but if it still is, it must be a northern thing. If people over this end buy bits because other people have them, then it seems at the minute it's fashionable to buy value for money parts. (Basically Onza ) I only know people that run the same parts as people they ride with because they go on each other's bike, like the bits, and are reliable. What is wrong with that? It just seems logical to me. Also - if it seems a lot of proplr are running "gash" parts such as Echo low-rise bars, did you stop to think it might just be YOU that prefers something out of the ordinary? That's fine if you do - but I don't think it's right that you basically tell people they're fashion whores for running some parts that they just like. Maybe most people don't like the feel of lots of sweep (I'm not included in that, I love it ). If you meant people buy bits when they know full well that they're unreliable, or just a crap product, that's fair - but I don't think you did. I note a distinct lack of people running Deng freehubs.

Depending on what year, Pythons are LONG. Monties are dead short. Personally, after riding a short bike, I find long bikes terribly hard to control - you might want something a bit shorter. Also - you'd better be pretty tall if you're hoping to ride a 20 foot frame Edit: As onza limey20 said - the Onza 2010 Comps are incredible frames. I have one, and I seriously couldn't rate it higher. Well - that's a lie - it could look like an Ozonys Curve, but that doesn't matter so much If you want a longer frame, I'd say a Blade. They're the same, but 20mm longer in the wheelbase. Excellent value, and they don't just die straight away. Been punishing mine for a good few months now.

If anyone from the UK has the money to attend this, I'm jealous of you. Why do Scandinavian countries seem so much better for riding? They must just have awesome architect courses over there
-
Thank you. This is what I wanted to say, but didn't know how to word it.
-
Usually just with Josh - but at weekends quite often go to a neighboring city where ~5 attend. Only solo when no-one's available and I'm desperate.
-
Haha. 1:15 was absolutely mint. Also - you've had some hella nice bikes in your time... Lovely.
-
Because he asked how much you bike weighed. "I'm not bothered" is not a valid quantity of ANY unit of weight, be it metric or imperial. You didn't have to even f**king post - especially as it was in response to a question you had no intent of answering for him.
-
From a look at weights of parts on Tarty, probably a shade under 10kg. Edit: For a mod. I hope people don't attempt to look fashionable by following suite of the few above that have said "don't care". I'm sure you don't, but the thread asked how much your bike weighs - not whether you care or not.
