  1. Thankish everyone, will just get the £5 job... You've succesfully put me off slime I'll just run 'em a bit harder and ride smoother
  2. Right... Just got another snakebite and decided it's high time for a new tube. I've done a search, and it's not here yet, but what about these? Linky Anyone tried them? And are they any good for trials? I know they more than probably won't hold out against a pinch - but there's a lot of thorns and glass around aswell... Either get one of these, or a normal tube with slime lining... Your help please Quick answers would be handy as I want to get riding soon... Cheers Flipp
  3. Count me in Need some shirts... Would you be able to make them with a logo like, a bit more than half on the front, and then wrap around the side onto the back? Or does it not work like that? Anyway, the Frame... £230 Brakes... £120 Wheels... £200 You trying to find my seat... Priceless Seems awesome If you make them - I'll get one Got some more stuff... will talk sometime. Flipp
  4. Not a rant - just an honest question: Where the HELL did he mention Onza? Heheheheheeeeeeeeee Flipp
  5. A luxury some of us don't have... (This is a shout for any Loughborough/Leicestershire riders to give me a friend... flipp1@hotmail.co.uk) Flipp
  6. You just gave yourself the answer Pull the bike up further towards you, if you don't go higher with it - you'll need to tuck... Unless you don't want children, you should put it to the side rather than the middle... It also allows for extra height (Instead of hitting the gooleys... the crook of your knee allows for more upwards movement... more space there... ) I can't get NEARLY that high so I'm not speaking from experiance... just logic. Flipp
  7. Errrr... Firstly, he said "four ring" - not four arm. Secondly, I'm pretty sure it IS four arm. Four bolt is the normal teminolgy used concerning maguras, not chainrings... NB: I DID say I THINK Flipp
  8. I ate a homeless guy because that's how I roll.... YAY!
  9. Hmmmmmm.... Great riding I think . The first song (Voodoo People) is great, but I can't help but think it doesn't suit a trials video. Same with the second one (but I don't like that one either way ) So yeah; Great riding IN the video, but a poor video in itself... Sorry :$ (It's the music and camera that's not so good, otherwise it'd be great ) Flipp
  10. I run 22:18. However, I've not been biking all that long - about 4 weeks in total (2 weeks before, and 2 weeks after I'd broken my ankle) At the minute - I'm getting about 22" high as my sidehop limit (vertical) About 2.5-3' (feet) across pedal kick (I call them lurches?), And pedal hoping (to me - lurch again ) up is about 12" I'm on a T-Pro incase you wanted to know I couldn't tell you what length my cranks are, I just bought them Can you say if these heights are about normal for my time? Bearing in mind I broke my right ankle and I'm right foot forward so I'm a bit weaker (still re-strengthening)... I'm a bit worried I'm falling behind , as I have no-one to bike with in my area, I can't compare. (Anyone around the Loughborough area, give me a shout on msn: flipp1@hotmail.co.uk) I'd say the ratio is very nice to ride, I love it... Go for it Any help? Flipp EDIT: 22t sproket is on cranks, 18t is rear freewheel.
  11. Thanks Joe However, I did say "old skating footage" . I thought that would have implied the whole crappy-quality-shaky-hands-all-in-all-not-very-goodness... lol I'm going out in a couple of weeks with a friend who's got a good camera and a tripod, so I'll have a PROPER vid soon enough hopefully... Flipp
  12. The bold is used on the important words in the post, so the lazy people (like I would) can just read the bold words and know what it's about Flashy aren't I lol I've got a 19" rim now - have done for a few weeks, and I didn't notice that much of a difference? Maybe I've not been riding long enough to notice the subtle differences, but I do seem to adapt to different bikes very quickly - so maybe that's it Flipp (P.S. Question still stands: should I make a topic from that post so people can search it? Or is there already one?)
  13. Jesus man! You've started six topics in about 20 minutes!!! In answer to the question, I don't know I hope not though, I was thinking of getting some soon. Flipp
  14. I don't know why everyone keeps saying this... I built up my T-Pro buying bits individually for it, and I started off with a cheapo back wheel 'cause I had no money. The idea was to save up for a 19" later on - whilst using the 20" untill I had enough money. All you need is a half-link. I ran an old 20" rim in my T-Pro (you supposedly NEED a 19" in the frame) with a half-link in the chain for about a month! I never even noticed a hitch... So long as the rim is wide enough for the brake pads to reach it that is eBay - cheap as chips A half link is like, the fat part of a chain, and the thin part, jammed into half the space. It adds 1/4" to the active chain length (1/2" in total chain length, but you've got half of that on top, half on the bottom), and I found that was PERFECT running 22:18t. Each tooth on a sprocket/freewheel adds 1/8" to the total chain length needed. Some of the time, you'll find that a whole link extra is far too long, and a whole link under, makes it a bit too short, for the rim to line up with the brake pads - the half link will solve this. If the chain is just too long, take one link out, and put the half link in it's place. If it's just too short, just add the half link as you would a normal link. The half link makes the chain just long enough for the rim to be pushed back enough for the brake walls to be in line properly. Bear in mind, the half link on the eBay site I put up is only for 1/8" chains - not 3/32" I know it's slightly off topic but I thought I'd just let people know Flipp P.S. Should I make a topic out of this so people can search on it?
  15. Ok, sorry - I missed "video" out. The "KNOW"s should have been in italics, got it the wrong way 'round. Should have read: "VIDEOS - SKATING - EXPERIMENT - FIRST VIDEO - MUSIC, THE ENDLESS FEED, DARK TRANQUILLITY" My mistake. And no, I don't have that much money for Adobe Premiere. I'll stick with WMM. Flipp
  16. Who's Waynio? (not been here all that long if he's famous) The bold words, I just put in as an afterthought. It's the words that are like, more important, so you could just read those words and you'd get the idea of the whole post - it's for the lazy people (ie, me)
  17. ....How much is Adobe Premiere?
  18. Righto - I'm on the job, hopefully be done by tonight...
  19. Mr_Tensile.... If he doesn't want the freewheel tool, can I have it? Gonna need to be changing freewheels soon and I've not got one. 'Td be groovey if you can Cheers Flipp
  20. Right, I KNOW it's know trials, I KNOW this is a trials forum. Now that's settled, I figured I want to start making videos, but I have no trials footage. I, however, did have a bit of skating footage of me and my friend Luke. Anywho... This is just an experiment to see what you lot reckon of my first attempt. It's done in Windows Movie Maker - which apparently you lot hate - lol. But it's all I've got. Sorry if you don't like the music, but I do - It's The Endless Feed, by Dark Tranquillity. I intend using it in my first trials movie so please don't steal it Between 20 and 31 seconds, I just had to put some duff clips because I don't have that much to play with Eengoedidee link As I say, it's my first attempt ever at video editting, so try not to completely crush me if you think it's pants please It's supposed to follow the rhythm of the music with the landings (also my idea for trials vid... don't steal please... ) after the weird noise bit... it's close, a couple bits are slightly out though. Is it any good? Tips on improvements if not please... Cheers Flipp (P.S. - I'm the one with long hair - there's not much footage of me )
  21. HERE HERE!!!! I was in Halfords today and saw some "Bikehut" bars... I went over to them and there was about 8 varieties of different rise/sweep/combination. They looked almost exactly the same type of material as the specific brand bars (Zoo, Echo etc) and were only just a tiny bit heavier. Hmmmm... I might get some of these I thought, but then I also thought Ah, wait a minute, this is Halfords, they'll be about £80 I looked up and saw the price tags... The MOST expensive ones were £26.99! Now if you look at the history of this brand, (this stem review) I'd give them a go... Especially at the price they were... ...To add a little more info to this reveiw Flipp
  22. Get a photobucket account? Very easy to do, and free www.photobucket.com and follow the instructions... Then, either post a link to the picture -NOT THE ALBUM- the picture, or highlight the bit next to the picture where it says "" (it'll be a little text box kinda thing) - and post that code in here. That'll bring it up automatically. Hope to see the photos soon, add me on msn if you don't get it: flipp1@hotmail.co.uk (or email me if you don't have msn ) Flipp
  23. Yeah - I tightened the cones and locknuts up perfectly, not too tight so it won't move, and not to loose. I did the axle nuts up really tight so there was no room for the locknuts to move out atall... It was perfect, rode it for about 20 metres, and it wobbles like... something.... really wobbly I don't understand how, everything is tight and flush with no room to move in any direction... but it still skrews over Do I just need a new hub? Really hope not - can't afford anything... Flipp
  24. Right... Been to halfords, got new bearings... Put 'em in, serviced the hub etc... set it up as you would... It all seemed fine, but then i rode it down the driveway and back up just for a test, as y'do. Got back and there's about an inch of play in the wheel... I don't even understand, much less know how to fix it... I've done the axle bolts up insanely tight so that the cones wouldn't have room to come out, but they managed it. If someone can help, you must be a genious lol Flipp
  25. Yeah - I took the axle out already... I can't get the "inside cone" off it. 'Tis wedged on good and proper Should I take a pair of mole grips to the unthreaded bit and a spanner on the cone? That's all I can think of Flipp
