The RockNRollBikes.com logo at the start is a bit of a giveaway, isn't it?

Lies! I've been running a 32h Trialtech 24" rim on a 36h ProII for almost two years (ridden as trials for one year, and then as a get around bike for the other). It's fine. Miss out 12 and 6 o'clock on one side, and 3 and 9 o'clock on the other. Hasn't caused me any issue.

Both are very nice since they are very similar in geometry. I'd say the decision is simple... if you're struggling for cash, get the Blade. If you've got money to spare, and/or want; 1) That extra bit of reassurance in strength, 2) Ever-so-slightly nicer for TGSish riding, or 3) What I personally think is a nicer looking bike, get the Echo. NB: When I say "a bit extra strength", it's not as if the Blades are made of papier maché. They're reasonably reliable - the Echo is just a little more so*. I'd say I preferred the Echo, ridewise - but that's most likely 'cause it was mine and what I was used to, rather then pilfering a go on someone else's Blade every now and then. *Brakeless excluded.

I've seen pictures of this before, but never any history. Was it just a prototype, or did it ever actually go on sale?

These clips are mostly obsolete now. Started collecting them about three months ago, and broken bikes made for a lengthy process. Then I started uni, so it got put off even more. The rate at which he's progressing can only rightfully be described as "scary", so this isn't really a fair impression of his current level.

Must admit, that really didn't float my boat.

I thought they were fun! Haha.

Somehow, a bunch of Kyle's clips ended up in Paul's folder so were neglected to be put in the main video. (And yes Paul, I'm doing yours now. Don't think I've forgotten you.)

Blue Rim Tape For 26" Anyone? Ritchleys The Right One?
aener replied to Knottyloxx's topic in Trials Chat
Also - 20mm wouldn't be wide enough. Blue electric tape is your best bet. Or old jeans, if you're hench like Pogo. -
Well stick to mod then The reach of the Echo Lite is 600mm, so if you say VERY approximately that the stem carries on in the same direction, that's about 765mm from BB to bars. The Pure is 665mm, so with that same stem it's pushed out to 830mm from BB to bars. The Inspireds, that most people would probably agree are the most bunnyhop-happy bikes about have a reach of 660mm, and are usually used with a <100mm stem. And that's for the trialsy ones. The streety ones are more like 50-70, from what I've seen, which makes the reach somewhere around 740mm. Obviously bar height comes in to this a lot, but that'll take much more explaining As Ali said - if you won't change your stem to something less extreme, you'll have to accept that you'll find it a very-difficult-to-bunnyhop bike.

Milton Keynes.

Amen. Seriously? 165x25 on a stock?! MADNESS! I would wager that's your biggest problem. Even on a short stock that would put you WAY out.
-
Well that was rather amazing.

I can't disagree more. If it's what he wants to do, he'll be more motivated to do it. Putting brakes on won't magically give him balance. I don't know anyone who started brakeless so it's impossible to say, but I'd wager you'd pick up some balance at the same rate with or without brakes. Actually - maybe without would be slightly quicker (if more frustrating) since there is less room for error. Well... there's the same amount of room, but there's more areas for concern.
-
I heard you have to ceremoniously slaughter and then dance atop the body of a virgin woman in the centre of a flaming pentagram, all the while being showered in salt stolen from the tears of a dragon. Even then it only works when the planets are in the correct alignment.
-
If brakeless is what you want to do, I'd say go straight for it. You'll be more motivated to do it if it's what you want to do. Give it a decent amount of time... It'll take a while to pick up - certainly for the more trialsy bits - 'cause it's hard. Fact. If you've given it a good long try and still can't get the hang of it then it's time to put some brakes on and learn better how to handle the bike. Once you've gotten that done, think about taking them back off - you might get attached to them whilst you have them. Never know.

That was fun. Got VERY lucky on the chain snap! If that'd've gone on the slope instead of the flat, there'd be considerably less facial skin left
-
I'll be here. I hope someone else knows the way around though. I've not been here long, and am quite slow at working out how to get to places, so I've very little idea of where to go. Is Granite at 12 the time and place?
-
I guess the chain could've been a bit slack, so it only raised high enough to grind on the chainstay when under load... But yeah - just need a freewheel spacer. (Or a bashring. So much nicer to not have a plate. Plates should be illegal ) Edit: I just looked at the pictures and realize that probably was not the case

Ah haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Oh god. All this time I've been going through the little cog-shaped link on the right-hand side of the search box, which is a different search. Never thought to check that the blindingly obvious one might be different

Really? Where? I wanted to do so last week, and couldn't see the option, and I still can't Though I'm viewing in V4. Maybe it got removed and your watching through oldschool eyes? Weird though - I'm positive you used to be able to.
-
Could you do something more subtle? Like adding a "County" option in the advanced search window? If you could just Advanced Search > Members > [Leave name and content fields empty] > Specify area, and all users claiming to be from that area pop up on a list.

I said I was sorry. You haven't seen the headtube yet, either Built the comp back up, which lasted all of 20 minutes before cracking 2/3rds of the way around the downtube.

You beast. Though NOW I want to ride Rock/rail line was mint!

I'd wager it's poorly translated french, and was intended to mean "latest"
