  1. There's apparently a technical error on the server, not sure how long it'll be down for, if you can't get onto the website please try again tomorrow, or as a last resort give me a call and I'll fill a form in for you over the phone - 07850 505298. Barbara
  2. Hi everyone, Apologies for the lack of contact from us recently, both Barbara and I have been out of action with a broken ankle (me) and a bad cold brought on by spending hours in the rain at trials (Barbara). As I'm sure you're all aware, the final round of the British Trials Cup will take place on Sunday 23rd October at Shipley Glen in West Yorkshire. With the points being so close at the top of most classes, this is sure to be an exciting round, with the top riders in each class giving it their all to bag the all-important points needed to make the podium in this event and in the series. Who will take home the Cup this year? It's a fantastic venue as well, which allows for challenging, technical sections as well as some big moves, meaning that the event is a great one for riders and spectators alike. Entries can be made online or by downloading and sending the entry form on the events page: http://biketrialuk.co.uk/Events.htm. You can also check the points so far to see who you need to beat! We hope to see loads of you there!
  3. Results are now on-line, check them out at www.biketrialuk.co.uk
  4. Results now on-line, well done to everyone. Hope to see loads of you at the Shipley Glen Final on 23rd October.
  5. Many thanks to everyone for a really good day, brilliant trial, and excellent riding. Results tomorrow. Unfortunately for Ben, he had an ankle injury in a section, then was making his way back to see the first aid when he slipped and dislocated his shoulder! Spending the night in hospital, his shoulder's been put back but one doctor says the ankle is broken, another says it isn't. Either way, he can't put any weight on it, and can't use crutches because of the shoulder injury! Hopefully hear more tomorrow. Many thanks to British Red Cross, Derbyshire Ambulances, and Mountain Rescue. Get well soon Ben. Barbara
  6. Have to leave home on Friday morning to get down there so the entry form will be taken off-line on Thursday night. If you decide to come at the last minute, just call 07850 505298 to let Barbara know. Everyone welcome!
  7. This Sunday - 18th September Hope to see you there! www.biketrialuk.co.uk

  10. Entries are coming in for the 4th round of the British Trials Cup to be held at Bracken Rocks, near Matlock in Derbyshire on Sunday 18th September. Entries can be made quickly and easily on-line, there's no need to even post a letter. Do it now on the events page. Everyone is welcome, either as a rider or as a spectator - no licences or memberships are needed to enter this event. Pre-entry would be good as it helps us to prepare, but entries will be taken on the day if necessary (cost you an extra fiver though). We already have 2 lady entries, if a 3rd comes in we'll run a Femina Class - are there any more lady riders out there? Bracken is an excellent venue which includes loads of huge rock sections in a woodland setting. If you've never entered a competition before, why not give it a go now in an easy, relaxed and friendly atmosphere? Non-UK riders are welcome to come along and try the Great British sections! Results in the series so far can be found here. Hope to see you there!

  20. Sorry to hear about your bike. Quoted from the entry form "Entries cancelled up to the day before the event will receive a full refund". But you must telephone the Secretary 07850 505298 to cancel and get your refund, you can't just put it on the forum. Stephen and Grant who? And what is it they want to do?
  21. It’s almost that time of the year again when the English head north to sunny (?) Scotland for the annual two dayer at Fort William. This annual event is easily one of the highlights of the UK trials calendar; the British Trials Championship, the second round of the British Trials Cup and, new for this year, the fourth round of the Scottish Trials Cup, will be run alongside the UCI Downhill and 4X World Cup. This festival of mountain biking is THE event of the season in the UK, with MTB stars from all over the world coming to compete on some of the most challenging terrain that the UK has to offer. In addition to this, eight challenging and interesting trials sections will be set out in the main arena and along the wooded river and hillside and trials riders from all over the UK and abroad will descend on the Nevis Range to pit themselves against each other and the terrain. The ever-popular Fort William sections feature a mix of man-made and natural obstacles (logs, concrete pipes, imported rocks, muddy banks and a rocky stream bed), with plenty of huge gaps, daunting drops and tricky, technical passages made all the more difficult by the summer heat and clouds of midges and all of this in front of crowds of spectators, often three deep around the sections! Are you ready? If you’re looking for something different, with loads of atmosphere, loads of spectators cheering you on, and a great range of riding obstacles, then make sure you don’t miss the 4th and 5th June in the World Cup Village at the Nevis Range, Fort William. Entries have been open on the Biketrial Federation website for some time now; the strict deadline for entries is Monday 30th May, so please make sure that you get your entries in soon so that the organisers can arrange all the free passes and everything else that needs to be done in advance of this prestigious event, as well as travelling up to Fort William to set up the sections - don’t miss out! The entry fee for each day is £20, or £30 for both days and you can either download the entry form from the Nationals page and send it by mail with a cheque, or you can pay and enter on-line from the Events page. You can also contact Ben Swales at membership@biketrialuk.co.uk for more information on the event and how to enter. Accommodation also tends to get booked up quickly, so act fast and keep a look out for any spare rooms! Although these are British national events, international riders are more than welcome to come and compete; they can take the medals on the day, but Cup points will go to the highest ranked British riders. 22. First round of the British Trials Cup - Brimham 17th April - just over a week to go! Who will be the UK's top rider for 2011? And who will achieve selection for the UCI World Championships this year? Routes suitable for all abilities to come and have a go. High Wood Farm next to the famous Brimham rocks is a brilliant venue for both riders and spectators. Massive rocks situated mainly in woodland makes for an excellent range of sections from the beginners through to the Elite. And with the UK's World Elite riders invited to make the Yellow route even harder than normal - it really could be an impressive event to ride, and to watch. At this British Cup series, you don't need any memberships or licences, all you need to do is enter the event. Get your entries off now! On-line entry available from the website's Events page. Hope to see everyone there - spectators welcome! www.biketrialuk.co.uk
