  1. Is there any chance people who got videos of the ride to upload them? I'd love to look back on what happened. I would also be interested in seeing the video we did in the park. to see how many people were actually there and as a nice record etc. Ant p.s. A HUGE thank you to Si the medic, without whom I would know nothing about the condition of my ankle, why things haven't improved of the year and most importantly what choices are available to me now to try and improve it.
  2. Hey guys, First one I've ever been to and definately not the last! I had such a great time despite spending about 4 hours faffing around with my Brakes, Chain, Tyres, Rear Mech, and brakes again.... then I twisted my ankle really badly, the one I broke about 7 months ago so couldn't ride. Loved watching everyone pulling their moves and am looking forward to getting out for some alone time on the bike to get some shit together. Thanks so much to all who made it happen, those who drove their cars like idiots - lets hope the venue allows us to use the place again. Fantastic day, see you next year! Ant (The one on the zona zenith with broken chain/brakes/rear mech etc... thanks to all who helped out with pads, spare chains and bike diagnosis'.....)

  4. Ok thanks for your help guys... Do any of you have a cassette tool going cheap? I've screwed the lock nut on with my fingers and didn't suppose I'd be undoing it! Ant
  5. I have a 22t on the front. what sizes do most people use? I think the cassette I've got has a 17 and a 19. Why the 12 also? So I can get around on it? Thanks for the swift replying.... Ant
  6. Hey everyone, I've got a zona zenith, and when I shift into the lower gears the chain catches on the frame (near the dropout) and sometimes jams it's self in there. I've recently put a ohpe pro 2 trials hub on there, and can only get three gears on the hub without ribbing on the frame. What am I doing wrong? is that frame designed to be single speed? Thanks for any help guys... Ant p.s. if this isn't a normal problem I'll take pictures soon.
  7. I'll be there, and am probably driving from shrewsbury, is anyone else going from around there? If so email me (drumhitter@hotmail.com) and we'll share lifts to save money etc. Ant
  8. I don't want to unsult anyone as I haven't been online here for about 6 months or on my bike in over 4 years.... But who is DJ? I'd love to come to the ride but would like to know what it was all about. To meet every etc and try out the trials bike I made in the winter, what normally happens? Ant
  9. Ok people are going tomorrow (soon to be today).... But where are you meeting? I won't have a chance to do much riding at all as I won't have time, but I'm in the area on my A to B bike and can stop by to watch a few of you to get an idea of how much practice I need to do before I'm seen tricking in publc. I'l be on my way to look at a few places to stay - has anyone got anywhere for me yet?!!! Ant
  10. I'm going to be going to the music colleg in the city centre.... so will definably be up for some riding.. Do any of your guys have a place I can stay at? so far I'm going to be commuting from shrewsbury which'll take about an hour but eventually I'd like to move up there. Cheers fellas, add me to your msn - drumhitter@hotmail.com Ant

    Guilt...

I'm glad a few people here share my opinion about people showing off about stupid things they've done - I thought I was the only mature (ish) trials rider on the forum. Cheers fellas!
  13. If you're interested in frame like that buy my DDG shooter frame!!! It neds a good home and I HATE having things sitting arround doing nothing... so it's going cheap. That shape of frame is really good for throwing around a lot, twists, turns, 360s hops etc. PM for details or check out my thread selling stuff: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....c=83140&hl= Ant

    Guilt...

Ladies and Gentlemen.... huge rant on it's way, I'm normally quite passive but this thread has hit some sort of nerve. I'm a 22 year old professional musician, that's all I've ever been interested in since I was 10 (sept ridin obviously), this is why I was a bit of a shit at school... nothing major, just not really listening etc. Now I've finished music college and am looking for more income, I read up on a lot of books on teaching and Accelerated learning/NLP and I began to start teaching people the instruments I play in one to one lessons. I also have a Job conducting and big band and give workshops in schools and 6th forms, to groups from 2 right up to 150 students at a time. Bottom line peeps - IT'S REALLY REALLY F**KING HARD! I find it hard just to teach for an hour maybe two tops, so all you people talking about throwing things at teachers like pencil sharpners etc... and bullying them untill they have breakdowns etc.... NEED TO TRY IT. Untill you know what it's like being in their shoes day in and day out, untill you know what it's like to have a passion about anything (teaching in this case) but to have to deal with little ba****ds instead, untill you know what it's like not to feel like you're making a difference and that you're not valued.... DON'T YOU DARE think you're better than your teacher or that they don't deserve your respect. THE ONLY REASON THEY'RE THERE IS TO TEACH YOU. So show them that. If you don't see the error of your ways and are proud of yourselfs for things like throwing board rubbers a their heads etc, you don't deserve to be at school or get an education. Bare this in mind guys (just the fellas showing off about stupid stuff) - this isn't another teacher telling you off - this is a fellow rider in the same age group as you, so please please take it on board. Sorry to be in a bad mood - I can handle most things but kids like the people I'm reading about on this thread really really p*** me off. I'm sorry for being so grumpy and long winded everyone this is the last grumpy thread honest, I'm well aware that a lot of people have a great time at school and make teachers feel good about being there and bothering etc... Ant
  15. One a day for me, sometimes more - morning and night... like the mouthwash... (NOT TO BE CONFUSED!) Unfortunatly my gf isn't that into sex, she used to be but isn't anymore, I think she reached the point in the relationship where you stop wanting to as much (which I think shouldn't exist).... I'm still deep in the first stage which is such a b*****d. Didn't stop wanking when we got together though.
  16. Hahaha I've just bought three DVDs of trials riding, tips and tricks being one of them. I thought it was by far the funniest DVD on trials I have, everything seems to have gotten so serous at the moment. in the Vids.... The other two DVDS I have are Manifesto With Ryan Leech and Mastering the Art of trials byt the same fella. If I was learning Trials Riding would most want the Mastering the Art of trials, it's concise and shows exactly the same move from diferent angles. If I wanted to get ideas about whats possible and looking for different directions to go in I would want Manifesto, it's short but very very sweet, there's not only control finesse and imagination - there's absolute precision which I've never seen before i.e. the moves on the railway track amazed me. If I wanted to chill out and look at a cool vid with some great riding, with a few chuckles along the way I think tips and tricks is the one for you! It's also really nice to have them talking and faffing around a little, like they're normal people for a change! Hope this helps, sorry I can't remember how much I spent on the of these, less than £24 ish for the three though. Ant
  17. Hi, I have an onza t-rex 04 model for sal if ur intrested! brand new never used. PM for details, Ant
  18. Hahahah some of the best sex I've ever had..... The doctor never calls.... or writes..... it gets me down!
  19. "I'm bored roughly 80 hours a week, and when I'm bored, there's only one thing I can think of doing. So yeah, I sit and do nothing yet my hands are getting stronger and stronger." I know what you mean... my shoulders are stronger now though... Sorry don't know how to add proper quites yet!
  20. deffo up for that, just put a date up in another thread and I'll be there hopefully. got a new bike and it's almost ready!
  21. This'll sound very corny I'm sure.... DO YOUR HOMEWORK FOLKS!!!!! I'm 22 now so not that experienced in life etc... but if I could go back and do one thing again, it would be to go through school and college again to reach my potential in everything. Luckly I managed to get onto the course I wanted but I really realy regret not trying my very hardest in every subject at school. I was obsessed with music at the time and practiced the instruments I play every second so I'm now a very succesful musician (luckly). But if I didn't have music, I'm not sure what I'd do at all. Learn things properly and through and through, not just the things you're interested in, force yourself to learn and revise things from school and college (not just before an exam), if you learn things like that the knowlege will stick with you all your life without you having to re learn it. You will be the inteligent person in pub quizes and the person everyone wants to talk to at parties. Understand now that knowlege is cool. Aim to learn everything about the things that you're interested in, talk to people who are good at whatever you want to improve on and find out what they do that makes them so good at it. You might find out somthing from them that you're not doing or could do better - like a missing link in the chain. (I'm doing that with trials riding at the moment so sorry for hassling you all!) Enjoy every second folks!!! flippen eck that was deep.
  22. Hi, I'm a guitar teacher. I aggree with al the above, it shouldn't matter that much which way he starts out at if he's never played before, but you can make it easier for him by starting out the way his body/mind will react to the best. If he's leaning toward playing guitar right handed he probabily won't do as well if he started left handed and vice versa. Short of the air guitar (gotta be done anyway for comic value as a mission), I would suggest making up that you have a project at school about music and wanted pictures of people pretending to play instruments that werent there for the cover art etc.... you could pull him off the scent by getting him and other members of your family to do guitar, drums, sax etc aswell (while you take pictures for the cover of your work) hope this helps, let us know how you get on!
  23. I'm so p***ed off I can't make it fellas.... I'm playing rollor hockey that day in Deeside (north wales I think) oh well. I'll be at the notts ride the week after on the saturday though providing I can make my bike up by then. everyone come to that one too! Have a good one!
  24. I just bought the frame with a chris king headset, I hope it's gonna be ok! I bought an 04 onza t-rex frame also, but decided it was going to be too short for me since I'm fairly tall. it's brand new and never ridden so I rekon I'm a bit silly for buying aonther frame. the t-rex now has nothing to do so I'm looking to sell it I think!!!! damn. learning lessons the hard way. Let me know peeps if you know anyone who's interested in the t-rex. Can't wait to receive the zona with headset. What is the difference between chris king headsets and other ones? What makes a good headset? feel free to PM... cheers guys Ant
  25. Hi all, I've just won a 2004 model T-rex frame and am wondering if I've made the right decision, it's the one at the bottom of the page here http://www.onza.com/site_files_flash/bikes_stock_flash.htm hope that link works, anyway I'm 6 feet 2 and hope I've bought the right frame, I'm told that longer frames are better for taller people, so would I have been better with one of the new T-rex's? (at the top of the page) please someone help me!!! Feel free to PM me with any ideas you have.... Thanks Ant
