  1. Just spotted this.... they were crap. When i was riding my Sunn i went through about one a month of these... and it just used to explode just as you were on the edge about to jump. Very nasty. Luckily the Hope XC appeared and i am still using the same one now... about 8 years later!!!
  2. Yes, that was my point. The explanation about the road cycles above makes sense i guess but as you say as far as i am aware the front brake on a motorcycle has always been on the right. As i started riding motorcycles when i was 4 years old (39 years ago!), i think it would take a fair while to get used too... and i ride motorcycle trials as well and won't be swapping my clutch over!!!
  3. I have never had a good answer to this... Why is it that the europeans and the yanks mostly have the brakes switched around... rear on the right and vice versa? Now for me it would be almost impossible to get used to as i am a motorcycle trials rider and i find that the time using the clutch (on the left) is roughly the same as the when you use the rear brake on the biketrials. Because of an on going wrist injury on my left side i did consider swapping but dread the time getting my brain into gear about it..! So what is the history or reason for the swap?
  4. Jeeeez... 8.7kg!!! think i just got rid of more than that upstairs!! awesome bike.
  5. Lovely stuff... very smooth and effortless.
  6. wasn't aware that Suzuki ever did an 80 trials bike? When you put the rings back in smear a small amount of engine oil on the bore before you assemble... just helps everything start up with a bit of lube place. Don't go wild or you will smoke a bit
  7. Funnily enough i have had a simular thing sat in my Dreamweaver that i hadn't uploaded to my site.... you reminded me, thanks!! http://www.r2wtrials.co.uk/html_files/biketrialspots.html
  8. Rob and i rode Ryans Koxx Boxx last weekend and his Try-all rage bars are very nice... but as with almost everything try-all the price can be a bit steep. £55 i believe... anyone know of a bar the same geo that may be cheaper?
  9. Just popped out to the garage and measured the bike in a few areas... Now with the Echo Control forks on it measures..... spindle to spindle length is 1100mm, middle of BB to rear spindle centre is 383mm and BB height is 55mm .... bloody hell!! And Ryan Pekala said it felt short!!!
  10. ... the dogs dangly bits!! Looks bloody lovely, hope you got a good deal on the price and a few free t-shirts and stickers
  11. That stem i gave you and some Meta or Zoo forks mate Does anyone know what those forks may be?
  12. I used Plazmatics with the ally holders on the rear of mine for 6 months before and after giving the rims a grind.... and also tried with and without tar and they were great all the time. Worked better with a grind in the wet than without though.
  13. was great... allowed me to get back into the sport, just fancied something a bit lower and longer.... and something that didn't ram a seat up my arse when i slipped of the pedals
  14. Few changes... Echo Control Forks, Echo semi-riser bars, thinner grips and new tryall pedals. ... and my Beta acting as a bike stand
  15. Bloody hell.... little git!! Nice riding there.
  16. No idea mate... but take a trip to Trefill for the best spot i know to ride.
  17. And i got to ride a 2 grand bike today as well....Ryans Koxx Boxx, think it has an in built balance and hop assist as it seemed so easy!!
  18. Hiya Jon... Went to Bristol today and was joined by Ryan Pekala (appeared in MBUK a month or two back) again and his mate John on a good old Pashley. I did photo stuff again as i am still getting over the flu virus and my wrist is knackered as well (no comment ) ... sorry mate didn't drop you a line as i only just seen your message and assumed you were still just doing BMX stuff at the mo. A few images from today.... bloody cold!!
  19. Us old blokes had a little play planned for our 1 year team OGC anniversary today... and we were joined by Ryan Pekala, Ben Johnson and Ryan's mate Julian so we could see how it was supposed to be done. Thanks for the training chaps... not sure any of us will manage any of it but bloody good watching you guys play on our little rocks. Images of the day.... Thanks to Julian for putting on the "crash of the day" show for the camera.....
  20. it's a confidence thing for me... about 6 years ago i hopped to the edge of something about 4 foot high to drop off and went a bit too far and flipped backwards and hit my spine on the edge. Ultimately that was when i stopped biketrials and also the start of my slipped disc.... now when i get onto anything and want to hop off my brain talks me out of it. Just need to ride more and gradually build up again.
  21. I was 43 on friday... birthday ride was in order. really like the way it rides and for my low level of ability it will do for now. This is about as high as i can get onto, and don't ask me to hop off it yet!!! ... was bloody cold on my ears, sorry about lack of bonce bucket but it was woolly hat time!!
  22. Blimey...! Just doesn't look like that rear triangle will stay in one piece with those cut-outs for the maggie... but they are no doubt better engineers than me!
  23. I offered him the use of my Beta last time we spoke... we will get him out one day!
