  1. I have been using rock blues... with a light to medium grind. Brilliant in wet or dry conditions. I do use a light touch of tar just to be sure but i think that is more for my head than to make any difference with the performance.... whatever it stops my 14 stone of crap riding as soon as i pull the lever.!!
  2. I have a fixed GU (echo) 135mm hub on the rear of my bike and have been using a 74kingz lately... i have only just spotted that Echo do a tensioner for those hubs that fit onto the hub shaft and get their tension with a machined bit that goes into the drop out gap (here on tarty's site) ... neat idea but has anyone here used one?.. Good or bad.
  3. It was a great old frame... but i am sure it wasn't british made. Think Orange did the design work and they were made in the far east somewhere, like almost all of the stuff we ride. If they made it over here the cost of it would be far too high.
  4. ...yep, it's where they all go dogging. Famous for it apparently around the country!! So were you there when the local copper got caught then?
  5. That in the car park at the end of sand bay?... the dogging area...
  6. stop trying to make out it isn't a hairdresser's car!!
  7. He's a tart... just wants something else that isn't red He is going to Surrey to pick up a hair dressers car tomorrow as well
  8. bugger... how did you do that mate. Mind you, it is a Dob... thought they all did that!
  9. Where in Gloucester are you mate... us old boys here in Somerset are having fun and can point you in the direction of a few ride spots. doh, just noticed... forest of dean. !!
  10. http://www.dtswiss.com/ and click on the spoke calculator link
  11. what... like your red hub
  12. I could post one of 20 of Robmitch and his gurn's... but this one will do for starters..
  13. Echo Pure frame... 2005 i think! Changed a few things... after mucking about with stems, heights and bars i now have the atomz un stem with neon hi-rise bars... plus a few stackers. Feels good on my knackered back so far. Got a raceface BB with front tensile freewheel now and a GU fixed rear hub and Tryall rim. Hope mono mini trial upfront instead of the mini, and a 203mm disc... monty splitter on the rear maggie with rock blue pads. New Magura lever assembly as the other one had a slight leak. Specialized clamp on grips and dmr style platform pedals with sharp pins! It also has a KMC kool chain and a new headset. I have a Magura front hub (made by DT swiss) to fit but may wait until i get a tryall rim to fit to it... we will see. Still want to spray the frame white but can't be arsed to take it all apart at the moment!!
  14. careful now... several of us on here are old enough to be your dads!! I think it is difficult when you reach a certain level to remember how shit you were when you started... i have the same trouble when i set out little sections on the motorcycle trials bike for my mates who are novices. I am by no means a great rider but it can be hard to go backwards in level. I now have the same when i ride with the good lads here on the cycle, i am just over beginner stage but they can easily hop over a gap a few feet wide that i get worried about.... but fair play to anyone of any age to try something new.
  15. I am getting confidence slowly, not going to do anything silly but nice to be able to join in again. After 3 hours on the pallets last night i had 4 hours on the motorcycle today!!... Now i need lots of cold beer and a back rub!!! motorcycle play..!
  16. Robmitch, Ben Johnson and myself had 3 hours out again last night... after arranging the pallets in a different set-up... lack of light finally stopped play!! IMAGES HERE
  17. cool... The breakers at sandbay are getting some sun in the afternoon now as well. as long as the tide is out !!
  18. remember what i said about amount of people etc at the pallets Jon... or you may find them not there anymore.
  19. Just the one so far... no idea why some of the higher priced frames don't put inserts in from standard!! My Echo only has one Alloy thread left now... the rest are all helicoiled! I am just behind the field by the pub... straight over the road. And Rob is about 100 metres closer.
  20. I see you had to drop a few pallets off what i was riding on saturday mate.... D) ... you can almost see my house from a few angles as well! Had to helicoil Ben's frame for him tonight, now he has a working back brake again. I am keeping my eyes out at work for some bigger cable drums from work to add soon, and now i have mastered hopping up onto 3 pallets there is no stopping me!! .. and Rob and i watched the air ambulance land in the field by the pub the other day so i know i will be able to get quick service when i have a heart attack!! sod the video... here we are in static shots Pallet images from last weekend.
  21. A thing of beauty... and it goes without saying, I want one!! Damn i said it...
  22. What is a faff about that!!! It is a way that many motorcycle clubs have done it for a few years now... and you obviously have a pc so what is the problem. Saves the club costs in stamps, paper and envelopes as well (plus a few trees!!)
  23. what he said.... plus orange juice diluted with water about 50/50 is good. The idea of the sports drinks is to get into your system quickly to re-hydrate, you can see if it works by how coloured your piss is after a ride... the deeper the colour the more dehydrated you are!! ... or you have been drinking varnish again ... of course, i use multi vitimins, ibuprofen, expresso and a Jack Daniels before bed!!! And that is just to get through a normal day
  24. If you mean my bike... bloke with stupid flames on bonce bucket... it is an Echo Pure frame. 2005 i think but who knows!! Feel much happier on it than the Adamant A2 i had.
