    Danny Macaskill

Whilst I'm definetly a fan of watching Macaskill do anything on a bike that was meaningless, the advice boiled down to 'do a 360'
  2. Haha I had exactly the same reaction. The brief pause before he says 'because it's intensely large' makes it all the funnier. I'm laughing just recalling it! Oh goody, thank you for that interesting insite.
  3. Not worth the wait? Waiting isn't particularly expensive. The first 3 minutes were very enjoyable!

[quote name=Nick pyke ' timestamp='1292249023' post='2228820] Oh shut up, its ended now.
  5. Does anybody remember the crazy freeride video that was up about a yeah and a half to two years ago in which a guy did huge stair gaps with no helmet on. I think he had longish dark hair. I only remember one clip in which he did a stair gap and the bottom of the stairs had a piece of metal arched over which he narrowly missed going under. Thanks for any help
  6. I'm going to be honest, the riding was absolutely incredible but nobody expected anything less! Personally I just didn't feel the passion of your older videos where it seemed you were taking it to the limit, perhaps the chilled out music caused this effect. The other thing was I could not handle seeing every move 3 times albeit from different angles.

    Damon Watson

How big is that sidehop at 1 minute out of interest? Thought he was going to pedal on it! Phil
  8. What the hell just happened?! Absolutely unbelievable. Watching someone like Watson I can imagine doing it just obviously on a much smaller scale... but that....it's so so beyond and different to anything which people should be capable of acheiving on a bike! Phil H
  9. Thought the riding was sweet. Couldn't have chosen a more horrible song though
  10. Trials is far more orientated towards precision, control and methodological movements (NOT to say bmx isn't controlled etc) and therefore seems less extreme. The risk factor in what pro bmx'ers do and what pro trials riders do is incomparable. To an audience precision and control is surely not as desirable as pure adrenaline fuelled risk taking. Perhaps I only see it from this side as a trials rider but I think it's fair to say the risks involved in trials are minimal (presumably as there is a lot of movement from static), maybe this just isn't, for want of a better word, 'sexy'. EDIT: I have never and will never be into bmx'ing but I think it's pretty evident they are on a completely different level. Phil
  11. KHE Collapse is the only chain to have. KMC's are not the way forward. People talk about stiff links in KHE but it's only occasional and doesn't break your shins/face/back/body like regularly snapping KMC does. Phil
  12. Riding was absolutely amazing, so smooth, so huge and sidehops looked crazy. I don't think that could be called TGS though, maybe just GS, or potentially just S
  13. I'll settle for that (Although I hesitate to put so much emphasise on 'honest opinions'.) Anyway if you are looking for a bike to start on I've got a pretty nice Toxsin up in the 'For sale' section. Phil
  14. What do you mean an 'eloquently phrased piss taker' I merely wear my 'heart on my sleeve', I believe everyone has the right to a view. It doesn't matter what dribble I come out with we should all look at it in a completely positive way and value the comments emormously, isn't that the way forward?! Besides I'm dissapointed you took the time to read it, to coin your phrase, just 'switch the channel' if you don't like it! P.S also attack the arguement not the writer, it's far more effective.
  15. Your 'style', as you refer to it, is neither informative, effective nor poignant. It merely serves in boosting your perception of how you are viewed by others. Your comment above is not so much a discussion of any real issue, but a tool for fementing belief in oneself; take the phrase 'I wear my heart on my sleeve', an addition which has very few cannotations relating to the issue itself. Moreover, you boldly exclaim that this is a forum, whereby it is a place for discussion, however disagreement is surely a vital part of any discussion? Granted it cannot be acheived through childish means, however your disability to accept any disagreement was evident from your disregard of the issues I elevated in my initial post. Everyone likes a good talk you see! P.S If you don't like it don't read it, however I fear it may be too late!
  16. Yes it is, it's implicit in the name! Anyhow not to be satirical or sarcastic it was a warming testament. What I guess I find most interesting is the way in which people react to it, and infact I think this spans the whole of the forum (and applies directly to answering the point of your thread). I find it interesting to see how sometime the use of sarcasm and taking the mick is wholly acceptable, whilst other times it is viewed as completely out of order (which isn't always directly as a result of the content of the thread). Anyway to pass judgement, where I shouldn't, but whilst I'm here: I found it to be pretty painful to read and meaningless. Of course at this point the consensus is it was a geuine and heart warming piece of writing and we appreciate that because we are 'safe', however just as easily the whole forum could have mocked it. This brings me onto another point: I don't understand the awe of being a 'full member' people discuss it as if it is an honour, a true calling in life. Just a couple of my thoughts back form when I used to use the forum reguarly, which I think apply here. (no offence intended) Phil
  17. Yeah, been on this forum many many times, absolute nutter though.
  18. You need TRA, the ultimate in technique and power!
  19. 1. It was a legitimate question for someone who has stumbled across the picture and doesn't know masses about trials/the picture/the history. 2. I doubt he has access to the life history of everyone on this forum's computer. 3. It only takes one person to tell him it's a mega re-post.
  20. hahaha without the moustache would be preferable That would be absolutely brilliant Papa Manual, do you have an email adress I could send it to? cheers, Phil
  21. Basically I need to attach a picture to an application form online but its in some Adobe Photoshop format. Would any one who knows abut this stuff spare a minute for me to send it to them, for them to change it to some kind of normal format and then send it back please? Help would be greatly appreciated. Phil
  22. I think you're being sarcastic, but sadly no one really knows.
  23. hahaha I think you're right, it's also very very shiney!
