    Awesome New Find

Video is a very skilled controlled rider. Rides a few of the spots you will have seen Marco G riding. He may have featured in some of the roadtrips the Braunshweig riders have made videos of. Enjoy Phil
  2. Initially I didn't realise what PCSO's were. My post was concerning police officers. Now I consider PCSO's I agree with what has been said. I can't help but think their ENTIRE role was created by the goverment to control the masses of pikey kids found in the UK as they have no power to do anything else. I also don't think they are respected enough to do their job properly. I'm too tired to justify my rash claims right now but they are my thoughts. Phil
  3. He didn't imply you aren't he asked why.... Anyway, I shall share my experience of the police. Once they pulled up and just asked us to move, we had a conversation about the skatepark etc, moved on happily. The second time he basically said 'thats really impressive but can you move on because if you break your neck I don't want to have to come all the way back here' and had a laugh. So I can conclude the police have been fair and reasonable. HOWEVER when I see a police car I still get a slightly negative feeling. I know in theory they are here to protect the public but I mainly think about them inpinging on our personal liberties. Now I think about it seems illogical as being a law abiding citizen but it's just a feeling. To clarify, damaging any wall is criminal damage. My sister being a barrister pointed out that 99% of the time a policeman would do nothing except possibly move you on for street riding, but if you happened to get a really pissed off officer, who was having a bad day you could eventually end up with a criminal record, something that can effect your future. She said if one member of the public feels threatened by your actions it's in theory enough to arrest you. I think this country is starting to go down the sh*tter to be honest. Think of the respect people have for their elders in other countries and compare it with the masses of pikey scum (not pc) we have here. (slightly off point) Phil
  4. Link doesn't work mate. If its the guy on the white mod I think its been posted. Phil
  5. Is the higher curvery bit to wall a do-able gap? Was hoping you'd nail it while watching your last vid. (which was very good) Phil
  6. What do you do if a bird sh*ts on your car? Don't ask her out again You love it! Phil

    Side-hops?

Yeah friction with the pedals, especially as they are not flat when you are on them, so any pressure on them is at an angle creating more friction meaning they don't release from your feet. Make sense in my mind, probably explained poorly but im certain that is an important factor. Phil
  8. I disagree with what has been said above abit. I dont think you can learn to crash in trials its just pure instinct. When you get in a sticky situation your body takes over becauser you don't have time to think, for example jumping over the bars, you don't think about it you just do it instinctively. But if we are talknig about bails I guess you learn to bail off properly with experience. Obviously this is different to dirt jumping etc when you have more time and can learn a specific technique to avoid a stack. I get this mentality too, the other day it hit a peak, sidehopping up a stack of pallets, nothing can even go wrong! I just really didn't want to, so anyway after 4 times lining up on the back I finally went for it and made it easily. My resolution is to push myself alot more, will become a better rider quicker with the right mentality (like those nutter russians, go for anything! ) Phil
  9. At first you want to have you bum over the rear wheel as said, but the ideal. position is standing up abit taller than that. The bars should be into your chest and you shouldn't be crouched back tucked down. When starting out people normally crouch right over the back wheel when backhopping but you will develop out of it. Phil
  10. It's not even related to the brakes! I had this problem too, running a maxxis on a tryall rim, went over to an echo and it kept popping off when I inflated it. Turns out the sidewalls were abit dead, changed to a panaracer (ironically) and now it's fine. I dont understand whats gonig on with yours though if it's not an old tyre. If the worst comes to the worst consider replacing. Phil
  11. Don't do the above, a couple of people means nothing. You just want to use tar as Krisboats said. Whack some tar on and feel the power! As you progress you will start getting grinds and specific pads such as rock blues. Phil
  12. Doesn't solve the problem as he said he can't afford new pads right now. Tar will be fine on a smooth rim with your red pads. It does wear off but you can easily just re-apply it. I'm presuming your a beginner so smooth rim and tar will be fine. As you progress will be better off with a grind and some specific pads such as Koxx Browns but for now use the reds. When you apply the tar don't put it on too hard, just a black/browny smudge will do the job, you will find the braking power quality with loads of bite. Phil
  13. My opinion probably counts for nothing but here we go.... - The main colour and the colour inside the right box clash and there is no interesting contrast - The quote from louis obviously needs quote marks - on the hire me section something is wrong, as you scroll up and down it the documents stay there and can be seen over the text. Apart from that its good. Phil

    Mike Hayes...

That was quality, love the style on the gap to front at 30s, looks mint. Reacon on the up to rails you may aswell sidehop off the other side because your weight was already over and think it might have looked abit better. But yeah such a sick video! Phil
  15. I've done 7.5ft to back measured, but approaching 8ft now I think. Phil
  16. looks incredible! Now put that 24" monstrosity away and never bring it back out! Phil
  17. Apply it lightly, then problem solved, make sure there are no lumps on the rim just a blacking tint. If you plan to ride wet it may make sense to get a deeper grind and some different pads. If you want to get rid of some I could always send you some stamps and my adress Always comes in handy if the brake won't perform properly. Phil
  18. Yeah your probaboly right! haha your right, but I did have a point! If everything is perfect I think there is two ways it can go: down or up. Either you concentrate on tuning your skills and pushing yourself or you feel like you have had enough. Phil
  19. The arty stuff at the beginning was evidently a load of crap and lasted way too long. The actual riding was preety amazing in parts but I find it dissapointing that Akrigg is regarded as one of the best trials/steet/crossover riders yet most of the stuff he does a decent bmx'er would piss on. Phil
  20. Brilliant pictures, Indoor gap to front by Ali C looked huge especially from the first picture. I was thinking instead of on technique half the time I think about why the bite isn't good enough on my back brake or why the chain loosens. SO when you don't ever have to worry about your bike and you don't have to worry about the weather and you dont have to worry about where to ride, does it ever get boring? I'm presuming it's everyones dream to have a few perfect bikes and an awesome place to ride but I also think there is a certain satisfaction in being well excited to ride because it took a week to replace your broken whatever. Phil
  21. RAF base, kills me seeing all the stuff to ride! Could take pictures but might think I'm a spy Phil
  22. Bar illnesses, diseases, mental problems, etcccccc and all the rest of it.... I think home a complete joke for selfish parents who don't want to let go of their children and are fine with their social development being stumped. Phil
  23. Never ever heard anyone say mod is cheating. Some people believe it's further away from true mountain biking than stock but apart from that Phil
  24. Photos are indeed brilliant! Thing I want to know is why wasn't Tra joining them?! Especially on the street ride, I'm sure he could match the likes of Benito and Keita. Phil
  25. Was a cool video, nice and smooth, looked effortless. I find it abit strange when you go up onto backwheel you use the technique many mod riders use and take all day about it (eg: kicking up, moving forward, moving forward again, edging forward) Phil
