If I got Trialtechs, I'd have to get a bigger rotor though, and I don't really want a 200, 180 is a great compromise between bite and modulation I find. It'll be ages until i bother to change them, (unless I snap them), I'm not riding much recently and I've got other stuff to save up for.

They're not average riders though, they're incredibly smooth, and skinny and light. A lot of UK riders. (Like me), are fatter and heavier than the world level riders, and also don't have anything like as much skill, so can't be as smooth as them.

Which are stiffer, Viz or Trialtech? Thinking replacing mine soon, they're so flexy. (Echo somethings, the 07 silver curved ones. The light ones.)

Depends what the booster is and where you're taking it off from, without knowing what it is we won't be able to tell you! If theres excess material it should be fine to remove it, but if it's rubbing close to the slots for the bolts you haven't got a lot of material to take off.

Is it one of the ones that fits onto the spline on tensile cranks? Could you turn it through 180 degrees so you use the other side from now on?

It will make no difference at all, it only saves about 25g, and when the frame itself is 2300g it really doesn't matter. If you got a lighter frame you could easily save 500-1000g.
