  1. Yes I have always had a problem with it, and I ran a maggy for 6 months. It was on an oil bleed though, but I have just water bled my brothers and I get the same! Even though the lever is much lighter than a standard bleed. Maybe it will get better when I get the booster fitted, when the pads hit the rim, the lever moves another 15mm closer to the bar. This means I have to fully extend my finger to let the brake off. EDIT: I also used to do a lot of climbing in my yoof.
  2. Soak it in WD40, and use a centre punch and a big hammer.
  3. Ali C rates Deores I believe, they might do?
  4. We do agree on one thing, maguras are shite. Arm pump anyone?
  5. For me, the plus points of a rear disc outway the plus points for a rim brake. I have lots of hold, lots of bite and lots of modulation, and all I have to sacrifice is a bit of stiffness, which you get used too after a while. My brother has a maggy on the back of his bike, it's fairly horrid.
  6. Ultimates? I was under the impression they were pretty damn long.
  7. Oh OK. I have owned 2 sets, they were stiffer than my TIs I have now, and certainly light enough for street, which I am guessing he prefers, as he rides a Zona Zip.
  8. Good plan, but you could get them with V mounts.
  9. Dudes, just go measure your brake arms... Maybe worth ringing Tarty and asking Ali, he's run pretty much every V going I think.
  10. Lookin good Danny! Next time, more of those sick lines! Much more entertaining than seeing single moves.
  11. The Urban Legends are apparantly much better than the old style ones. I used a Try-All stem on my Zona with Adamant bars, felt mighty noice. No, Aluminium TPA's are good enough, and they come in silver, not bronzy/goldy.
  12. Go to download.com, wack in codec pack and download the one with the most downloads, then install it.
  13. I'd get Echo Forged if I were you, lightish and very strong, but sounds like you already have them.
  14. Your chain is worn out, mine did that, I couldn't get another link out, but as soon as I got a new chain I didn't have the angle the slaves any more.
  15. You can be a British citizen, but your parents could be French, meaning that your ethnic origin is France, but you are of British nationality.

    Echo Brake

Dengura slaves are OK apparantly, use them with an RB/Maggy lever and you'll be reet.
  17. He uses the same technique on his mates bikes, and his mates bikes don't "nosedive", when he is using said technique. Pics? Can't help much without them.
  18. True, but he clearly states, in the reply you quoted: Just keep practicing, there is nothing wrong with a GU LE. Tip the bars back so the rise bit is vertical, makes everything a lot easier in my experience.
  19. I went to sixth form to fail A levels, worst waste of time ever. I am now at college doing a BTEC National Diploma for IT Prractitioners. Basically it covers every aspect of IT in not a lot of detail, so you can try loads of stuff out and decide which direction to take at uni.
  20. Boiling water, no soap. Otherwise it will contaminate the pads further.
  21. Splitting and joining chains is childs play when you get a feel for it, you can feel when the pin is about to pop out the other side, then you stop, leaving the pin still partly in the link on the other side. I'd just rather not run the risk, it takes about another 30 seconds to split the chain instead of the split link, and as has been said, the split links can shake loose and snap more easily.

    Gu Le

I doubt that it is the fault of the bike, it's a GU LE, not a road bike.
  23. Are quick links weaker/different than/to split links?
