This comes back to the whole, it's not the bike, its the rider thing. Which is bollocks in my view! If you put benito ross on a t-vee, he would be able to ride it better than most of us, but nothng like as well as he would on his koxx. Put him on this raleigh thing, and the situation would be even more extreme. I can ride around on my brother's bike, get used to it and do some good stuff for me, then get n my bike and be instantly more comfertable and able to do bigger, smoother stuff. And that is on a Spec 2 T-Lite with a very nice spec. If I can feel that difference between a T-Lite and an Echo Lite, then I'm pretty sure than Martyn Ashton couldn't do a lot on that raleigh. That being said, as long as you enjoy yourself, it doesn't really matter.

How much weight did you save?
-
They are normally 3 day a week courses, so if they are doing it in 5 days, I doubt there will be any work to do at home at all. My mate is doing an NC in electricianing, and he only does 3 days, and there isn't a big load of home work.

Depends what your into, but a BTEC anything is generally more practical type stuff than A levels, even when your doing IT like me. What kind of course would you fancy?
-
You have some wierd ass hands! Gloves have only ever served me to prevent blistering.
-
It is bled with water. Checked all the fittings are tight? Incuding bleed bolts? What lever is it? You can rebuild the maggy levers, so you will be able to check if the seal has been damaged.
-
Squeeze the lever really hard and watch for dribbles?

Looks really sweet Inur! Don't sell it, get some Monty TI bars an there, you'll love it.

Howdo. If you need square taper, have a look at the shimano ones, but make sure you get a 128mm or 127.5mm axle model. If you need ISIS, this is the only one in your price range, but they are pretty strong. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=10071 For ISIS, the legnth is a bit more tricky, and really relies on your cranks and FFW. My brother has one of those Truvativ BBs, 128mm axle, Echo Forged cranks, a Tensile ffw and the standard spacer in between the crank arm and the ffw, and it is really tight, less than half a mm gap. Whereas I have Monty TI cranks, and a Monty TI bb, with a 124mm axle, and a tensile ffw, and the gap is over 4mm. Your best bet is to ring up tarty bikes and tell them what cranks and freewheel you have, then they will be able to say what bb to get.

For Magura and shimano disc brakes, mineral oil. For Hope disc brakes, Dot 5.1/Dot4. For Magura Rim brakes, water/Mineral oil. For Deng rim brakes, mineral oil, as apparantly when bled with water, it developes leakage really quickly.

Looking good there Danny! Bit big though?

Hmmm. What a lot of shit I was chatting last night. I'd bin to the pub. EDIT: I don't have enough weight to test my 1 rep max for deadlift. I did 20 reps at 52.5kg with no pauses, but then I gave up as it was too easy, but my bar isn't long enough to get any more weight on.

Nice one Danny, I really hope you enjoy it dude.

I am right at the start, i had 4 weeks on, then 2 months off due to my shoulder injury, which was affecting my riding, so i left the weights for a while so I didn't risk hurting myself too much to ride. I do run out of energy, I end up putting full effort in, everything I can muster and then failing by the end of the third set. I am just very weak, I have done nothing before. I used to do a lot of XC and swimming, but I was built like a stick. I'm still a small build for 17, but I'm pretty sure it's all plyometric type fibres. I can explode much better than I can lift heavy weights. Hopefully my shoulder is now fine, I havn't had any trouble for a while, so I should start to see some results from next week. I am starting again, this time taking it easy at first, trying to save my shoulder. The smallest weight discs I have are 1.25kg. Can you get any lighter?
-
Because I can't lift the heavier ones, obviously. My max 1 rep thingies are: Fly: 15kg Bench: 42.5kg Curl: 32.5kg All with pretty good form, curl was without swinging my shoulders back. My thoughts exactly, but if I go any heavier, I run out of energy to finish the set. I end up feeling knackered, so I'll be rate.

Especially as he has been sending a pic of it to whoever asks.
-
I fancy trying that, but the problem is, I use weights that are so small that going up one weight notch is an increase of 50%. (5kg dumbbells to 7.5kg). I think I'm going to try it, but just not change the weight.

Your parents don't let you do what you want with your money? How old are you?
-
Yeh, £650 isn't bad, but it's not really good either. Looks like a really nice bike though, much cheaper than my first Echo cost me. (£1200) My current one has cost me £820 so far.
-
Thanks for the tips guys, I just want to make sure i hit them more than my other muscle groups. I don't want to end up with a huge chest and no shoulders or arms. Because to me that just looks wierd.
-
Who mentioned going for a light bike anyway?
-
Don't mind him, he's speaking southern. I'm guessing it means good, I think...

I know that it stopped it skipping. Why would it make it skip? I can't think of any reason why it would skip more, the pawls return faster, so they engage better. It had started to skip every week/ride, so I stripped it, cleaned it, WD40'd it and it has not skipped since. Maybe someone, once upon a time came up with that, but I prefer to test things for myself. In my opinoin, I was right, it hasn't skipped in over a month, and my god it's loud. Win.

Eeewww this thread is making me feel squeamish. I hate bollock pain, I never get any really though, unless I wack them, it's which case I have to lie down for about 3 weeks.
-
Either hurting my bollocks, or my bike getting stolen. I can deal with big stacks, but not when my bollocks get involved.
