Anyone Want To Ride Miton Keynes This Weekend?
tipsy Jock replied to tomp's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I could be tempted, i haven't been out and about on the ol beast for ages, not as if MK's too far away either. Pete -
I've got a lot to thank the arrogant and pompous twat that is Jeremy Kyle for, Watching his show at 3am and abusing him and his rants was a large part of how my g/f came to be my g/f On the plus side we have a tv in our rest room at work so if i'm working a late i can watch Neighbours during lunch Not quite the same i have to admit but it will have to do!

Some of you guys are a bit young to be thinking of this! I graduated this year and have just started a permanant contract with a company that i've temped with this summer and last. Its a massive multi national business so there are quite a few prospects. My plan at the moment is to build up some experience and some money, i'm supposed to be going travelling with my g/f but shes flat broke so i dunno whats happening there. I'm eyeing up some grad schemes at the moment but a 2:2 and abismal A levels are probably going to through a massive spanner in the works. So far RBS and BP are looking very tempting but then so is the Grad scheme for Hewitt Associates (where i'm currently working) as look pretty good. All of the above probably require 2:1's and decent A levels, so i guess i'll see what happens On the plus side i've not got a loan to pay off and have just cleared my overdraft with this months pay so at least i'm debt free which is good. Overall post Uni life is a bit dull but i guess its what you make of it, lots of road trips planned so that i can pretend to still be a student. I'm gonna miss the wake up just in time for neighbours lifestyle On the work front i've got to decide wether to aim for grad schemes or to try and work my way up within my current company. Gonna have to decide soon Pete

Crashed My F'cking Car Today. Need Help To Settle My Mind.
tipsy Jock replied to Chicky's topic in Chit Chat
I'd reckon £100 to £200 or so, Consider yourself lucky as he seems a nice enough guy and isn't going through insurance. Most people these days wouldn't, but then thats what you have insurance for! Pete -
Either that or a student

A 106 Rallye was my dream car for ages until i saw the teggy, i'd still ove one! they're a hell of a lot more affordable than one as well so who knows. needs to be in Indigo blue though ooooh i dunno, the dc5's have got more horses too, i do think the older ones have more character though.
-
Teggy Type R for me, I'm saving up for a DC2 at the moment, i'm aiming to own one in about a year gonna take a while especially with Group 18 insurance 187bhp from 1.8l is all good, and the whole VTEC thing is awesome, soon as it hits 5.5k revs and your away! [attachmentid=7476] [attachmentid=7477] [attachmentid=7478] The red ones are especiallly cool. a DC5 would be incredible but thats not gonna happen anytime soon [attachmentid=7479] Pete

Seems the US are being pretty reasonable about it. no plans of invasion yet, just embargos and searchs of ships coming into North Korea. Just saw the news and apparently North and South Korea are technically still at war, i wouldn't like to live in South Korea right now
-
Any examples? The only one that i can think was Tito in Yugoslavia, possibly the only example of communism that worked.

Thats some oooollllld footage there Will, ace vid though. You still need to try that crazy line that we were eying up on West Shore in the vid I demand another video Willus, get to work Pete

I've thought of a few other points now, Nuclear weapons were in a way a good thing, without them WWII would have gone on a whole lot longer, i don't mean in Japan that was by no means a good thing. However without that threat i can imagine both Britain/America and the U.S.S.R would have thought a lot more seriously about jaunting off into the occupied territory of the other. Think about it the threat of mutually assured destruction meant that neither side were willing to push things to far, the cuban missle crisis for example was as hot as the cold war got. With North Korea a nuclear weapon is means for the communists to stay in power, they are paranoid of foreign invasion and a nuclear detterent is the ultimate of defence mechanisms. They aren't going to lob one off our way because that would guarantee that their country would be levelled and no one in the civilised world would oppose that should it happen. The main fear is that the technology will fall into terrorist hands or other unfriendly states, now to me that seems pretty damn scary. p.s Deng is Chinese or Tawainese isn't he? Seems a little harsh branding him a terrorist to me Pete Edit: Oh and i reckon U.S troops are strechted pretty thin at the moment and British troops already strecthed to far, i wouldn't anticipate Korea getting a kindly visit from G.I Joe any time soon unless of course they go off on one and invade a certain neighbour.
-
Nuclear testing was banned in the 70's or something i believe, that would be the last time that the super powers + Britain would have exploded any. France being France had a play around in the 90's i think. the difference is that Britain, America, Russia and France are all pretty much stable nation states, North Korea however is not + aren't exactly subtle about wanting to invade South Korea. For that reason the thoguth of North Korea and Iran as well for that matter shits me up! Pete

Yeah. i've got one of them Tom, tis not so great. I might take it apart and see if i can turn it into just a straight converter, its not as if i need the lighter anyway. New speakers nicely wired up seperately I take back anything i've every said against Halfords, the guy was an absolute legend, even came out to the car and showed me exactly how to wire it up. In the end i wired up the dash speakers as rear speakers and left the door ones connected as the fronts. VW had indeed nicely bound up the wiring to the loom so there was no hope of pulling the old wires through. I thought the inconvience of having the Fad topsy turvy was less than trying to route new wires all the way to doors. Oh and it sounds incredible even without the new door speakers fitted, i'm hearing parts of songs i've never heard before lol I owe you guys big time for all your help and even answering the stupid questions Pete
