  1. hans rey, and the marty/ins and ot pi on tv years and years and years ago (10 years ago approx)
  2. for me trials always wins, but some of my best mates ride bmx style. just ride what you ride, i'm fed up with all the crap that goes on between different disciplines. Ben WST
  3. don't get it, i used to work for halfords who sell these types of bikes there not worth the money, u can get better deals anywhere else (the list above). try something like a kona, giant, etc with a small frame if you want to start budget but good value. Ben WST
  4. football? what a pointless sport, the best sport is trials, then others such as rugby, b-ball, etc but not football.
  5. nice setup, although if you run zoo! riser bars don't run them to swept forward as my mates zoo! bars have bent by running them to swept forward. Echo tough bars are nice aswell. Ben WST
  6. Globes, with cage pedals work a treat for me. Ben WST
  7. About 8 years on and off. Although recently just started up again after a few years. It's all changed so much in the last 4 years. WST
  8. It's definetly worth watching leaps and bounds if you can, because that goes in-depth about the history of biketrial, although some very prominent figures in the sport have been left out, for example, the marts, libor karas, petr kraus, Jeff Lenosky, etc. Well worth the money it costs. Ben WST
  9. Okay i think people should try to both sides whatever footed they are. Especially if you ride comps or just want to be a better all-round rider. I'm left footed and hop better to the left. So that's NOT the way it's apparently meant to be, but WHO has the say so? Just ride what feels comfortable and try the other side to improve your overall ability. WST
  10. Down my way we get hassle from cops, chavs, old people (mind you weston-s-mare is gods waiting room). But s**t happens and you just gotta carry on. WST
  11. Leftie, and turn better to the left. Try to get competent on both sides though. WST
  12. Complete reverse for me! swapped for a 1080 contorl to a short GU....... ive taken 4 months off and coming back onto my bike after 4 months off and getting up walls i wouldnt have dreamed up getting up on my stock! bunnyhopping fun!!! and i cant tap my mod and spin and have a lot more fun! really supprising its soooo mint! loving the change!
  13. Hi there mate, if you bleed them and everything else mentioned and they still don't work you should be able to get them repaired or better still replaced by magura (if your the original owner/and there under warranty). Have a look on maguras website or contact venhill (importers for magura uk/atleast i think they still are), hope this helps, Ben g WST
  14. Would if i could but havent got the internet at work
  15. Comps are cool i think, and are definetly as much fun as street riding, i think alot of people who have never been into a comp and just ride street can't really have a say on whether comps/comp riders are good or not. Ben g WST
  16. No you need a fixed rear hub, and yes you can run gears, monty and megamo have been using this setup for years, Hope this helps mate, Ben g WST
  17. Just to let people know that don't live near clacton-on-sea that there is also a big ride going on @ bristol saturday 27th. Meeting probably 11ish at templemeads train station or will be at the main spots during the day, should be good. See you all there.
  18. I have to say that MBUK isn't helpingtrials at all at the moment, seeing as they keep printing peoples letters that are slagging of our sport. I have to say that i'm really disapointed with MBUK now. If only there was still the Observed Trials Magazine (atleast i don't think it exists anymore). That was a good read. It also seems to me that MBUK are really struggling to fill out the trials double page spread.
  19. I started on a 19" marin hawk hill, then quickly got a bottom of the range kona steel framed bike 14". Have had loads of diferent frames and parts over the last 8 years, and now have a giant stock and onza t-mag mod. My best frame was a rocket f.a.b pro trials, if only i still had one of those Ben g WST
  20. Sounds abit corny but i'd like Martin Ashtons old white and blue cannondale, or the old Rocket f.a.b pro trials bike in white with use forks (looked sweet) Ben g WST
  21. "(apart from gold but who puts that on a bike?)" hmmm i kinda like my gold echo bars on my bike. Anyway i'd say go for the pink and white (Hows about a pin frame with white flames at the front end/ white forks with pink flames at the bottom part), what do you think, i reckon that would look pretty sweet (Alternatively pink/silver colour scheme) Ben g WST
  22. Again it's not a valid argument. Ride what you want and just get on with it. Who cares if you ride a stock or mod. The important thing is that your riding. Ben g WST P.s mods aren't made just for kids who are starting out, anyone who thinks that doesn't know much about trials.
  23. I've never ridden one myself, but there the same geometry as a 221ti. They must be good geometry wise, and monty is the company that'll have most experience with trials bikes. Just from that alone (and seeing Marco G riding the ti) would prompt me to buy one. But at the end of the day it's personal preference, hope this helps though, Ben g WST
  24. Is that true? Is a front freewheel not the same as a rear one where it screws on, and tightens /stays tight when you pedal?
