  1. Why not get a job and buy it with your own money? Thats what I did from when I was 13.

    Pad Reviews

Yeah I've had mine on for a couple of rides now. probably not fully bedded in yet as they're quite a hard compound, they have worked well since I fitted them though. They seem similar to koxx browns but with more bite and hold. Browns were always my favoured pad before, but these seem even better! I have them on an echo 07 rim with a sharp grind. The brake noise is fairly quiet (which I like) with a high pitched squeak as the wheel locks. Sounds almost the same as Plaz pads on a smooth rim...just quieter Definitely recommended
  3. have you got the slaves by any chance? If so are they for sale?
  4. Half of the links in your chain are upside down. Probably doesnt make any difference. just looks strange.
  5. Ok thanks people. I'l get a race king ordered and report back when I've given it a try.
  6. Aye, I saw him last week. Looks a good tyre. Seems to have a very tall profile. Looks a chunky tyre, looks wider than it actually is. Well, to me it did.
  7. Has anyone tried one of these for a front tyre? Only 460g. Could pinch flats be a problem? Even though it says otherwise. It just seems ridiculously light considering the tryall slick is heavier. The continental rubber queen also looks a good choice as a rear tyre, 872g, supposedly good pinch protection and a tacky compound. I've ordered one of these but I'm a bit unsure about the front. opinions...?
  8. They are strong and do stay smooth but weigh 176g. A king is around 100g and is also strong.
  9. Get a King. I ordered mine from here and it arrived in no time. Kings are very light and you can fit them and forget about them.
  10. I was just looking back at some old photos and my bike had middleburns. I've only ever bought one pair and they are square taper. The photos are from 2002 so that makes them at least six years old, likely to be older than that though. If I had to buy some more I'd go for the square tapers again without a doubt. The pair I have aren't showing any signs of rounding so it could be another 6 years before I have to worry about that. I have snapped a bb axle though. But for the last 12 months I've been running a viz hollow axle bb and it seems fine. Just make sure you use bearing fit on the tapers when you put your cranks on. And I always put a little on the crank bolt threads too as it will stop them working loose. Mine have never creaked!
  11. Another good TRA vid. Whens his dvd coming out? Is he still making one??
  12. I wouldnt bother welding anything to the frame if I was you. Welding alters the properties of ally. It will start off in a T6 state (very hard) but because of the temperatures the metal gets up to during welding it will become T4 and therefore soft. It will only be a matter of a couple of rides before it snaps off. The whole frame will need heat treating which means all the paint has to be removed first.
  13. You will need to remove the sprockets lockring and it should just pull out
  14. Dont think I can make it this time. I've just got back from ayia napa and I feel pretty rough! Sorry chaps
  15. Just a few Jonny Mc sidehop pics I took on my phone today Adams Egg leg!!
  16. Even more wrong that I did it again exactly one week later to the same shin! Double the pain the second time!
  17. Good effort!! You could see the fat in my leg when I did mine last! This is before the bleeding.
  18. I've waited just over a month. I'd give him a ring but theres no phone number on the website.
  19. I ordered 2 pairs of magura CNC backings on the 14th of march, I've still recieved nothing. Not even an email. And thats after me sending him 3 emails asking whats going on. I know I've paid for them as I have the reciepts from paypal.
  20. I once tapped a kerb. That was pretty low. All my mates were impressed.
  21. Koxx browns dont make much noise. I've gone from plaz crm's to these for that reason.
  22. It's not quiet if you drag the brake while your rolling but if you slam the brake on hard, like on a front wheel gap, it locks up before it has chance to squeal.
  23. Thanks for the advice but I went out and bought one today. Definitely the right stem for my bike. Feels lighter on the back wheel, taps better and I can definetely gap further. (Y) (Y) (Y)
  24. My painted DOB rim has been on the front of my bike for over 4 months now and the paints only just started to thin recently. I'm running plaz crm's and the bite is awesome. as is the hold. Just dont expext to be riding in the rain!
