  1. Maybe the policeman was referring to the deathtrap of a bike he was riding. Surely the yellow paint job would make it better for motorists to spot you therefore making it better! What was the debate about the seat staying on? Hendrix - "Can I take the seat off my bike" Parents - "No, Leave it on" Hendrix - "OK"
  2. Me, Netherking and Moto_Psycho are currently drinking cheap beer (castlemaine!)... After these it's onto the Whiskey, Lemonade and Lime It's gonna be an interesting night
  3. I stumbled upon a video made by PaRtZ which shows exactly how to make up some hosing... Linky (right click and save target as...)
  4. Hi all, Got my Frame, wheel and stem off Biff today So far: I'll keep you updated UPDATE: Finally got it built up, comments welcome Fyfey
  5. I'm starting on a MTB. In the process of building a Stock (Echo Control). Got some forks off TartyBikes, excellent delivery (next day!!!) and superb customer service!!
  6. Usually Tea, white, 2 sugars... but if I need some energy I'll have a Coffee, white, 2 sugars
  7. Really like this one ^ Great effect Some really good facial expressions going on! ^^
  8. A few basic moves to learn which will be vital are: Trackstand - Balancing on the bike while not moving (keeping shoulders in line with the bars and turning wheel to the side helps) Rocking - Both brakes on, just rocking onto each wheel in turn, transfering your weight back and forward (only needs to be small amounts) Hopping - While still, hop with both wheels at the same time and land. Try with brakes on Probably not explained too well but I've found that is what you need for just moving about in a controlled way. Im sure people will post some other vital things to learn!
  9. It's not that bad linking to an Ebay listing. Ebay offers protection for buyers etc... but pre-members selling personally on here is a bit sketchy
  10. Yeah Moto_Psycho and I were out earlier! Doing some (rather small) drop-offs off a wall. Seemed high though!! Then it started pissing down and I didn't trust my brakes or tyres lol I changed my inner tube earlier and it had 5 patches on it!
  11. If you can afford it, get the Magura Mini Service Kit. Comes with the syringe, pipe etc. Then you don't have to remove anything from the bike and is much easier to remove all the air. The best guide for doing it is in the Magura HS33 Manual P.S. This is probably the hundredth topic on this subject! If you want to get validated, use the search!
  12. I've got myself a 26" Mod Echo Control and was wondering what hub to use!! I've heard the freehubs skip alot? So is front freewheel and a fixed rear hub the way to go?
  13. Sorry for a question in your topic but no really worth a new topic... I've never bought a chain... do they come with half-links?
  14. I'm not going near my forks with an angle grinder!! A hacksaw is much more controlled and less likely to end in tears (of blood)
  15. Nice idea!! I think I'll use this method. Gives something physical to saw against, should keep it nice 'n' straight! Cheers guys, Fyfey

    Frozen..

Read the Magura manual. It's very clear on how to use the bleed kit to bleed and not get any air in. With the syringe make sure liquid is right upto the end of the tube before attatching to the slave cylinder (If you're doing it that method). or Fill the bath up with water and Anti-Freeze and probably get kicked out of the house!
  17. Hi there, I've just bought some forks and am shortly getting a frame. I was wondering what methods people use to cut their steerer? Do you use a guide + Hacksaw? Or just freehand with Hacksaw maybe? Cheers, Fyfey
  18. All fixed! Me and Harry have managed to water bleed his back brake!! Using the "bucket method". It didn't work at all the first time we tried it. We tried again and it worked a bit this time, but lever would hit the bars before any movement of the pad. We decided to raise the bucket and hold the end that wasn't being bled lower and tap everything to get the air up and out. This time was a lot better! But still a bit of movement of the lever before any pad movement!! So once more we bled each end of the system and finally got it as good as the front brake! Now as soon as you pull the lever a tiny amount, the pad will also move!! Also oiled up the pistons and they both run freely and return perfectly! So the moral to this story is... "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" Fyfey
  19. I've just bought some '06 Echo Control Forks off Tarty's. Bargain! Hopefully they wont snap instantly! Haven't had a chance to use them as I'm building up my bike and it's gonna take a while due to lack of funds.

It's funny when it's not me!
  21. When browsing a directory in tv.isg.si and you come across a .wmv video file... Instead of downloading and waiting ages THEN watching it... Choose to open with Windows Media Player and it streams very quickly so you can watch WHILE downloading... Once downloaded/you've watched it... goto File > Save As and save it somewhere if it's any good Sorry for people who already know you can do this... might help someone though. Fyfey
  22. Someone was saying what makes these better than Maguras... Maguras are designed for all kinds of riding... These are made specifically for Trials!! P.S. The Echo Freewheel costs about £64.35 delivered!
  23. When I read the topic I thought someone had smashed their faces in or something... "bloody snow"
  24. My first bike was and still is a Claud Butler Rock mountain bike. Learning to track stand, rock, hop etc on it. Hopefully will be easier when switching to my first trials bike!
  25. No way! My hands ache enough using 2 fingers with my crappy brakes, gotta pull 'em well hard!
