  1. nothing new here. i would almost certianly guarantee that every experienced rider will have the odd pedal scar. i cant get on with shin pads cos they get soo hot and are too restrictive imo.
  2. i had never even heard of it as im sure many others havnt either. go with a reptable shop such as tarty bikes. wont really do better for prices or service, on trials secific gear.
  3. whyte 19 anyone? i think mods and stock frames at that should have the same kind of chain adjustment as these bikes. sorry if some already do http://www.bikemagic.com/news/images/whyte19_dropout_big.jpg
  4. is it just me or was that a hard read? i take it you mean the external bearing bb. i was thinking about getting one as the shimano hollowtech 2 system is much stiffer. i can see almost all bb's going this way soon. it does seem a little pricey though but im sure this will come down once other manufacturers do the same. since it is echo, its bound to be good quality.
  5. i have had a profile before and it was good. nice to have something differnt that imo is equally as good as the hope, if not stronger although the standard pro2 is probbly lighter. but now, new bike and i have gone back to a king. for value, go hope, for pimp go king or profile.
  6. they can be bodge by butting a slot into the head of a cap-head allen bolt. works a treat since a hardened bolt should be used to replace the cheese metal magura ones.
  7. on a serious notre relating to the air comment........ many large vehicles have air brakes. would it be possible to have these on a bike containing enough pressure to not need a compresor? i know shimano once tried air gears but needed a huge 2litre sort of size tank on the bike. anyone know if this could be done?
  8. build one up youself. you will just end up replacing the majority of the parts at some point anyway to things you prefer.
  9. thats nice i like that. what was the price? could do with a seat.
  10. well you shouldnt, have you not read the validation sticky thread that mentions new members should not post silly amounts of smiley faces after posts if they wish to get validated.
  11. somone has already said about using the search, whislt on the subject of useless posts.

  13. nice colours. lose the yellow brake though. red maybe would be better.
  14. hes just trying to get validated. just go for a decent brake instead of trying to make you own. im sorry but that disc looks awful in one piece. at least stick it on the mill and make some cool patterns. the holes in discs allow for cooling but also privide more 'bite' since there is more area for the pads to grip.
  15. my brake pads fell out yesterday whilst doing xc cos the pin had been shook out. a few months back i was out on a road ride and my bars started moving and they got looser and looser until they were rattling around, i had to ride with one had holding them in the stem about 10 miles from home. a commun bummer is the old puncture though or chain snappage. always happens when you dont have the tools.
  16. its a bit like the giant prototype they once made. the single curved tube design in blue. im sure its on here somehwere but most of you probably remember it anyway. the koxx one looks a better design though as the curved frame by giant would flex alot id have thought.
  17. what did you do or what do you have planned for today? my dad decided to go on holiday while im still here going to college. especially nice of him.
  18. nice pics. iv been to that castle square or whatever its called place, where they did the mbuk/mad hopstar thing.
  19. true. but the downtube does have a kink in it so these sort of knocks would be few and far between. i like the frame and would like to see a carbon version. oh and a seat too, obviously.
  20. no wonder they got pissed off. how would you feel if a load of bmxers came and smashed up a pallet set up that you had spent hours making?
  21. can i ask why you need a swinging arm on a hardtail frame. why not make the frame as one piece to optimise stiffness and reduce weight as is conventionally implemented? also 'your' design is just a patriot with a tiny seat tube and no shock. http://www.orangebikes.co.uk/2006bikes/ima...t66-dash_01.gif
  22. only the right hand side should be very tight. the left hand side without the shoulder shouldnt be as tight as it only provides stability hence they are often plastic. make sure your bb tool is sitting in the bb correctly, if it is slipping you can get a wheel skewer and put that through the axle to hold it in.
  23. it seems the infamous pete wright is back under the wright pad illusion. just buy a ceramic rim.. if you can afford the extra £30 they want for them. only down side is they dont do it on rims wider than the ex721/d521
  24. yeh but he wants some for £20. it really is worth speding a little more on some that you can replace the cage and com with better bearings. i have just sped a bit on some atom lab trai pimp pedals and they are shite. little grip and crap bearings. it depends what sort or riding you do really because if you do sideops to pedal etc then face it, what ever pedal you buy will get smashed so may as well get a cheapo e.g vp or v8. also look for replacable pins.
