  1. or just buy a heatsink one. look how much development has gone into them for £24 i think. now how much time/money did you spend on creating that carbon one? yes and if you knew anything about carbon you would have known that its not best just to cut a shape out of carbon sheeting lol ooooo the delamination potential
  2. you dont need an xc bike to lose weight. how about just changing your lifestyle? e.g. walking to mc donalds instead of driving. running is better though since you need to only do around half the amount to get a similar work out than doing an xc ride.
  3. you must be busy then? still own rocket cycles too? or are you busy at ebc? i thought people that said they could do or have done everything were lieing. but now i see that it can be achieved. hows the pic coming along?
  4. http://www.londoncyclesport.com/bikes/lance_trek/bike_rr.jpg
  5. im not the only person who will say this but, use the search! the is also a useful thread in the faq section titled will tyre x fit in frame y.
  6. nice one. i will probably pop in if im in the area. do you have a website?
  7. try riding on your back wheel just find a small quiet spot with a simple wall and try going up and down it. once you can do that try and get smoother. then its time to look for more obstacles, anything will do and as you become better you will see more things that you may not have noticed before. also ride with other people to find more spots and develop your riding.
  8. so you have tried to build a hub, contacted hope, been sent a new one and built the new wheel al in a day. i strongly suspect that it was just the spokes seeming too long as found when partially building a wheel. mentioned many times above.
  9. you can get an a* by making a door wedge so long as you justify your chosen design and make it well and exactly how you said you were ging to following research. also do a review afterwards. best thing to do is make something simple so that you can make it well rather than struggling to get it finished.
  10. do a seach for the topic by heatsink where steve found the optimum design for a booster. this may help to explain more. there is also more infor on heatsinkbikes.com
  11. are you sure the 'new feeling' that some of you are experiencing when changing cranks is not down to the crank itself? such as a better cranks being stiffer. its down to your size really. ladies specific bikes come with shorter cranks and the like. also roadies get very pedantic over the lengths of various parts in minute increments.
  12. but street bikes are more like conventional bikes. e.g. riser bars, gears.
  13. what thickness are those spokes? they seem huge.
  14. practically anything that pete wright says is always entertaining. 'my dad owns ebc' 'i own rocket cycles' i cant think of all of his infamous quotes although im sure a whole thread could me made full of them.
  15. whats wrong with the ashton frame? it seems that everyone that has one thinks they are great. the brand also recently brought out the et frame and looked as if they were going to carry on getting bigger. with the amount of people buying the frames why does he need this deal? more money for him i guess
  16. nice bike, only thing i would do is get some curved forks in black.
  17. this thread would be better if you wer'nt allowed to post a pic of your own bike.
  18. i rode pashleys for ages and thought they were the dogs. after taking a two to three year break from trials i built up another one. and to be honest, it rode like shite so i bought an alibongo frame and put all the same parts that were on the pashley onto it and its alot better.
  19. get a planet x ali bongo. thats what i use for street and its great. i am used to riding pashleys and leesons and this seems better. got mine for £189.99 on crc 52% off. i think they still do it.
  20. do they do everything to order? would they be able to make me a frame that looked good? that blue mbk is my favourite in this thread so far. im trying to find a pic of a litespeed blade with nice kit on to post..
  21. i thought you could morph the leves onto different calipers. someone at work put the old sport lever onto a pair of formula b's calipers. works a treat. maybe buy c2 lever. chan reaction do them i think. alternatively, wait for the new closed hope brake that was posted here a few weeks ago. the prototye version was anodized lime green.
  22. when i once wore some knee and shin pads i found that my knee hit the stem alot more because they stick out so much. even thiugh it didnt hurt its still annoying. those dainesse pads have little protection at the back which means you stay relatively cool, but are vulnerable to spinning spinkey pedals.
  23. if you read all the recent 'wheres the nearest trials shop' threads then you will see that the common answer is that the best shops are net based. one of the best trials shops is tartybikes. rocket.biz did do 2nd hand bikes but i would steer clear of them if they still are running since pete wright is involved.. so he says
