Not specifically true. The funding which record companies use to put into their artists has shrunk a lot, also the up front money artists use to get has gone from £100k to £18k. At the current rate of decline new musicians will stop becoming as rich and famous as before, but will be there. Hell, there are loads of better bands on the London scene at the moment than there are on the chart - that's London alone. No funding to sign them, though..

I'm not sure on the outcome, but it was either jail or a hefty fine, because they knew what was going on.. You're suppose to get three warnings, but I've heard of cases where people have downloaded very little (like the 21 songs thing), and straight away been tracked and taken to court. I think, though, they'd set the track as a stunt to see who'd download it and then rape them..

Didn't the owners go to jail? They'll only shut it down again.. (also Sony's new plan will f**k over a lot of people) Downloading samples, which I've bought now anyway, isn't 'highlyiii illegalz' - especially seeing as they got their money off me once I'd re-bought it legally. Nothing we say or do on here is gonna make you change your mind, but the day you get a letter through the door from your IP, you're gonna s**t your pants.

Record labels know they know they can't stop illegal downloading, but they're gonna do everything they can do to make it slow down substantially. I think the Pirate Bay got taken down a while ago, shows what they're beginning to do! Also, I download all of my music 100% legally. Haven't downloaded something illegally for some time!

Why do you guys assume iTunes is the only downloader? Amazon are so cheap it's unreal! 59p for a single, and some albums are £1. The quality isn't bad either, unless you're gonna listen on a 15k rig.

Look for some Metalica, or ACDC. Don't think they have it, just tribute bands.

Although you can't save it, the companies are technically getting paid for it via the advertising on Spotify itself. Though, they're taking a massive hit.

You can get music for free if people deicide to give it away (mongs), or pay 1p for it in the Radiohead album instance. However, iTunes also have one track a week for free - don't know if the tracks are any good (they choose them like tracks of the week I think?) Apart from that, you need to save 59p a song and hit up Amazon!

After what must be now three weeks of not seeing my girlfriend, only getting blunt texts back, and her not really wanting to talk to me - it all came out over text tonight. I also don't trust her so called 'best mate', as I know he's been trying to get in her for the last year. Also the whole she's allowed to look through my phone and read my texts but I'm not allowed to do it back is slightly.. worrying. What fun Sunday will be.
