Well, me and Sam have recently discovered this place. Portsdown Main. Although I've not had the guts to go in (though that may be changed in three weeks), I'm a little suspect of things that have been said on certain forums about it. Especially seeing as one set of people got arrested for going in by the MOD, and another left because he thought someone else was in the building (as Sam pointed out, security would have been quiet surely so they could catch you, so what could it have been?). I really want to check this place out, but I ideally don't want to get a criminal record for doing so. This place looks so cool though! As far as I've been able to work out, it use to be MOD but possibly isn't any longer, but they use to do research there. How ever, if I remember rightly, it's been deserted since 1997.

Me and Ward have discovered a website with photos of a certain deserted MOD building on Portsdown Hill, as well as a few more. Also found out what those weird tank/boat/armored vehicle things are when you come into Portsmouth on the motorway - I now also know where they are. Appears they also have tanks there..

Student finance are being complete idiots this year, so a certain extent of my funding is going to come out of my pocket. Making a sacrifice in the shape of my bike, though I may swap to a mod if the right one comes up.

Everyone has different opinions as to whether god or an upper being excists. Comes back to the old saying, what came first, "the chicken, or the egg?" I beleieve there is something out there for when I die, but I'm not sure what it is. I can't beleieve it's going to be one person, but maybe many? I went to church for years, and in the end our priest turned into a preacher, and if you didn't beleieve him, "repend your sins" time.. This thread has sparked up quite the debate!

For just over 1k, I would expect to get a USA custom in either really new or decent second hand condition. Unless you really want to 'feel' the guitar first, get it imported, may work out even less. Generally, I've found, Les Pauls feel generally the same.
