just to show you treks new helmet they have released. There a nice trials looking type, covers the back of your head well. Priced at 59.99 and have a crash replacemnt warrenty, so if you break it within a year, is bring it back to the dealer you got it from and they give you a new one .... WIN. heres a pic LINK

Single Fingered Or Two Fingered Breaking?
chrisbikefix replied to ibi123's topic in Beginners Trials Chat

you could be running your tyres to low. i find tyre choice is important. Any tyre with a really fin sidewall is not that good. irc elgato, kujo, maxis hollyrollers or minions are great tyres, but inner tubes (dh) can make a big difference. I used to cut old side walls of tyres and put them in my wheels too. that worked well but did make the bike really heavy

buy steel bikes and you can repair them!

i think disc personal are alot better than a v brkae. apart from braking advantages they also help if you get a buckle as the brake will not catch and also for mud clearance. I actually run a v-brake as i side hop to my left hand side, and i always seem to fall straigh onto discs all the time, which can get annoying. A disc is more powerful though, even though a v brakes on a bigger leverage ratio, the power of the two hydrolic pistons is greater than a v brake offers. The compound of the pads also works better ...

what i like about flowing street trials, you can find something fairly simple like the stairs in this vid, and make it into something hard ...

nothing wrong with 24" machines, i do think there so much easier to ride street with! i have a 26" leeson, rides ok, just i want something easier to chuck about .. which i dont really want a 20" and i love the look of 24" (with saddles) waiting to have a go on my mates 24 when he gets it ....

TREK do really small helemts, AND they have a crash replacement warrenty, so if you fall of and smash it up, you can come back in the shop you buy it from, and get a new one (that lasts for 6months) most helmet companys do a certain good will thing where they knock 50% off ........ trek helemts start from £24.99 and are not to bad either! i've had problems with bottom bracket threads going. Most bike shops have tools to clean the threads (much shallower than a tap), but like someone else said. Most shops don't do it in house. ARGOS CYCLES is the best place to call, its around £80 to do. A helicoil could be fitted, but i'm more than certain there isnt one big enough for bottom brackets (i've tried looking into it for someone before). I've tried using a very strong loctight that i use on trek bearing bush's, which i can fill gaps and hold stuff in, but i really would recomend this .. your find it might be cheaper to just replace the frame if you can pick one up cheap enough
