  1. yeh really worth a go. Its so much different riding street to natural though! so going to start practicing more on the natural bits though i think!
  2. no not really mate ... was too busy riding .. sorry. If my girlfriend went i would of had some ... actually have got some. sorry there not great!
  3. thanks alot to everyone for putting the trial on today, really was good. First one i have done in 10 years, have to say the blue route is alot more challenging than it used to be! only fived 4 sections though so was well happy with that!
  4. yeh have been told you can do a on the day license ..
  5. hi been a while since i last went to a compertion ... do i need a acu license to just do one event? i've looked one the website but cant find the information i need, thanks .....
  6. not sure i would do but there is a bike trial at hookwoods ... so might go there instead!
  7. no it isn't ... loads of people pick my bike up and go, oh my god, jesus wept that bad boy is heavy. But i can still do the same things as they can on there super light weight tin foil pieces of kit!
  8. alot of wheels do that, it sounds to me there not tight enough. Its just where the spokes cross over each other. I would get a shop to tighten them and like some other chap said, de-strees it by pushing on the wheel. Then maybe if nothing else works just put a small piece of paper where the spokes cross .... haha
  9. it will get you started. good basic setup and brakes you can't moan about!
  10. To get noticed i think you have to do compertions .. yes you can go on big meets, for example the London ride which will help, but to have rankings on paper to prove how you do is a result. I remember i always wanted to be a profesional rider when i was younger, but i have found my trials riding has got to a point and haven't acheived anything bigger or better really. Not pushing myself as much as i used too. I have to say though i just enjoy riding with mates and having a laught, yes it would be good to get free bits and discount, people to come upto you .. "Hi are you .... Yes, YEs i am!" Good luck to you though!, James Sheridon managed to get really good in about 7-8 years ........
  11. good luck if you drill them, i remeber a mate of mine who thought it would be cool to drill holes through his handlebars .. you can imagine what happened to him!
  12. haha, i normally get asked those. I say it stole it, and it was for sale in the reply to the first question. The second one you always get, i normally say we don't ride just use bikes as a look, like you get the kids who carry skate boards around.
  13. yeh ill be there wife the miss's!!!!
  14. what i have seen people do for desperate messures .... is to drill small holes around the bottom, tap them and fit a small grub screw to hold the bottom bracket in place using stud and bearing fit lock tight
  15. ive got a alex rim on the back of my ashton, really good strong value for money rim 10/10 from me!
  16. i would spend the money and get it done by argosracing cycles. Think they charge £80 to machine out the shell to press a new one into it. Its the best solution really. Welding a heat treated frame could cause it to fratigue .. which wouldn't be good. Trust me i have had welding done on a orange zero once, never again! Broke near enough straight away
  17. i have some pictures of one i had years ago, i will try and dig them out for you. I had fatty r forks, hope headset with bulb front and rear hubs on a sun ryno lite rim. Irc elgato tyres, magura race line on the back with a hope C2 brake. Azonic bar and tioga stem. Middleburn super pro trials cranks, single speed set up ... was lush!
  18. i would bleed the brake enough so you can get one side of the caliper moving, then use something to hold the moving calipers (spanner etc) then pull the leaver till you get a bit of movement. Then just drop a small amount of dot 4/5.1 fluid around the pistons to try and free them up abit. Only thing you can do really, then if you manage to get the pistons out, use some brake cleaner or some of the wynns fuel injector cleaner to get all the dirt and muck out and re bleed the system again !!
  19. i am 100% certain that frame is a hardcore, used yo have one in red during the war haha
  20. heli coil ... work wonders and are stronger than alumilium threads!!
  21. well on the london ride i had pump 4 26" tubes 4 20" tubes 2 spare maguras spare chain alleny keys torx keys cassette tool chain whip bottom bracket tool crank puller adjustable spanner pedals spanner disc brake cleaner spare magura pads and 4 bolt mounts and i must say, it weighed a ton! Never again
  22. are you the kid who i was going to let you borrow my spare rear brake??
  23. only thing is i would make sure your brakes will adjust enough for the rims. If your using disc your fine, but maguras or v-brakes, just make sure the mounts are a good width apart ... if that makes any sense
  24. i think t-pro's run a 68mm but i could be wrong!
