How the hell do you guys avoid getting frustrated. Im always fixing my bike cuz it breaks all the time for some reason, or recovering from an injury or waiting on parts or riding worse then i should and i just get do damn frustrated. Sometimes i even consider giving up but like trials is the best thing to ever happen to me and i really want to keep going. Like if i sit alone i just think about how crappy i am and when i am with other people its just like their all way better then me and its f**king killing. Is there any way to get outta this rut without damaging my self or my bike severly?? Sorry for the emo thread im just pretty down and out right now.

The code is nice and grabby but its pretty heavy. The juicy is really nice in the wet but not so much when its try. Just get the bb7 its like pretty much the best. The mono trials is nice but its kinda pricey.

lol i used to need a spring kit for the ultimate because mine didnt come with. But i managed to make one pretty easy actually once i needed it so i may not buy maggies after all.
-
honestly there is not strength difference between left and right drives its the that BMX grind on their right sides so they stick the chain on the left to get it outta the way. I can only see disadvantages to left drives on a trials bike. Ie no tensioner, no disc and ud need special freewheels and freehubs to run it.

Yeah i was never on the weight weenie bandwagon. I built my Czar up burly which was great for when i was starting but i kinda regret it now. Now that i can do dropgaps without tacoing rims and ups to rear not downtube i feel as though the weight is holding me back a little bit. Not in size but in endurance. You really notice the weight when your doing natural stuff like wedges on 2 wheels. Though that said my fingers tire before my legs do so its not huge issue.

Ugh "use of file" + "I broke the retaining pins on my echo using CNC backings" = "Maybe not"

I have succesfully made a set of spring kits for the ultimates out of an sd7 one. I shall post a how to in the wiki pending a test ride.

yeah its cool but old school. Lets get the forum up again guys, start posting lol!

Ok so if the heatsink reds wont fit an echo will they still fit the magura. And Aki at trials pads has the heatsink red pads and their like 25 pounds from heatsink which is like 50 bucks CAD which happens to be a little much for pads. Is there any where else that sells the heatsink reds for less then that in Canada or the USA. And do the backins break the magura pins, ive heard they do and id like to avoid that if possible. Thanks guys.

www.trials-online.com is pretty good but the forum is really dead!!
-
ok if i can run the heatsink red pads then magura it is!!!
-
Dude if your painting your rims then mask off the sidewalls and put some of that ceiling stucco stuff on them so you have sick bit with your pads. Might work, probably not though.
-
If you grind your rims then obviously it will come off. If your running a smooth rim with tar then it will eventually flake off but it takes a while. Which rims do you have, if their white then it dont matter cuz silver and while look almost the same.

07 Echo white with a Intense 909. I would go maxxis if i bought a new one though.
-
I would do that but i dont want to have to spend like a billion dollars. I just want to switch cuz my vees are pissing me off.

f**k man thats huge, jesus i wish i could tap like that!!

I have been getting fed up with my vee brakes lately and have decided to go hydraulic. I want to get green stuff to go with my bike (i know im a loser) so i figured that the echo brake comes with the mounts and lever in w/e colour u want. I just wanted to know, are the brakes better then maguras. I have heard that some of them have had leakage issues, is this just with a water bleed? Are the pad prongy things as strong as on the magura, and if you dont use the metal backings can you get a solid feel like you can with a vee brake?? Ive never tried a hydraulic brake so im kinda new, Thanks in advanced, Ian

Ive had the monty rims for a while and their pretty nice. Mind you im butter smooth on a mod, but mad chunky on a stock I think the echos are the best, though James B swears by the try all!
-
I would stay away from single ply tires, the sidewalls fold really really easy on them. And yes a 2.5 will fit in a Czar, its does on my frame and i have the widest rims on the market. There is a bit of room on each side too, and if you cut the outside knobs off then you will have tonnes of room man.

Have A Shout About Your Favourate Riding Spot
spartan replied to Blur_Jumper's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Near the parlimant buildings in Ottawa there is a bridge over the Rideau Canal, under the bridge there are these really awsome rocks to ride. Ontop there is the National War Memorial. Sad as it is there is awsome riding there, small ups, big ups gaps of any size balance lines and tons of people to say "WTF". Its all about variety! -
As for the rear end question, if you want to run gears or ever want to buy a frames thats not Deng then no. Also the 116 hubs dont build wheels that are quite as strong. Other then that their solid if somewhat pointless. As for frames, i dont think anyone has had a problem with the Adamants that i know of. Echo pures are solid too. The Czar has almost perfect geo but i hear some haver cracked theres, or was that just bigmans??

In terms of the falt ground thing i meant more like just to get the feeling of rippage. As for the wall guy, just practice on that wall until your really smooth, then do random things on it, 270 or 360 out, ups to front wheel, front wheel 180s, abbubacas, foof it if u can Just dont get bored man, then when u go on a group ride your dialed on the small stuff and going big isnt to hard.
-
21.275 PSI Just do what feels good, i like my tire to feel squishy when im on the rear but not to pinch when i hit ledges so i go fairly high. Anything over 30 though i think is to high less ur Bigman but hespretty smooth so...

i have a set of sd7 spring kits, if i grind off the long piece that goes through the arm then would that work??
-
Ok so i live in ottawa and i am currently using 7 year old avid sd3 brake arms. I went to my local shop and since im a good customer they gave me some free avid ultimate arms but they need a right side brake arm spring kit. The only sram dealers in Canada are norco and lambert neither carry the spares. So now i have brand new mint condition 150 buck brake arms that are usless. I remember reading in a topic a while ago about a way to rig them outta the sd7 or old deore spring kits. Does anyone know how this works and if so thanks a million in advance.
