  1. Looks like you're running quite a high front end...how you finding it? I'm still running a low rise stem and Onza flat Carbon bars and it feels so low!
  2. Yeah but Winstanleys and Supercycles charge £4 postage, whereas BMX-shop (which used to be post free on everything...) only charge a £1.99 handling fee for orders under £50... Gonna order a couple very soon  Dave
  3. I know a BMXer who doesn't do anything big who made his Shadow Conspiracy chain fall apart in about a week... Avoid methinks! Also, on the KMC front, check out the 'Eastern' Kool chains for sale on BMX-shop. They are also KMC Kools but only £6.99. Dave
  4. After riding mod for about 5 years, I got myself a T-rex the other day and find it very different to stick stuff to backwheel. I think it's mainly to do with the length and weight distribution of a stock compared to the mod. I need to keep the stock more vertical when I go to back wheel (i.e. put more effort in) in order to land with the centre of gravity in the right place and keep the front up. Still trying those front touch things though... Dave
  5. I'll be there provided I'm able to skag a lift off of Matt Urban... Will be on 20" though cos I'm not used to the 26 after the comp last sunday. Should be staying in to take delivery of my new BMX but I haven't been to Brizzol for AGES!! Dave
  6. I know what you mean about eating your shoes. It's not so much the shoe as trousers catching on the extra bit of material left on the end of the arm. It's happened a couple of times to me. Dave
  7. If you do go the paint/stickers route try rs graphics for stickers. They did my tribal stuff-really quite cheap and the guy ran them off the same evening I ordered them. Dave
  8. I've just finished mine-got bored of the flame thing. I stripped the lacquer and paint off and, as you mention, underneath is actually a very nice polished finish, even under the black so if that's the finish you want just get out the Nitromors! edit: Dave
  9. lol, it's just a standard T-rex/woodstock build under the paint! The grips and RB booster are the only non-standard parts! Dave
  10. you, my friend, too much time on your hands!! Even more so than me it seems! Dave :">
  11. Laugh at me more like! I'm really not a comp rider... And Mr Doney just P!$$e$ all over me every time! Ah well... Dave
  12. I've never been a fan of site's that pop up at a limited size which don't fill the screen...but that's just my preference I guess (or I'm a retard who doesn't know how to maximise it!) But When you can ride like those guys who cares?! Dave
  13. Provided I'm not in the middle of my exams, hell, even if I am I'll be there. This is going to be a big one...is it worth notifying the authorities and letting them know the circumstances before the date? Just a thought. Dave Marshall
  14. Just to stop it being a 'long, low and silver' jobbie! Dave
  15. From A35 Lyndhurst to Christchurch road, head for Bransgore village. Signs from crossroads in centre of Bransgore. (Y) Dave Edit: I'll be there losing to Chris Doney as per usual riding 20 Expert. Might take the Rex for a play afterwards though...
  16. The brake's just painted...quite badly really when you get up close! Dave
  17. Watched the vid a few times now... Is Neil related to Dougie Lampkin?! He looks remarkably similar from some angles!! Sooooo much power :( Dave
  18. I know it's not a problem but it is kind of annoying and doesn't fill me with confidence. Dave BTW, just had a reply from Hope (they must screen the forums!) so I retract my previous minor dig!
  19. Whatever angle you look at it from, the end result is that we're all being screwed by the UK importers/dealers. The prices we pay should effectively be trade US prices plus VAT and then some profit. It seems that the way the UK guys do it is if something costs $500 it will cost us £500 which is pure bullsh!t IMO. Dave
  20. I e-mailed them last week and have had no response. I guess I could go lo-tech and pick up that thing you talk into though... Cheers Dave
  21. You could try going it a bit of 'shock' treatment- Put a nice big spanner on there then hit the end with a hammer to try and jolt it loose. Other than that all you can really do is get more leverage (or try heating/cooling it but that's not so straight forward). Dave
  22. The problems the clearance between the pad retaining pin and the hole in the pads through which it passes. This allows the pads to rock between the limits and makes a quite harsh 'crack' when there's a bit of force going through it. I'm probably just too much of a perfectionist but I've run a Marta, hayes, a louise 2k and now a louise 04 FR and a mono trial and the Hope is the only one to do this. Dave
  23. I recently put a Hope Mono Trial on the front of my Python. It works fine, plenty of power etc but if you hold the brake on loosely and rock the bike backwards and forwards the pads move in the caliper by about 1-2mm, as the pad retaining pin is smaller than the hole in the pad itself. This results in a nice 'BANG' as the pad reaches its limit. Is this a common thing with the Trial brake? I've been a Hayes person until now and this doesn't exactly reassure me of the quality of Hope gear. Dave
  24. Mine probably doesn't make sense to many... Monkey See Monkey Do was an old school trials vid by the legend that is Hans Rey and seeing as I've been riding trials for what seems like an eternity I thought I'd use it. <Dave Marshall> would probably make sense though... Dave
