Hello, If this has been covered before, please feel free to send a link. I wasn't able to find anything specific. It's time for me to refresh the grind on my front rim (Vee brake 20"). I was curious to see if those with more experience might recommend a specific direction to a grind. Does it have any noticeable effect if the grind follows a particular pattern - say straight out from the hub or more of a swirled pattern that appears to 'cut into' the pad - as seen in my feeble attempt to illustrate just what the hell I am talking about. It may amount to nothing, but figured I'd ask anyway. Hopefully this makes some sense. Thanks for any input.

No worries, Mr. Spelling Bee. A happy belated birthday to you.

It could happen. Surprise has an extra R in there though. >Hides in fear of Bee retaliation<

I've had very goo luck with vee's, but that's all I have ridden so far. Took the time to really learn how to set them up proper and I'm very pleased. Also, I don't have easy access to trials specific parts over here, so vee is the best option for cheap quick replacement at the local bike shop - not that this would be an issue for you. I would like to say that the Moe green pads work nicely with my set up/light grind, but they are crap once wet, so I may look into the rock Blue's as suggested as it's rainy here too.

Girlie calves are good. Just sayin'. Just make sure your GFs wear shin guards. No need messing up some fine legs with a few v8 core samples.

Thanks! But I think you're supposed to add: "I'm Barack Obama, and I approve this message." That's what they all say over here on their campaign ads. Anyway, a slight revision to the design. Added May to the date. Cleaned it up a bit. Also dropped it over blue in a smaller one color scheme which could go on a sleeve or on the back. Either way. Hope you like it. -Tappets

Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread

Yeah, Been there before. Simply accept people for how they have grown from their decisions. Sometimes there is regret as we think about what we have done wrong before. Repeating bad decisons is a problem. Learning and moving on is healthy. That's the way I see it. Good luck to you I am currently dealing with a troubled GF that has issues with trust. I'm a pretty laid back and honest guy with a knack for keeping things simple and worry-free, but somehow cannot help her realize that I am (and have been) friends with other girls that I knew before her. Sure... a universal problem, I know. Mostly former friends from my workplace, but I do go bike riding with some occasioanly - as I tend to lean towards people who like bike riding and whatnot. I won't deny that there were a few that piqued my interest at one point, but that was the past and never acted on it. Anyway, it's been a bit taxing lately. No need to fix it, just saying for the sake of getting it out there. -
Here's my submission. Can we supply more than one design? I had to slap this one together right quick as I'm on break at work. Might like to revisit this idea when I get home. Thanks and hope TF members like it.

Just back from a short holiday. I'll see what I can crank out for this.

Buy her a lid too, whoever that picture may be of.

Smart! A little past my level zero skills right now, but I'm gonna borrow that idea when the time comes, if you don't mind. Thanks for sharing! Oh yes, add more nails. Safety first!

Yup, all up to personal taste, or lack thereof. Not being in the thick of trials abroad, I don't have the opportunity to see what trends may blossoming over there. I slip my vans on and whatever fits my style for the day. If it's cold, I wear some old military fatigues and a sweatshirt and if it's hot, like it's prone to be in this area, I'll wear my grungy stinky technical tee that's about 5 sizes too big for me and a pair of plain shorts. Lid too, of course. Always. I'm the type that has a little laugh at all the XC people around here that head out for a five mile Sunday afternoon joy ride looking like a team rider ready for a 24 hour solo race. Nothing wrong with it, but a Tshirt, some cut off shorts and some clipless pedals work just right for me on those days. No need for the lycra-go-go powersuit, 10 gallon hydropack and matching power-kit-go-go socks, but whatever floats your boat. Oops, back on topic... ) cheers!

Death is such a yesterday term. Fixed! You forgot paralysis and acute loss of life.

Better safe than having a foot amputated over a rusty nail. Ok, maybe that's a bit extreme. Go get the Tetnus shot! Let us know when you get back, so we don't stay up late worrying.

Hi, How many colors are we limited to? 4 color job or less? Any Dimesnsions for us? Or size restrictions? I know some hoodies have the front pockets, so designs cannot be to tall. What's the deadline? I can't get motivated unless I have a deadline looming. Could be fun! Done my fair share of t-shirt/screen printing jobs and a few jersies and full roadie kits in my day.

I'm thinking the Wipperman just because it looks beastly. I don't care if it weighs as much as a small car.

Ok, multiplying half by a half... I keep getting 42. what the ...

Not to worry, I wasn't getting pissy or anything. It was just a pretty open statement that's simply not true. Anyway, good luck with your quest!

That's a pretty ridiculous statement.

Listening to some Circle Jerks right now. Old school.

Sharp! I'm not so much for the flashy bikes so I like the looks of this one.

Nice job on both of them! I dig the mod quite a bit (as I have a zm2) and the red is nice! I also do look the likes of the silver and white on the 26. Thanks for sharing!

I have a 29er ss that I play around on, but have a mod for proper practice. I agree with revolver that the 29er approach may make things difficult and rim and spoke damage/tires/tubes would be an issue. Rolling back on those big tires is a real chore too, so gear changes would have to be considered, at least in my opinion. Something you may consider is finding a used 26 frame/bike with a low top tube geometry and working from there. Remove seat/post, get some good v pads and a light grind or discs and whatnot. Maybe rigid forks too, but that's not mandatory. Where in the states are you located? I'm in S.C. Oh, and welcome aboard!

Spinning up a bit of Napalm Death right now. ... long live the code!

I somehow managed to get a rusty nail stuck into the soft spot on my right (insdie) ankle the other day while putzing about on the mod. Still trying to figure that one out. Time for a Tetnus shot.
