Sounds reasonable, psycholist. Think I've been doing that 180 degrees off, starting from the opposite end from the valve, which as you point out, will not work so well. I'll give that a try and add metal levers and some kinda detergent or what have you as shamus and tom suggested. Will report back eventually. Thanks!

Here's one I like and it's quick. 1 can tuna (in water) Drain water, add a few teaspoons Teriyaki sauce (or Soy sauce is ok too, but I prefer the other) Let tuna/sauce sit while you boil/steam up some white rice. Drain rice, add a bit of butter and stir in marinated tuna. Enjoy!

Hi all, This may sound a bit silly, as it should be a no-brainer, but ... I have searched the forums and FAQs for some tips on removing really really tight rear tire and rim combos, but nothing really good came of it. I can manage on the front tire, but it's really something else for the rear. It's about time for me to swap the old one and would just like some tips or tricks that you guys may have to help me out. It's a 20" rim and a beefy rear tire with a thick bead of unknown brand. Will be installing a Creepy Crawler and hope to keep the old one for a spare, if possible. Just to point out, I've probably switched hundreds of tires on road an mountain bike rims, but this rear tire has got me stumped. I've considered a 1 pound C4 charge as a viable option at this point, as it eats tire levers for breakfast and laughs. I swear, I can hear it laughing at me. Thanks for any input.

Yup, Obama's the big gun now. Congratulation to him! Personally, my 3rd party choice didn't even come close but I'm certainly glad that that trainwreck of a President Bush is leaving soon. I still wish some of you late nighters could have caught some of that ridiculous CNN over-coverage. It was something else, let me tell you. Dig the Palin pics a few posts back. Haven't seen those before. Hahaha Time to go riding!

Heavy duty pics there! Liking the drop off the roof. Failure = consequences! Oh, and the shopping cart. Haha.

Not to hijack the thread here, but anyone else using the DMR V12s? I see sstein is using the copies. The V12's I've been using are working out quite nice. Is there something I don't know about 'em? Are the magnesium pedals prone to early failure or something compared to the V8s?

Ooooh... Sweet and simple looking. Nice job there!

Nice! Really diggin' the stem and bars too! Thanks for sharing!

Well, being from over here, I'll honestly admit I didn't like either one of them for a choice, so I went with my option to vote for Independent Robert Barr. I know he didn't stand a chance as the political machines and special interest groups weren't backing him, but seemed to be the best choice in my mind. As far as the other two big guns go, I guess we're all along for the ride in one way or another. What's truly funny is CNN network over here is a sensory overload of flashing infographics, reporters giving you every second's worth of "nothing newsy" and their projections (guesses?) based on what they seem to think will happen regardless of current results. It's a carnival of electronic stupidity! try to catch it if you can stand to watch it for more than 5 minutes. Ohhh now my head hurts. Like the thread though!

Hi Burliuokis Here's a bit more info from our very own FAQ section also... http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4248

Hi all, finally got some pics of the Zhi at one of favorite play spots. Not sure what year frame, 06 maybe? Most of the components aren't too hot, such as the Joytech hubs, but I am slowly upgrading. Added Isis Meta cranks and Isis BB to replace the no-name square taper brand on there. Tensile freewheel was the best investment so far! Dunno about forks. Moe V pads work nicely with the light grind I put on there rims. Have no idea on brand of those. V12s are a nice upgrade. Bionic bars and some other stock Zhi stuff to round it out. I liked the Monty foam grips on there, but they have been replaced by black friction tape now on one side, as I seem to go through grips like mad. Tektro V's and levers. Creepy Crawlers front and back for now. Ignore the slack chain. Took pictures after playing around for a while and it's needs some attention. Anyway, it is what it is and hasn't let me down yet! -Tappets ... and here's the other shot.

^^^^ Nice! He needs to really stop taking lessons from me! Great pics!

You might want to look into different vee pads for starters. The Eagle Claw 2 pads are great for XC, but didn't work very well when I was experimenting with brakes, rim grinds and whatnot. I have had good luck with Moe V pads (green in color) and a light grind. You may want to experiment with other pads if you do not plan to grind your rims. There are some nice options out there for that set up too. Here is a nice link with some good brake setup tips for starters. Scroll down to "Parts" section 2 (Brakes & everything about them) http://www.trials-online.com/trials-faq-included.php#q4_2 Hope that will help a bit.

Hope I'm not reposting any pics here, please forgive If we've seen em before, but doesn't look that way. Can't remember where i found these exactly, but these should fit in right nice...

Hey, just like they mentioned above about loosening the 2 stem bolts and tightening the top cap a bit, but don't overtighten it. Make the top cap bolt a bit snug and maybe another quarter turn, so you don't go wrenching the star nut out of place. Good luck!

Can Any Body Tell Me The Basics To Pedal Kick
Jitters replied to lil pads's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Funny how that works. Good to hear it! What has learning pedal kicks opened up for you next? One of the things I like about (being new to) trials is the natural progression of things. Kinda like it was for me skateboarding years ago. Although frustrating at times. Learn one little part which leads to something new and more complicated techniques- then link the skills together. Although it's redundant in nature, it feels great with each little step and success. Pedal kick to backhop to small gaps to bigger stuff with good practice... on and on. Ride on! -
+1 Maxxis Creepy Crawlers have worked nicely for me on the mod, mostly street practice, but they seem nice on the rocks and dirt with the little amounts of time I've wandered out into nature's playground. Granted, I have no experience with other brands, but would like to give the Try-all brand a go for the front tire whenever I need a replacement.

Funny! That too is how I am managing right now, but like the others stated, technique will show up with practice (I am hoping). And from there... finesse.

Sweet! I dig the colors, but agree that removing the Koxx sticker was a good idea - in my opinion anyway. If you could get one to match the yellow rims that might do the trick. Is it me or is there overspray on the chain? Anyway, nice bike, eh!
-
Yeah, a bit off topic sorta becuase I live across the way about 3,000 miles - I have tons of urban real estate I could go ride in my little town, but the cops sweat skaters pretty hard around here. I don't fault 'em - just doing their job, but even the cops I go road biking with say they'd have to chase me off of city property if I were to loiter with the trials bike. Just the way it is these days. We used to have the run of the mill back in the late 80s with our skates before ridiculous litigation ruined everything. Ooops, back on topic ) Good luck with your vid!

Hi, Hairpsray works right nice... but 3M Super77 spray adhesive is the bomb if you want to end slippy grips FOREVER. I use it on the mod cause I go through grips like mad on that bike. But you have to act quickly when installing new grips or it's all over. Really. Removal requires destruction of the grips. They make a Super92, but I think that I'd somehow accidentally stick myself all face down to the garage floor permanantly with that stuff. That would be a sight.

Personally, Id go with the blue. But others may like the red better. While others may suggest the green parts. Hope that helps I'd say find some pics of bikes with a black frame and the parts in the various colors and make your decision based on what you think looks best. Asking people what they think isn't gonna get you the color you want. And on that note, I'd suggest the purple parts with a black frame. Or did I mean blue? Maybe I like red today. Good luck!
-
Doesn't take much to cause problems, even with a wide chain. Just thinking you might wanna look into that as a possible cause. Good luck!
-
Did you get them off yet? Make sure to add some grease or a spot of oil to the threads when you replace them so you don't have to go through this again. Just sayin'. )

I was thinking the same thing. I do lots of T-shirt work for a mountain bike race event company in my free time. I'd have to limit the colors a bit to make it print nice, but unfortunately, I'd have to print a lot of them to make it worthwhile, as the minimum press run at the print house I use is way too expensive. I have lots of other design work, but most of it isn't trials-related. I picked up the stickers this morning, but don't think i can apply them proper at my workstation right now (
