  1. This is a serious problem with smoking, at the end of the day you're killing yourselves together. A major problem in my attempts. Why do you think Boredom is an excuse/rational for smoking? Matt
  2. Liked it, about time trials got on telly. Matt
  3. This is the way to do it, I just done mine and it's a 200mm. Get yerself a marker pen and as you find the wonkey bits mark them with the pen, then you know where to bend it. Be patient and don't bend it too far, you have to go pat the elastic limit or it will just spring back (i.e bend it about twice as much as it is out of true.) Prepare to be pissed off with doing it, it is very annoying. By the way, I don't bother using a rag, just the adjustable spanner, you can see how much your bending it better, the bigger the spanner the better. Matt
  4. This is really important, when you fall to one side it's because you are "locking up" this took ages for me to work out. Being relaxed when doing things is really important, get relaxed now while you are on the ground because panicking and locking up is not good when you start doing drops off stuff, as I found out last week, rather embarrassing in front of loads of people. Matt
  5. Ok dudes. It's a week from Monday that quiting attempt will commence. I have spent most of this week visiting all my mates that have quit fags and drugs to grill them about how each one did it and why they thought they had these "habits" in the first place. Got loads of good shit off them. Will be posting all here all of next week dealing with each of the common "reasons" for smoking. By the way, I went to the local quack and got patched up just in case, and as I already have a pin and a skipping rope, I'm ready to try anything. Matt
  6. The forks should have the year stamped on one of the legs or drop out but I would have said 96-97. I sold some on E bay a little while back and they went for £40 with a really short steere, which was re-welded and no fork brace. Stick out for the best money you'll get it. There is a guy that trawls e-bay to buy these retro forks and split em for spares, which he then sells on e-bay. Matt
  7. To be honest I think these videos are shite and its no wonder trials isn't as popular as BMX. There are very few lines or links in either of them it's just sidehop, side hop, side hop big drop, big gap, side hop side hop side hop.................... Not knocking their skills though the stuff contained within the vid is good shit, just boringly repetative. Rowan Johns and McAskill Vids are alot better, which is why the latter received so many hits off non trials punters. Matt
  8. I had this very same problem. Tried hairspray, didn't work. cleaned the bars with meths and it worked for a while. In the end i used a can of clear lacquer and that worked. My missus then got some MBK foam grips for her bike and they went on loverly. Matt
  9. That mag has been shite for years. When I was a nipper in school I could not wait for it to come out, I can't remember the last one I bothered buying, just go to the Local WHS library for 10 mins and I like XC Matt
  10. I got a question about side hops too (Front wheel first) How many people lock their front brake when they land the front wheel on the object? MAtt
  11. Just use the smallest spacer you can and fit one either side. I had the same problem with a rockman hub. Matt
  12. Eno's are very good, mine never skipped once and it was second hand. Stoopid topic? How much does it weigh Jack? Will the weight difference make his bike better? Stoopid topic LMFAO. Matt
  13. Thats done it you f**kers, I went out on my Planet X today, before the guy turned up with the money on friday, just arseing around on street, and I forgot how much I love it. Oops, better phone him up :$ Manuals......... Put a shorter stem on it, all I need now is some bars with more rise and I'm away! All hail old school street frames  Matt
  14. What you done Jamie? Matt
  15. I agree, I really am resisting buying a full on no seat trials bike. I love seats, to sit on and because it just looks more like a normal bike. I have a Zebidi frame kicking around somewhere. I loved Planet X bikes, ha,ha even though I am in the process of selling my Jack flash, don't now or I'll change my mind. Anyone know why they stopped making street/trials frames? Matt
  16. Might try this Idea. Any Ideas on good/reliable/light mechs? MAtt
  17. But it is for doing stunts! I rekon it's a parent selling it. Probably some little git nagged for ages and then didn't ride it...... Matt
  18. Gears are good for getting between riding spots in a very large woods, by my house. Matt
  19. I've finally started getting on with my Brisa frame and seeing as I like natural trials bestest, I have been thinking of putting gears on ma machine. Thing is Six or 9 speed? I'm thinking six. Rear mech? I've got a sora short cage I used to use but to be honest it's pretty heavy, and I have put alot of effort/money into loosing that. What other mechs are light+reliable? Seen the tryall one but that is a bit on the expensive side.......... I don't really want to spend over £150 tops. Any suggestions? Thanks Matt
  20. Join up to this attempt............Stopping two weeks today (Monday) Matt
  21. Well said JD, /now back to the reasons that smoking is hard to stop. Here are mine: Boredom Stress Surrounded by smokers (pretty much everyone I hang out with/work with smoke Beer Like others have said it appears that I like the actual smoking part but not the dodgey effects. Matt P:s I also love tits
  22. How do you do that? On topic, I had a go of a ZHI a little while back and it was really rather sweet, I have thought of getting one after that (Frame and forks) but am going to wait till I've totally mullered my current frame (Planet X). Matt
