  1. you wanna look at the wheel building thing on the internet that Marvin the Martian or psycholist ,pointed out to me. I kept making a mess of it for years until I read it. It is great. It written by this weird hippy looking guy with a beard, some geezer that is the wheel guru type character. The only problem is I cannot for the life of Gordy Brown remember this guys name. Matt Sheldon browns wheel building site. Top dollar. Matt
  2. Well, if it's any encouragement to you Dave, I was told I wasn't going to walk again, so anything is possible...... If yer a stuborn b*****d like me. Matt Maybe I had better point out that I can in fact walk again..................... Matt
  3. Glad yer recovering, sorry to be a bit stoopid, but what happened to your foot/ankle? And why were you not gonna be riding again? Matt
  4. My mate Ed is a daemon on any type of bike, and I once asked him after he had done a massive drop in a quarry (On his full suss bike) how he got the balls to do things and he said, "Well I'm gonna do it some time so I might as well do it now", this has really helped me to do things, cos he's right. If you want to see yourself doing these things in the future you gotta start doing them now, hesitate and your knackered. I remember as a kid learning to drop in on a 6ft halfpipe on my BMX, it took me all day, just standing on the platform shiteing it. When it was time to go home, I thought just do it, and I did, and it was piss. I was chuffed to bits, but gutted that I hadn't done it at the beginning of the day, because I could have been riding all day and we weren't coming back to the next week. So the moral of the story is "Do it now, because your only going to do it later on so you may as well do it now." Or something..... Matt
  5. Watch the movie: Leaps and bounds for all your trials needs. Matt
  6. I wanna know whether Chris King hubs are worth the extra money over good freewheels (Like ENO) or Hope pro 2. Please fill in the poll and add comments below. Please only answer this if you have: A: Owned a Chris King hub B: Have had a go on a mates bike that has a King, and you have ridden it for more than just a few seconds. Matt
  7. Ah, I see, I didn't realise it was for competative use. Matt
  8. Does the pushing down operate a brake. Have you thought about this situation: Pull back- operates both brakes Push down- bypass port allows some of the oil to the front brake to bypass making the front brake weaker. A bypass would not be as hard on the finger to operate than putting actual braking pressure on. It looks to me that the way it operates is that pull back operates one brake then push down sends some of the oil to the other brake via a port that is uncovered by pushing down on the lever. Is that the way it works? You may well have thought of it and dismissed it I am just wondering. Matt
  9. Hmmmm, I'm not sure that is correct, I think what is trying to get across is that smoother riders don't need as strong brakes because they are so good. Whereas useless farts require more breakage than normal, I think he's saying your useless Matt
  10. I'm pretty sure that bikes been up for sale a load of times over the last 6 mnths. Matt
  11. What do you think of the monty freellywheely on the Kamel? Matt
  12. I'm still in a dilema about brakes. I've got a hope disc with a 203mm rotor on the front and a maggie on the back with a booster. It's a fab set up when it operates exactly correctly but one of the pistons keeps pumping itself out all the time and it's REALLY PISSING ME OFF So I go on my missuses bike and think "Ah the simplicity of V brakes" But the comfort and effortlessness of a rear maggie is really worth considering. Grind and some sticky pads and it's heaven. Although the noise is pissing my neighbors off Matt
  13. My word what sort of a sad cocksmoker does this? Maybe they picked on you because you clearly were not the type of "yobs" that would have kicked the shit out of him and nicked his camera. It's hard to believe there are tossbags around that can even be bothered to do that, sad twat. I really hope he gets in the shit. Matt
  14. f**kin right Ben, bit of a bummer, but there you go. Matt
  15. I got a Brisa frame which I have wanted for years only to find it's shit I don't know if it's because frames are so much better now than when I first wanted one or what, but it's shit (Or not suited to me anyway. So I was wondering if anyone had amusing tales of buying something after wanting to get it for ages only to find it's shit. Matt
  16. What interesting shit did you get interested in? Matt
  17. Righto, after riding a guys bike last night with a disc front and rear maggie, which were well set up I have seen why it is the most popular set up by miles. So I have a hope disc on the front and back maggie. Could the guys that have lots of experience with maggies please suggest a set of pads for me: I live in Wales so it's raining most of the time. I'm not to worried about the pads wearing fast. I like doing natural better as there is loads around by me. Mud is part of my life. I don't particularly want to grind my rims but will if it makes loads of difference to my choice. Thanks Matt
  18. You've hit the nail on the head there Captain. Matt
