  2. It's a really nice looking logo :D Thanks for putting the time in design it ;) The comp has come to an end now though - Thanks again to all who gave it a shot - I hope it was fun and the winners can be found in the Comp thread. Cheers, Steve
  3. Check out this beastly spec for my PC! Steve

    Car For

Hi there, My advice would be to just keep your eyes open in your local area for cars up for private sale. You can check these out and see what you're getting for your money without any long wasted journies. After getting a few ideas you could browse the local paper's private sale ads with a few cars in mind. Once you have a few candidate cars & their models, be sure to phone up a cheapish insurer like Tesco or Elephant.co.uk (you could play around with the online quote generator trying different cars) to check out the cost of it for your insurance. This is pretty damn important since it can go through the roof if you choose a car which statistically has been handed down from Grandma to a boy racer and so is being involved in crashes the length and breadth of the country. For example, Mk II G reg Golf GTI (over 10 years old) sale value £500 and I was quoted over £2000 insurance even though I'm over 25. The vast majority of these cars have fallen into the hands of the barry boys. For under £1000 having a long running MOT and road tax (as close to 12 months as possible) is a key thing to go for. Never do what I did and buy a car which is about to need an MOT. When the MOT comes around, a car worth under a grand could cost you 50% of the cars value to keep it on the road, and maybe more! If you look around you could pick up a decent car for £500 which is mechanically in great order. Just take your time to side step the numerous old bangers about to die on you. Definately take a knowledgeable relative along with you, an experienced car buyer who knows what to look for, and be prepared to walk away. Steve
  5. Dum-d-d-dum-dum-dah! 1. Winner: Sam Holmes - Logo being made into Stickers - Wins pads and 20" booster (when it's ready!) + big fame and props on my site very soon. Sam not only produced this revamped version of the old one, making it more sticker/Tee friendily, but he was able to produce a vector image too ready for printing straight away :) 2. Joe Maher - Simple and effective. A good shape for Tees..... Wins Blue Pads 3. Chimpy - A nice piece of artwork which deserves a reward! Wins Blue Pads I really liked lots of the other designs, and I'd like to give these a special mention on a gallery page I'm working on on my site to give you some exposure (Y) I'm still shortlisting those which got didn't quite make it onto the podium. I'll post a link to "The Gallery" (Anyone remember Tony Hart?), when this summary page is up. Thanks again for all your contributions - I hope you enjoyed letting your creative juices flow :) It was fascinating watching the new ideas come in. Steve
  6. I was hoping to put together a big email summarising my choices, but TF keeps falling over for me from my end - problems posting (server busy) It's making even browsing unreliable and very slow, so it's hard to pull up the images from this thread! I'll try later on - In the meantime, the overall winner is Mr Sam Holmes for the new version of my old logo. I'll post an image when TF is working again! This logo will make it's way onto stickers within the coming week :) Joe Maher also wins some pads for his GTA font based logo.... More winners coming, as are the images (maybe someone can help me out by pasting them ;) ) For the eagle eyed amoungst you, you'll see that I'd already used Sam's logo somewhere on my site which is a bit of an early give away of the result :"> More info internet permitting :P Steve
  7. Thanks to all contributors. I've been impressed by the creativity of many of the designs :) The winners will be selected tonight ;) Steve
  8. Being a granddad at 30 is pretty common in the chav community :- Hopefully I won't be a grandad for at least another 20 years though! Steve
  9. Just to follow up on this point - I'd disagree with this opinion. Most people don't wear helmets because they think that their peers reckon helmets aren't cool. I mean, on every other aspect it's an overwhelming hands down win for wearing a helmet :- Like smoking, keep telling people it's stupid, and it's goodbye to a possible self induced early grave. If you turn this trend on it's head (excuse the pun) then the increased wearing of helmets follows. If I had a penny for everytime some one has let me know that they've invested in a helmet due to my sig......
  10. But this is a very rare good example of peer group pressure. Keep the helmet reminders coming I say (Y) Impressive riding going on - Nice photos! Steve P.S. Simon, get your helmet on too! (Y)
  11. Looking good  Quick, get some washing on that line before the sun goes in :-
  12. I'm flattered to be in a poll with the Plaz pads :- The Plaz pads will naturally storm to victory here - they have been out for many years so awareness is much higher. I think the number of riders testing the blues at the moment is barely into double figures! I'd love to hear more about the question of which is the better pad. This is what helps to continually improve and can of course only be answered by the relatively few riders who have owned both. The Blues are one of the test compounds I've been testing with Tartybikes, and they have been well received by many test riders. This has been to the point where I have had more made due to interest. Testing is on going still to see whether we can better them. Your honest feedback much appreciated, also taking into account the value for money aspect. All feedback (whether on TF, by PM or email) is incredibly useful. Don't hesitate to get in contact with your opinions and experiences, or just for a chat. I've been trying to make my pads for riders, developed by riders! Cheers, Steve
  13. My computer was the cheapest I bet - It was a cast off from my brother because it was outdated spec wise. I think it's 400Mhz and has a 6GB harddrive. Cost me £0.00 Understandably since I got it, new parts have been fitted. The motherboard wouldn't allow the 160GB HD I bought to be run, so this secondary HDD has only 30GB available. Plopped a DVD Read/Write and CD read drive in, addition USB ports, and it's running on a Local Network. I'm lagging behind with PC technology, but have no need to upgrade! Steve
  14. Will it make you switch racial groups too? :)
  15. I just spoke to the Film company on the phone - They've managed to catch Mart via EBTC now :) But it will be helpful to find Dave "plainlazy84"'s moby because he may have been the film man for it. Steve
  16. Don't panic Mr Mannering! A film company has contacted me because they would love to speak to Mart (frika) and Dave (plainlazy84 - may have been the film man) about using the famous "Face Plant" Vid. It sounds pretty cool, but Mart/Dave aren't as visible on the forum at the moment. The Vid makes its way around the globe: Search for "Biker Faceplant" http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Bik...le+Search&meta= Cheers, Steve
  17. Oi Oi! Great photos! It looked like great riding weather :D The last one is my fav - the patchwork building contrasted with Todge's modern and pimped Echo makes it cool! Steve
  18. It's nice and peaceful :D I'd prefer some natural scenary though!
  19. Here's one for all the messy desk owners out there :D
  20. Is it that rough that in Spalding that the shop can't have glass windows? Maybe the front of the van has just smashed through that shop wall and a ramraid is in progress! I'll get a photo tonight of my ghetto. Steve
  21. From that site, this is quite interesting: 2005 UCI World Champs report Better not forget my language too, &^**^!!
  22. Check out the pulling power of his new bike :-

    Felix?

Below are some photos which Felix sent me the other day. He was one of the first riders to get his hands on my Vees last year, and these are still going strong so I know about his rear brake set-up (Y) You can make out the rest of the components pretty well from the bike shot. Steve
