  1. I dont think its a good idea to mess with the disk mount there that size and design for a reason. i can see an accident in the near future Ignore that i realised your shaving the rear mount :$
  2. This chain should do you fine http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/chains/kmc_z610_hx_332_inch/c7p11539.html
  3. chain with a breaking strain of 1.5t i cant really see this breaking but it is a bit heavy
  4. I wish i found this guide 2 weeks ago i would of saved my self £10 getting my wheel poorly trued by halfords. I followed this guide (32H 3X) and my wheel is perfect straight as an arrow and its not egged. thanks Mark w for writing this excellent guide..
  5. Not much can go wrong with the smooth cams. Have you tried a notched one also check the axle cones are tight so the wheel still turns it happened to me i though the wheel came loose as the rim was rubbing on pads but there was play on the axle due to cones coming loose.
  6. I cant remember what there called but ive had them before they do go. normally caused by that part of ur hand isnt used as such but now its being used the skin is going tuff and it peels off if you soak it they will go back to normal again but they will return after riding trials again.
  7. That's naughty i prefer to borrow without intention of taking them back
  8. This is his second trials bike he had an onza rip which he rode then sold it. I was being nosey on his feed back he brought a bmx frame for £35 built it up then sold for about £300. He's got the right idea easy money at the right time of year but the t-rex is £300-£350 new with a V setup the rest of spec is identical but i dont understand how a set of HS11's cost £300
  9. found this this guy is using an onza hub and it fits perfect. it does look like it needs a spacer disk side but then it might be a pain to set the caliper up.
  10. my t-pro is using snail cams with 116mm hub non disk though
  11. ive sent my FB link aswell. i dont think weve met i havnt rode trials for 2 years last time i rode was a reading xmas ride. so i just getting back into things
  12. If my memory serves me right normally meet at reading train station near the coach parking. well it was when i last went.if i can i will try meet up aswell
  13. I reckon he did spend an hour doing it as there was 2 other members of staff.im going there today to try for a refund, get him to do it again or buy a key and do the blimmin thing my self.if i was running a rear disk i wouldnt mind so much but having maggies and trying to set them up squarely is really hard .
  14. I thought i would ask as it took this guy about an hour
  15. Hi Mark i assume your the mark from tartybikes. just out of curiosity how long should it take to true, dish and lateral true a wheel if it already has been laced with no tension??
  16. i laced the wheel myself 3x i followed guides on the net and a lbs has also said i done a good job with the lacing just a shame about the guy that trued it.
  17. yes i checked all the spokes for length they was all the same the hub is the same as the old 1.
  18. just looked over the wheel again and there is a spoke that has bottomed out on the nipple and has no tension im no wheel builder and even i know thats wrong. ive got a trialtech sport rim double wall and the spokes stick out so much they actually come past the second wall.
  19. cheers for the advise. the guy who done my wheel claimed he used to ride trials so i guessed as he used to ride he would know how important it is for the wheel to be nearly perfect for brake setup which is proving a real pita to do,I will take a trip down there try get refund or give him the chance to try again failing that i will seek advise from TS.
  20. it is something i would like to learn to do save me money in the future.i will have a look an see if i have any old wheels i can practice on
  21. I think i will have to do that i dont like the idea of paying twice but if its going to be built the way its meant to be then i suppose its worth it. halfrauds charged £10
  22. I took it to both the lbs 1 said yer we can sort it out £25 and the other said he shouldnt be aloud to true wheels and it will cost £7-12.
  23. Hey all basically my rear hub was destroyed and i delaced the wheel but before doing that the wheel was true and round. all the spokes was nearly flush with top of the nipples. i relaced the wheel onto a new hub which was same as the old 1 so the flange etc was the same. I left no tension in the spokes i took the wheel to halfrauds and had it sorted but they guy who done the work claims he tried everything to remove the egg but could not do it also some spokes are half way into the nipples and some vary between 5-10mm. how can i get rid of the egg as its proving to be a nightmare setting the maggies up. sorry for going on
  24. Thought i would ask here. Can the trialtech 108 freewheel be opened up and made louder??
