  1. If by talent you mean the natural drive to do something for 10,000 hours because it's that important to you, that you keep pushing yourself and never get board and give up then yes that's what those people have. no one is just born and amazing trials rider or musician or artist it's learnt over many years of practice, you'v just got to have a passion for it.
  2. craigjames is right re-welding can cause stresses in the metal if done badly, there was probably hairline cracks in the metal when you got it. This post is bad timing for me as I'v just put up my fans frame for sale, which I'v had no problems with whatsoever.
  3. sick riding like how you just keep on riding hitting more stuff, I'm worn out after like one pedal kick lol. Only thing I'd say is you need to get some editing software so you can cut all these clips in to one sweet video
  4. cheers guys thanks for all the advice. I think it must be coming from my bar/stem as there was a creaking sound when I loosed and tightened the stem bolts so I'm defo guna check for cracks re grease stem bars contact point and think about replacing parts.
  5. cheers for the advice might give it a try so, I should cover all the headset parts in grease?
  6. Okay so every time I push down on my bars then release pressure it makes a noise, same when 180 pivot on the front wheel it creeks. It's driving me metal I can't trust my bike, I'v taken the whole headset apart and cleaned it. I'v taken the bars off and cleaned the stem an bolts applied some grease re assembled, all to no avail. I'm not sure whats doing it, as the bars seem to be sound and I haven't found any cracks in the forks it's definitely not the frame or brake, the crown race seems okay. has anyone else had a similar problem any ideas as to what it could be ? my set up is try all rage bars, trialtech sport stem, hope headset and echo SL forks.
  7. ok I stand corrected still doesn't make it any less impressive
  8. hydraulic disc brakes are definitely not hassle free, I'v spent so much time messing about with them in the past. you have to make sure they'r free of contaminants that there is no air in the system, that its not leeking, make sure the disc is true, check that both pistons are coming out and not getting stuck, make sure that the disc sits in the centre of the caliper. I'd go BB7 disc unless you can afford a brand new hydraulic, get a HS33, or just learn how to get a good vee set up. any type of brake should be powerful enough if you get the set up right. as for grinding its quit simple and angle grinders are cheap you can get a brand new one for £40
  9. very impressed riding was big and smooth nice to see some natural riding. great riding spots and the video quality was also top notch.
  10. awesome riding that course looked so hard can't believe jack's only 15 :0 what a beast doubt if I'l ever get that good
  11. some really good lines in there specially at the start, smooth total respect for you riding in the snow don't think I could, I'd be too scared that I might slip or something. nice little edit too all in all top notch how long you been riding?
  12. I cut every other side noble off my front tyre and saved 90g might not sound like much but that's the difference between an onza and a reset bottom bracket. It takes a while, but if your board and want something to do just use a Stanley knife. Can't say I'v noticed any difference in my riding from it though.
  13. no if you just do light/medium grinds with a new thin diamond/tile cutting disc your rim should last years.
  14. not bad mate how long you been riding?
  15. yeah I find this as well some days I can get em first time others it seems impossible. concentrate on your set up so that your comfortably hoping at your balance point befour you hop I find this helps me, and like the others said start small again and build it up bigger. Also I find it helps if you make a kung fu sound just before you hop
  16. wearing a helmet doesn't prevent you from having a crash...
  17. This is why I wear a helmet nowadays wobbly plastic bench onto rail was so sketchy [media=]
  18. got some sweet lines in there, you guys r gd really enjoyed it.
  19. I'm local so if there's a Colchester ride I'm totally up for it, as I'm sick of riding on my own.
  20. ow that's fair enough, I guess you could get a nice bit of wood for the top bit of figured maple or walnut. or a cool scratch plate if you don't have much money if you want it to be unique.
  21. yeah allot of people are so un adventurous, they think that if you make a guitar it has to be fender shape but you can really do anything you want. when I made my bass I just started sketching a outline onto the wood and kept refining it, rubbing bits out and making clearer lines, checking that it's semetrical get the curves right ect. and just went from there really. once I cut the ruff shape out on the band saw the rest came to me relatively easily . don't suppose that was much help but good luck with it any ways hope it goes well super glue is the thing for chips in varnish you can keep putting on dabs an letting it dry until it's level with the varnish and then level it of sand it with abit of wet n dry give it a polish gd as new lol cheers guess I'm just lucky enough to have a luthier as a dad so I get to do cool stuff like this in the workshop
  22. yes a bite mark would look silly it's hard to carve anything on a guitar and not make it tacky I'v just started a degree in guitar making in london loving it atm lots of planing her's a pic of one of the basses I'v made.
