  1. for the rear brake i would say a set of good pads will sort out your lack of bite / hold as it happens i have loads for sale the spongy feeling could be a poor bleed. as for the chain skip how is your chainline looking as this could be a problem
  2. From riding both bike trials and moto trials, i would stay stick to the bikes, don't get me wrong i really enjoyed the moto but i didnt find it as much fun if you intend to compete. I suppose it would be ok if alot of mates were competing along side you, but it can all become too serious too quickly and a bit of a waste of money.
  3. i'll be 34 probably still in the army and hopefully still riding, my baby boy will be 10 years old and i will be one of those pushy dads that make him ride trials / moto trials, even though he really just wants to play his playstation 15
  4. that is a front brake which wont work upside down on the left hand side and the hose will be too short for the rear
  5. I don't personally own the new hs33, but i tried one on a blokes bike and it did fell flexy around the lever area
  6. he has said he is 183cm tall (same height as me) and has riden mountain bikes with 26" wheels for 20 years so the obvious choice would be stock mate
  7. If you are used to a proper mountainbike then I would say go for a stock., keep posting the way you have been and i'm sure you will be validated in no time and can get involved in the forsale section, there really are some gems to be had for not alot of money. And everyone on here will help you out if you see a bike and need some advice.
  8. cheers jake it seems that the onza will be getting my vote as tarty dont seem to have alot else in stock
  9. you can make a crossover quite easy, as long as you have some hose and 2 barbed fittings
  10. i am currently running the round holed drilled one and the sidewalls are pretty angled and they grind about as well as cheese, the rockman hole may be an option as well, but how do they hold a grind
  11. cheers jake, are they drastically angled or just slightly, any chance of a pic of your rear brake area
  12. Good evening gents, I am in need of a new rear rim and I am being drawn to the onza pro diamond, what I want to know is if any one is using one and can give me there opinion on: Strength? Are the sidewalls straight? (not like try-all) How well does it hold a grind? Any other opinions would also be great. Please none of this, my mates brothers dog used one and it was sh*t / awesome. I am after first hand experiences. Thanks in advance.
  13. im pretty much a definite just gotta check with work
  14. are these the ones your after My link
  15. REAR - 05 Maggy, phat pads, tr clamps, tryall rim, TT 2 bolt booster, medium grind FORNT - XTR Vee, jagwire cable, coustsinks, TrialTech SL rim, light grind
  16. i clamped a set of smooth cams in a vice and used a very thin grinding disc and ground small notches in the cams and they work a treat

im running an xtr on the front for around 8 months and have had no problems with it
  18. he got his first bike for his birthday which was just over a year ago but didnt do much riding till after the winter, so probably around 8 months or so. anyway back on topic as kieran said i had to swap my tnn's over for my heatsinks mid ride on saturday, i'm not saying tnn's are inferior I just didn't have any confidence in them, at times they would perform quite well but then all of a sudden they would just stop holding then it would slowly come back again, so i thought their performance was not concistant enough for my liking
  19. i find that you get a far more solid lever feel with the metal backings, as long as they are set up nice and square, this is where some clamps like the echo tr come in handy (providing your mounts are square)
  20. just go to a local farm and ask them, or go to a tyre fitter they normally have lorry/tractor tyres
  21. I have heard of a few people on here saying that they were skipping during the bedding in stage, but none of them have came back on and said whether the skipping stopped once the freewheel had properly bedded in. I doubt that a top notch company like trialtech would put something on the market without first properly testing it and if it wasn't up to scratch I doubt they would realease it. I know this answer wasn't much of a help as to whether the Trialtech is any good, just trying to go a little more into depth rather than just saying "someone told me it skipped" as above you really cant go wrong with the SL
  22. i just got a mountain king supersonic 2.2 for the front of my stock and it seems to be a really good tyre. nice and light with decent stability. I'm not to sure it would work so well on the rear of a trials bike due to the single ply and pretty thin side walls. im currently running a big betty on the rear and it is fantastic.
  23. im in inverness as well from friday onwards, got a bit of a back injury so might not be doing as much riding as i would like but will definitely be coming along
  24. th foxx has a 70kg weight limit on it mate so if your under that i would assume it would be fine
