    Funny Bail :p

With friends like you... who needs enemies Not sure that qualifies as a bail, but im sure it could have ended worse.
  2. Looking for a good trials riser bar. Around 730mm minimum, preferably with relatively high sweep (got a bit of a wrist issue). Im not from Europe, so shipping prices kinda narrow down my options (so im afraid Tarty is probably out of the question) 1) Sixpack MENACE 720mm Handlebar - * 25mm rise * 9 degree backsweep * 5 degree upsweep 2) Sixpack MILLENIUM 760mm Handlebar * 25mm rise * 9 degree backsweep * 5 degree upsweep 3) FUNN Fatboy 750mm * 8° BACK SWEEP, 5.5° UP SWEEP *30 mm rise 4) Da Bomb Apache 750mm *25 mm rise * cant find information about rise/sweep - but it seems pretty high on both angles http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=34517 5) They all suck
  3. As usual with Maggies - its all about setting them up. I currently use them on both ends, and i dont see any practical reason to change. (except for the noise on some moist nights, as someone mentioned). They bite at least as good as 8" discs (otherwise, we'd all have discs on the back wheel, wouldnt we?) and modulation isnt horrible.
  4. Where can i find that video you're referring to? (revolver's) Mind posting a link?
  5. Safer for wrists? howcome? less stress and weight on palms? Considering i'm still recovering from fractures in both wrists, thats a big side to consider...
  6. Well, i need a new bar. Ridden riser bars my whole life (now running a 710mm Azonic riser). Whats the advantage of running Flat bars? How are they better, say, than a 710mm riser such as a Truvativ? Won't i find it harder to pull the front wheel up for hops and such? Opinions......?
  7. Sweeeet! enjoyed every moment of it! you guys kick ass, i'll give you that.
  8. Its the girl, right? Though i must say- while making the movie, i realized that sometimes my priorities really ARE like that.
  9. Well, here are a couple of clips i made for some contest held by Rudy Project. No trials here, but I hope its silly enough for you guys to enjoy it. (Plus, there's a hot semi-naked chick) The prize is a week long biking trip in Romania, so i would REALLLLLLLLLY appreciate it if you guys could vote (simply mark a "LIKE" on their page, then on the video itself) So... first video - how much we love our bikes. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=835219410#!/video/video.php?v=393743189778&ref=mf 2nd video - Biking and Fashion (half of it in English, sorry 'bout the Hebrew) http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=835219410#!/video/video.php?v=101989496515228&oid=112504990823 Their main page (you gotta vote here before u can vote on the video itself). We need all the votes we can get! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=835219410#!/pages/Rudy-Project-Israel/112504990823?ref=ts Hope you like it...
  10. Smooooooth. Though i must say- a Japanese rider with an annoying Spanish song in the background... i rather hear the brakes squealing. (And if he's actually Chinese/Korean and i just made a boob out of myself... bummer) Smooooooth. 11. Thanks. So, assuming the 105mm is 228g, the 120mm should be around 250 gr. which is around 90 gr more than the Trialtech (my mom's a math teacher, she must be so proud...) Plus the oversize bar issue - i think that settles it. Too bad, i love PlanetX stuff.
  12. Well, it currently has a Toxsin stem on, with a higher stack height than the TrialTech. So i can probably stick another spacer, which is nice. Bars are TryAll risers, so i'll probably manage. It'll probably ride just fine, dunno why im so picky
  13. Thanks. I'll probably go for the trialtech. It looks lighter, and when it comes to stems even a 100gr difference can be very noticable. Just wish Trialtech had a little more rise to it. not sure 17 degrees will be enough on my Toxsin.
  14. Still got that stem? if you do, drop me a line at liorda@bgu.ac.il

  15. Yes, it is Mark Anthony's actually. Was surprised to see someone selling so many stems (like, hundreds) without knowing their weight I got standard bars, so im cool with the size. Its either that, or spending another 10-15 quid on a Trialtech forged (which i know are light, but are 17degrees and i prefer 20). Anyway- its this stem, the 120mm "beam me up". (uploader didnt work, so im attaching the link) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Planet-X-Beam-Me-Up-Stem-120mm-20-degree-silver-/390111532213?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item5ad47594b5 If nobody's got the weight, i'll probably go for the trialtech just to be safe... (but it doesnt hurt checking)
  16. I wanna buy a Planet X 120mm (20 mm rise) stem from some dude on eBay... but he can't tell me how much it weighs. Im afraid i'll get stuck with a heavy piece of led.. Any one know the weight? are they any good?
  17. Thanks, but i'd rather start with the stem. Some bars tend to be more comfortable than others, but i think a stem affects the behavior of the bike more. (its a try-all bar, yup). Thing is, i havnt ridden the bike yet - im from Israel, and im waiting for it to be shipped to me from the UK. So i'd rather buy a stem now, and ship it with the bike, than ship a separate package later (shipping prices are INSANE). So im gonna buy a stem either way (and if i got money left - bars too). Just need to decide which.
  18. Well, its a question i get often (i work as a photographer) and the answer is pretty much always the same- 1) whats your budget? 2) what are your needs? generally, all major manufacturers (primarily Nikon and Canon , and also Fuji and Sony) make killer DSLR nowadays. you can't really go wrong. all of them are faster and sharper than the most expensive models 5 years ago (which were good enough for world class photographers back then). if your budget is limited, stick to a "beginners" DSLR body and try to get the best lens possible. Lenses like 18-200 are usually crap, so you're better off with 2 seperate lenses. Then, i'd reccomend you get an external flash. It adds SO MUCH to your photos (when used correctly), especially in technical shots like sports and such. The camera body is your last upgrade. If you got the cash, go for a higher end body (Nikon D300 or D700 for instance). A mediocre body with good lenses will outperform the best, most expensive, DSLR body with cheap lenses. its a fact. You need to think "how can i get more from my DSLR", rather than "which DSLR can give me more functions and performance". Dunno if that helped... goodluck though.
  19. Just bought a new (used) Toxsin bike, and im looking to change the stem it has right now. (a low rise, 100mm i believe, Toxsin stem). The frame specs are 1095 wheelbase, +35mm bb rise, 390mm chainstays, 72degrees (i think) head angle. I was thinking of something like 120mm. 20 degree rise - but most my friends tell me i should probably take something a bit higher. Im an intermediate rider. 181cm tall. Got all the basic moves dialed, just need to start going bigger. Need something that will suit the bike best. Any professional advice? (bike picture here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3779666/toxsin.jpg ) uploader doesnt work
  20. Chicks dig scars. Just make sure you get a better cover story, cuz "i fell of my bike" always sounds gay (doesnt matter if you just jumped off a 30 foot cliff). For all my girlfriend knows, my latest scar involves a burning building, a crying helpless baby, and 3 ninjas (the black, sneaky, kind).
  21. Thanks, its good to hear some solid opinion. Could you compare them to frames like the Zoo/Echo? Having ridden the JackFlash for the past 2 years, i realized i also like to flow stuff. i.e - bunnyhops, spins etc... The Toxsin simply strike me as being very long. I cant even find decent pictures of it online (only pictures taken from an angle, which you cant see the frame angles from) ....got any?
  22. Nם thanks, im a Stock guy... Been riding stock for a long time, cant imagine getting a mod. besides, most of my riding is AM and XC riding, and i've been riding for over 10 years, so im totally used to 26" by now. About the pitbull... sorry, but i dont feel comfortable saying prices for other people. Thats something to ask the seller
