  1. xD That was kinda harsh on jack to be honest, i'd trust him with my bike. Probs not my king though
  2. You seriously think I'd steal it? It is incredibly nice looking but I'd never stoop that low.
  3. Give the boys at TartyBikes a call, i've seen posts from a yank saying how happy he was that he got the parts shipped over.
  4. Debuild rear wheel, attach hub with disk back into frame, spin wheel, use as cutting disk to grind rim? Lol idk.. Anyway, that looks absolutly sexual, cant wait untill someone near me buys one so it can conviniently go missing during the night.... *cough*
  5. 18:12 is mainly for mods and I think it'd be VERY strange to see it on a stock. Stocks is normally 22:18? Or 22:16?
  6. I forgot his name (Not him) He is ledge, nicest feeling stock i've ridden although i've only rode like 3-4 stocks? Ah well
  7. Safe guys, I trust jack to survive using 1p coins as snailcams for a day... That was entertaining xD I know for a fact woody is safe And most of the reading guys i've met to be honest (ross g, forgot his name(sorry) but he rides a verry nice red and green ashton, dan etc) Ordered my new chain for the ride, ask jack + woody if you dont believe how f**ked it is (from getting to bike it was taut and now its almost hitting the chainstays with cams tugged as far back as maggy mounts will allow) And I have a braided crossover on its way. to be honest all I can do is fit parts, bleed brakes and... Look pretty? As previously my maint fails.
  8. Heya guys. I'm attending the ride on Reading 27th. And, although this might sound cheeky i'm going to ask anyway - No harm done. As I'm fairly new to trials I still semi-fail at maintenance and I have a problem or two, listed below.... I keep having rear wheel problems, pads rubbing on rim etc. I'm wondering if anyone could please help me true my wheel? Maybe if we have enough time someone could have a quick once over on the bike and look for any other problems? Cheers

    Sidehops

I didnt realise I had to kick and releast brake I can now get better height but only half the time does the rear wheel sit at the same height when at the peak of the hop. The other half the front end is nearly vertical xD Guess practice makes perfect to be honest.
  10. Just go to local bikeshop and ask for a cheap headset. Got top and bottom cups for a £5 and fitted aswell and havnt had any problems with it, never really saw it as a part that needed to be decent.

    Sidehops

Right guys, recently started learning to sidehop... I fail hardcore to be honest. Instead of going sideways I go backwards diagonal and land so vertical on rear wheel that it aparently looks like I'm riding a unicycle from behind.... Anyway, can anyone help explain whats going wrong? Also, I move like 12" from the original position but get f**k all height.
  12. I go to the gym quite alot, for those of you that know Woody and Chinners im probs inbetween their heights (dnno what it is exactly but if you know them it gives a rough idea). Also on the border between 10/11stone despite having a bit of pudge. I go to the gym whenever I can (3-4 times a week). Normally do a 5min cycle warm up, 5mins on rower set at 8, 3min jog followed immediatly by a 2min sprint and then go onto resistance training. I work arms / shoulders (the back part of my arms seem to tire quicker while doin trials), chest, abs and then upper back. If I can't get to a gym then I generally do 25 pushups, 20 situps and 10 pullups. It doesnt matter how strong you're for push / pull / sit ups as it depends mainly on weight. I stretch as often as possible, I'd start with legs kinda crossed? But with feet touching. Push down on your knee's, this will increase your flexibility in the legs, for arms i just put them behind my back, make them straight and then push against my hands. Doesnt sound like much but it helps. To stretch my abs (on a trials you're bent forward often so its good to have them loose) go into a push up possition but rest on your hips instead of toes, this will stretch out your stomach.
  13. Crowthornes where its at boys xD I know of at least 3 other trials riders in Crow, never ridden with them and only actually know 1 of them but still, we're around here somwhere. I'll be at battle of the bands tomorrow at K2 so if you're going we can have a quick chat and organise some riding for the weekend?
  14. I'm under Ross' front wheel in this shot. He's a mint guy and an ace rider, despite the rain that was an alright day
  15. My onza caged pedals are absulutly amazing, hardly ever slip but when you do it bloody hurts. to be honest they're worth the money, when they're worn down they're easier to replace the cages etc and i've never had them come loose on me either

    Geo ?

I have an 05/06 Echo Team and my headtube looks awesome xD I like the strange shapes cut out it
  17. Measure the rotor, from edge to edge it should be roughly 16cm. If its 18cm / 20cm then It's 180mm / 203mm respectivly
  18. Pm the author of this thread about a 180mm Hope rotor and Pm the author of this thread about the Magura Qm-6 post mount. (Make sure you tell him front)
  19. You're welcome. Because i'm used to a mod and don't get on with stocks I'd personally stay away from that bike but it is a very good bike for a begginer and i'm sure you'll have a laugh on it
  20. Mod = 20" Bike Stock = 26" Bike (The bike you bought is a stock) 24" = 24" Bike
  21. If I use a smiley then I don't feel the need to use a fullstop as it already creates a break in text. JT! Lol
  22. I was infact taking the piss. If you notice after the break in the page (the dash's) I return to my normal way of typing and welcome him to the forum.
  23. Are you sure thats all? I'm bored and would like to continue this talk if you're up for it?
  24. Well I bought this deal. So far they're absolutly amazing I used to run a 127.5mm bb with 158mm cranks and imo the change was amazing. Feels so much nicer and they're alot more durable than my old Monty TI cranks (sqaure taper) as they've had about 2-3 hard bashes on a wall with little to no scratches and none of those deep. Where as my old monty cranks with have deep gashes after a light knock on a wall. Its up to you (and i'd make sure the bb length will fit your set up) but from my experiance they're great
  25. I've noticed that if i set it up with pistons fully pushed in i have more modulation but if i take the wheel off and pull the lever very slowly and not very far in and then slip the wheel + disk back in the lever should be a lot more solid and have more bite. Keep the pads in for this! I wouldnt mess with this too much incase you do it too far and damage the pistons etc. If the pistons go too far use an alan key to push them back in. Remove the pads when pushing the pistons back in! Edit* For a stock I would suggest getting a larger rotor (185mm / 203mm) if my method does not work.
