  1. Would some tensile offset maggie mounts not do the trick?
  2. It may be worth giving tartys a ring and explaining your situation, if your considering a bike they stock they may let you go down to have a feel of what they're like before you buy. Other than that try and get out to a ride nearby and maybe try and blag a quick go on someones ride. If your just starting though I'd probably recommend a 20", they're easy to pick up the basics on and a lot of fun. I've always ridden a 26" and built a 20 up recently for a bit of fun and I find myself riding that more now!
  3. Welcome mate to the forum. Good to here your making a comeback afetr a long break, there's been a lot of riders signing up recently who've been off the scene for the past 5-10 years! If your after a stem then your best having a look on tartybikes website, I've done the same as you after riding stock years ago I've built myself a mod up as well and I use a trialtech race forged one which gives a fair amount of length and rise. As for a freewheel you can't go wrong with either of the tensiles or if you can afford it the Echo SL 108 would be ideal. Complete spares can be bought for the tensiles whereas the Echo is renowned for being quite indestructable, I've got both so can recommend either depending on your budget. As for hubs I built my mod on a relatively low budget for new stuff and I've found the Onza sealed hubs to be just fine for the job at hand, if not you won't go wrong with some trialtechs but again its down to your budget. Hope that helps!
  4. Kinell, works dragging tonight!! STill, could have a job that required doing something other than sitting on trials forum for 8 hours solid!

haha top lad, where you working?

  5. It's funny that as I've got a Zona Zenith that Martyn Ashton was all set to ride in a new European Championship that was devised by Onza after they managed to sign him on a 10 year sponsorship deal. However, someone had misspelled the word european in the contract and actually written 'load of b******s' which made the deal null and void so Martyn happened upon my number after picking a random name out of the phonebook and decided to give it me. True story!
  6. Splashing out for tea tonight, I'm on les spaghetti de coupe courts sur le toast

  7. I'd suggest Marino but I assume you want it soon?
  8. Just what is TGS??

  9. not much interesting to read on here, when I've finished my brew the dumbells are coming out. GUNSHOW!

  10. Last time I went was Bike '99, got my Mint Sauce T signed by loads of riders that were there as well!
  11. I'd recommend some trialtech cranks, the top ones on tartybikes crank page, and if they're goin on a mod I'd recommend the 170mm's. Think that's what length mine are on my python!
  12. This is the problem, I run a 2ghz processor an 4gig ram which will just about play hd without spitting its dummy out but editing is a royal pain in the ass! Your best bet is to convert it to the best possible resolution your pc can handle without it jerking about so as not to lose too much quality!
  13. First thing I learnt was how to wheely but that was like when I was about 10 so the proper first trialsy thing I learnt was a bunnyhop with no toe clips!! Currently trying to get my head round gapping to front or going up to front then transfering but I just can't physically or mentally commit over the front, I pedal kick forward but barely go anywhere as I'm trying to get my weight over the front but not giving the jump any momentum. Other than that it's trying to half pedal/bunnyhop straight to rear on bigger things and keep the front end up, currently can just about manage 2½-3ft high. And what the hell is a frenchie??
  14. Just to warn you mate new members aren't allowed to sell on the forum till they're validated!
  15. It's funny you should say that, I did my zenith at work in my signal box which is really small so I opened all the windows to get rid of the fumes but there was no smell at all!
  16. Dont get it in your eyes if you wear contact lenses, its not good, trust me!
  17. I've used it for 3.1.3 on mine and few friends phones and it's worked fine. No good if you want to unlock to any network but I don't need that so nothing to worry about!
  18. Solo, only me, my cousin and another lad locally who ride. My cousins very defeatest so if he does ever come out and he can't pick something up very quickly he gives up so he hasn't been out for about 2-3 months. As for the other lad he's only just started and bought a mod but cause of the shift pattern I work I mostly ride in the day when he's working.
  19. Just so you know I wasn't advising GT85ing the Sl as it will void the warranty, was advising it on the Tensile of Trials Owns. Tensile ffw's are greased when new which tends to stick the pawls up and causes them to skip whereas the SL's are only thinly oiled. A good soaking complete or opened up should sort the Tensile out for you. As for the SL I gaurantee that tartybikes will say there's nothing wrong if you ring them as they are almost indestructable, I would have thought it is just down to the tightness of it!
  20. Have you flushed yours out with a bit of GT85?
  21. You might be able to get bits if you go straight to magura, could be worth a try? If not there's someone in for sale section who's got a load of magura spares, might have the bits for the job there!
  22. Was used by my best mate when he was smashed an tryin to chat a bird up who was stood with her boyfriend. When he said it the bf looked like he were gonna smack him an I just started pissin maself!
  23. I've got one of each and I'd say the SL feels better, the tensile's main plus point is the fact you can easily get spares to completely rebuild it although with the SL you'll never have to!
