  1. this not worth stealing one is pretty good!!
  2. maybe i will go for 185 after all... and yes i am still riding - who is that!?!?!?
  3. well from wilkinsons like he said! and probably pretty cheap as its wilkinsons.
  4. mine did the same thing too there is a crunchy noise but it is still rideable also in the non drive side the piece of metal that covers the bearings has cracked all the way round and snapped off. still using it though until a new bb comes through. even with the knowledge of this problem im still getting another tryall bb... my one lasted me a year until this problem arose, but it was extremely good up until now though. Tom
  5. lots of people have complained about the 06 echo rms however i had one of the very first 26 ones in the country as i ordered it from adam a couple of days before they arrived in the country. mine is still very solid and has a slight buckle but no 'egg' spots or folds etc. i really like the echo 06 rim but dont like the look of the new version pictured above and so will probably go back to koxx rims once my echo one finally gives in...
  6. just thought i would give this topic a little kick up the bum to get it viewed again so more people will come ride with me and ash when we are in cornwall in a couple of weeks... come on peoples get yourselves down to cornwall for a riding sesh or several. Tom
  7. how much for the adapter then as they are about £8 new
  8. ok then lads - 203 it is!!!
  9. ok i am considering to changing to an avid bb7 disc brake. my question is: are the calipers always the same size on bb7s and you simply change the adaptor mount to change size, or are caliper sizes different too?? i am considering getting a 160 one but i ideally want a 185 one and so need to know asap so i can get the sale sorted. any help is much appreciated... cheers, Tom
  10. you need to aim to get about 1.2 ish when you divide the numbers ie 22:18 22 / 18 = 1.2222222 so go for other similar ones depending on what size you want torun up front 18:15 16:14
  11. the gt hadley hub is not too bad in terms of engagement etc, however as has been said they don't properly hold up to the stresses of trials. best bet is to go for a hope xc / mono which are very similar to the hadley but last longer. Tom
  12. yes... bromleybike.co.uk or tartybikes
  13. you can definantly grind the anodised sidewalls off, it just gives of bad fumes and clouds! it goes silver just like a normal rim would then. i had mine done before tartybikes realised it was killing them! poor adam.
  14. i would say go for the ronnie as it has large sidewalls and is also strong
  15. a fixed hub like the dmr revolver can have a cog or freewheel threaded on to it, whereas a fixed rear hub like the echo / koxx ones have a normal cassette body and so you put cassette cogs on and have to run front freewheel
  16. you are still in new members because you have not yet been validated. the blocks symbolise how many posts you have made on the forum. i think it is something like you get your second block on your 50th post. the more posts you make, the more blocks will be under your name over time. Tom
  17. i am also hesitating on whether to get the short control or the ashton. i have been on ash kennard's long control and it felt pretty nice, but not quite right. so i went on fatmike's short control in bristol and that just felt sooo nice. there is also the fact that watching porter on the ashton on sunday was very inspirational. so if i get a control its definantly going to be the short one, but now im also liking the ashton... they are fairly similar geometry wise though. Control 1065 Wheelbase: 1065mm Chainstay Length: 375mm BB Rise: 10mm Head Angle: 72 degrees Ashton Wheelbase: 1065mm Chainstay Length: 380mm BB Rise: 20mm Head Angle: 72 degrees the ashton has slightly longer chainstays with slightly more bb rise. i'm stuck!
  18. that sloganizer gives some naff answers! i put in "trials biking" and got loads of weird slogans! like 'you're in good hands with trials biking' and 'have a break, have a trials biking' and 'trials biking, your family will love you' wtf!!! it has had a couple of reasonable ones though : 'trials biking is a never ending story' 'there is no life without trials biking' 'trials biking - as good as it gets' 'trials biking - a class of its own' 'trials biking - forget the rest' it just comes up with a load of random sayings and puts trials biking in some random place! more answers it came up with: 'BikeTrials - One name, One legend' 'This womder has a name, BikeTrials' 'BikeTrials, Push your limits' 'BikeTrials, love it or leave it' 'BikeTrials - what more could you want?'
  19. i'm 16 and also feeling the same pressures. i want more time now to socialise with mates, go to partays and stuff. i also need to make time for exams and things that are coming up. i'm trying to get back into riding again, and the bristol ride tomorrow should really kick this off, but things always break and die and stuff which kinda pi55es you off as you never seem to have any money! i am definantly going to try and keep going for as long as possible, but feel it's pretty much all down hill from here unfortunately. well i'll have to see what the bristol ride is like tomorrow, should boost some spirits and make me want to carry on forever! Tom just watching some of porters vids has made me want to keep riding!! have to see what happens...
  20. lush!!! the leesons seem like a good frame. leeson uses steel which is stronger than ali (generally) but heavier deng frames are good so why would you not consider any of them???
