  1. same here ive sent a couple off before and it has cost about £7 something for special recorded 1st class thingy. that was with lots of packaging around the wheel, ie a bloody great cardboard box taped up to protect the wheel. however tartybikes just put the wheel in a black bin liner and tape it up which would be much lighter and therefore much cheaper to send off. the wheel doesnt need lots of protection in the post as they are strong anyway, and if they needed lots of packaging for the wheel then places like tartybikes would do so. sending wheels are actually very cheap compared to what i thought it would be. Tom
  2. they are very easy to grind i find the only grind that may be hard on the 06 rim is the very first one because of the coloured sidewalls. i got the tart to do my first grind to get rid of all the coating on the sidewalls, but now it is very easy to grind. the 06 rims hold grinds amazingly well get one they are awesome
  3. i got one of the 06 echo rims a few weeks back now and its gorgeous!!! very wide but gives nice stability. holds a grind amazingly and even light grinds work really well very strong
  4. my first bike was an onza tvee with maggies. was an ok starter bike. i then got an onza t-pro, but then i went up in the world and got a 26inch - old style t-rex. now im on a pretty nice revell 26inch. rides lush! Tom
  5. there is no address its just a disused garage. it starts at 10am and goes on til we're done!! just go to newtown near wickham and you cant miss it Tom
  6. well i'm selling one he used very little. he got it resprayed yellow by revell as a spare frame but wants it gone. £180 ono. get back to me if interested. he used it at nass this year and for about two comps. very good condition as hes a proper smooth rider and has had just a couple of hours riding basically spec is koxx and tryall parts. fsa stem azonic double wall bars mainly koxx/tryall though
  7. i spoke to terry graves the other week before sending my form off and he said it was fine not to have a license for this event because it is just a big sesh and not a comp. oh and i'm there should be awesome. i was riding there the other week and it was great. some things have changed since last time but there are so many lines and things to do there. it gonna be a good one see you there lads, Tom
  8. those pics are very old. they are of the first proto model that was not released. i am actually now using that black frame as pictured above in the pics posted by you and sam. however i do not have any close up pics of just the frame. what was it you were actually interested in dave, as i may be able to help out. Tom george riding the frame when he had it - vvv
  9. the michelin comp 24s are very good for pinch protection. mine was very good and i had it for quite a while. the only problem is that after alot of bashing about, the metal beading in the sidewall pierced through the tyre and kept on giving me punctures that was really anoying but i think its because i couldnt be arsed to get a new tyre and kept on running it down. other than that it was great Tom oh and i never got a pinch
  10. here are some of mine at the moment: Chris Doney www.cdtrialsport.co.uk one of me at the NBR comp - i like it because its so sunny www.mansbridge.f2s.com / www.denmeadbiketrials.co.uk one of george jordans old bike and this one of George Jordan riding, because its so casual Tom
  11. i'm running a koxx 127.5 isis bb and it is great! ok they are a bit pricey but they are well worth the money i think. if not there are alot of different fsa isis bb's that seem popular. Tom
  12. mine would probably have to be ash-kennard i was dropping and he rode under me :'( he got a fat hand and i was fine :'( Tom
  13. andy i thought your ten foot drop to grass in IOW was crazy, and now you go and do it to concrete!!! good effort mate (apart from the broken parts) when you did the 10ft drop four times in IOW everyone was confused at why your bb and bb were still holding up - but i think we can say they finally gave way! Tom
  14. me and a couple of others will probably be riding fareham on sunday so we will probably give you a ring later in the week :P possibly go to pompey but i fancy a smaller fareham ride really Tom
  15. DO NOT put it in a vice to try to get the cog off - me and a mate tried and squashed the driveshell and it was a hell of a job for the tart to sort out (cheers adam :( ) Tom
  16. ive done 7 foot 2 inches before, flat to flat on pallets (4 to 4) i can probably consistantly do around 6.5 ft but when i try really hard, can get further i may now actually be able to better 7ft2 as this was about 2 months ago :(

  18. i should be able to come. sounds like it'll be a good one :shifty: Tom
  19. go for try-alls or rebos, i have try-alls myself and they are very nice
  20. i had a koxx rim and after a while it just started to fold this is partly because the rim had so many grinds and was wearing thin, and was pretty old, but all is good now as i have one of the new echo rims :D
  21. i went from mod to stock probably around 10 months ago now and i enjoy it MUCH more than when i rode mod stocks are definantly the best !!! ^_^ :D Tom
  22. i was speaking to adam on monday night about getting a wheelbuild. i was going to get my king built onto an onza hog rim until he said that the new parts would be in the next day! i changed my mind and asked for the new echo rim instead. he should be sending it back today and so i will recieve it tomorrow. the reviews of the new rims are good which is why i decided to try one. they are reasonably priced and supposed to be extra strong, with doubly thick sidewalls to take twice as many grinds which is good! all in all most of the new echo parts sound great :-
  23. yes it did a very big skip then, but has not done so since. my acs skip was worse lol.
  24. cheers mate. i could gap 7 ft 2in a wile a go, so may be able to get further now but hopefully if i learn pinch gaps it may get further (Y)
