  1. its basically a static gap but instaed of using a little bit of roll when you gap, you take off right from the edge/corner of the object. its quite a hard technique if find. when practising off kurbs i nearly always bounce off the road, so dont actually get that far. also my gaps are very powerful and i am used to using quite a bit of roll before the edge to get lots of power. dan, its basically just lots of practise until they work for you, and themn its even more practice ro get further! Tom
  2. sounds good i'll be there at 10.40 (Y) Tom
  3. so is the ride still on for tomorrow despite the bad weather forecast? if so then im definantly coming (Y)
  4. same here, ive only ever had small skips, ususally ones that you can hear but not feel! never had a full rotation though.
  5. pics came out well george the wall is pretty good but its only about 36.5 inches at its highest point which is a shame oh and sam, george thinks he is danny b! (Y) Tom
  6. i managed to get t the other day when i was just looking around for some videos!?!?!?!
  7. i like koxx red and yellows on a grind, and the browns are supposed to be good too. im using yellows at the moment :P
  8. go for a hope mono mini front disc they are amazing
  9. me and a couple of mates went thirds on a bleed kit a while back and the bleedkit is the easiest way to get a decent bleed again imo. a couple of little kids round my area have just bought trials bikes after seeing me and some mates riding around, and one of the bolts came loose at the slave cylinder for one of the kids and his dad paid me to bleed it and sort the problem out for him! i only used water so a fiver for a 2 minute job isnt too bad! bleed kits are very easy to use, its just getting one in the first place that can take a couple of days, but once youve got it your sorted forever! Tom
  10. hope headsets are extremely good and are very much like kings, but without the huge king pricetag! cane creeks are pretty good too.
  11. i run 16:14 with 170mm burns. a pretty low gear but i like it  20:19 is very low! i think the normal with 20t on the front is 20:17
  12. if the cranks bb and crankbolts are new then they do need a little while to bed themselves in, so after a short while they will stop coming loose - or atleast they should do.
  13. i quite liked the feel of sam's bike on the back wheel. i found it easy to control even when i rode mod, and now that i ride stock it seems even nicer on the back wheel.
  14. i live around the same area but have not seen anyone riding around on a tpro though. will keep a look out when i ride fareham etc. Tom
  15. it shouldnt cost much at all as i think hosing is pretty cheap and you only need a little bit for the cross over, and then get it rebled. halfords and other bike shops can do this but will rip you off, and there are loads of topics on the forum about rebleeding a break yourself, and its a really easy process so search the forum on info for how to rebleed. you may even get away with not needing to buy new hosing, as if it is long enough you can cut it down and reuse the old crossover ( if it split at the end ) but if it split in the middle you will definantly need a new bit of hose. Tom
  16. when i had a mod my acs went quite bad after a while. near the end of its life it pretty much opened right up and all i had to do was carefully tighten it up again. it used to need doing up quite regularly. its probably best to replace it because when they start to undo themselves they also start to eat away at themselves on the inside ans end up skipping alot. i was going for a reasonable gap when it skipped four times in one kick which made my feet travel over half a crank rotation and i went straight over the bars. luckily i managed to stick my arms out in time but that made my mind up that i should get a new one. at the time i was in the process of selling my bike and i made sure that i replaced the freewheel before it went as it was so dangerous. if i was you i would get a new one before it turns too bad. doing it up every now and then will work for a while but then it starts to get really bad and dangerous so i would order a new one pretty soon if i was you so that it does not cause some serious injury by skipping and sending you over the bars etc. Tom
  17. ash's hub does seem to have quite nice engagement but sometimes it decides to skip alot. it seems to go through phases of being really good and then skipping alot for £32.50 they have great engagement for the money but they seem to go quite quickly :P thats not entirely true as it goes through phases of skipping loads and ash gets angry, but then it also goes through stages of being perfect  overall they are good for the fact that they are only £32.50 but they do not entirely withstand trials usage as ash has shown since he has been through 3 in quite a short space of time Tom
  18. then why no just take the rotor off, rather than taking the whole bike in!?!
  19. i would say the original echo one. i have got an echo one and an rb one which im no longer using so pm me if you are interested  Tom
  20. i used to use a shimano un73 sq bb and they are great. they are 16.99 from chain reaction, and are pretty amazing for the money. also they are available in quite a few sizes. so i'd go for a shimano un73 if you want square taper as there is no point spending lots of money on a square taper bb when this one is good and cheap. if you decide to go isis then i personally feel you would be better off spending a bit more money and go for a koxx one. Tom
  21. that sounds good ash. you may get stung on shipping but its definantly worth ringing them up to check how much the final cost would be - but it will definantly save you alot of money. Tom oh and yes i am in graphics
  22. thats $255 you idiot! works out at £141.227 which is a bargain! (but you wil have to pay shipping) wiggle DO have some 6 speed ones ash, theyve got some for £224.09 at the moment, but they only have 36h unfortunately Wiggle - profile 6 speed shall keep looking :D Tom on the profile website they also have a single speed one with a choice of cog sizes for the same price as the 6 speed one (£141.23) speak to profile if i was you ash as £141 is really cheap compared with places like wiggle. also, wiglle only have 36h, whereas profile website has 32h as well! and even with shipping on top it shouldnt be too expensive, or not compared with the english prices anyways.
  23. ive just remembered that mine is slightly longer than advertised because i have got two crown racers at the bottom of the steerer! i am running it like this because the front end felt too low, even though it is around normal sort of heiight at 39 inches. i have a hope headset and so have the hope crown race, but to add height i am running a cane creek crown race beneath the hope one. this adds height to the headtube which changes the headtube angle and adds length. Tom
  24. they are advertised at 1015 to 1035 on tertybikes with echo urban forks, but mine is more like 1040 with zoo urban forks which are the same! weird! and theats with the wheel almost as far forwards as possible to make the back end shorter, so i could make it longer but it would not be so nice on the back wheel. so roughly 1015 to 1040 ish. Tom
