  1. All sections above High tide unless you want some wave dodging sections. The boys were wave dodging last weekend and only Aaron went in and Its on camera as well.
  2. As long as its not too wet, it will suit the (no mud or anything thats not grippy) team. Just a wee poke to get 2013 started. Only one Bob Mac this year and it will be grippy as well!
  3. At the rocks at the power station you came to last year with Ryan. Just waiting on East Lothian Council to get back with the ok hopefully.
  4. ThanksTT It is just word doc that is one page with the Scottish dates on it and a club membership form. It just comes back with "you do not have permission to upload these documents"
  5. My PM facility has gone and I tried to down load some Word pages today with event dates and membership forms. The forum comes back with I am not allowed to upload these! Also it has never allowed me to upload pics? Thanks Kevin
  6. Membership forms and event dates will be on Bike Trial Federation website soon. Rnd1 18th Saturday May Kirkliston (cycle event) Good to go entries will be up soon here and on webpage Rnd 2 8th Saturday June Fort William UCI down hill weekend inc British championship Rnd 3 30th June East Lothian Rocks on beach at Cockenzie power station Rnd 4 28th July Kinlochleven Rnd 5 25th August Killin Rnd 6 8th September Bob Macgregor Ayrshire. inc British round. Best five of six count. (Fairer if you cant make Fort William) Some changes. The Fort William shall only be a one day for Scottish and awards on that day as well. It is still a British two day with awards on Sunday. It will be a choice to the rider if he only rides Sat or Sun or Both. If you want Scottish points then as previous years you will need to join the club, if not then you only score British points on the Saturday. If I can find another venue then I shall add it in towards the end of the year ( maybe as a non champ round) but as of now six rounds.
  7. I love big bang now and Pink Floyd I was into before you were a bairn. Thank yous are always a great deal when you are thanked for all the hard work. But if you get one then great but it is not why we(I) do it. read other post. What is nice is when somebody lets me say thank you for their help before or during the event. So from me thanks to those who helped with Paperwork and results Pauline and Caron and the Observers through the year. The help with section marking and the best help for me is the section take down and flag sorting at the end of the day. The club is begining to move and get bigger and this years Fort William was a great success apart from the midges and I hope to improve it next year more in the arena and less in the burn. I really want to make Bobs a great event.
  8. Hi Robin, If TJ and Aaron are riding in Expert next year and I dont know if Charlie or Adam are moving up but I see Charlies name at Expert at club level, and there is always enough 26" wheel expert then perhaps there may be? If these (regular attending) four are in 20" expert with perhaps some others, then can it be looked at again medal wise as I think that would give these YOUNG 12 to 15 years old lads a good reason to ride all year. Just a medal at the end of the day means alot as has been stated.
  9. FROM THE REAL NORTH. Being new to the scene with my two boys riding and myself being involved with motorbike trials and enduros for many years, traveling long distances to get there, as Rolls say its for the fun and the weekend away with the family, meeting new people and new venues. The boys compete and come home knackered and happy. Its what we love, if we didnt then we wont. If you start the season with an attitude of why bother then perhaps its not for you. Times are hard (I couldnt afford the two rounds down south this year due to being screwed over by a company but hopefully will next year). We drove a five hour round trip on Holiday to see the Italian BIU round. Its a choice you have to use your hard earned money for what you enjoy. I make the effort to go to these events and organise the Scottish rounds because I get great enjoyment out of it and even if I only get eight riders at some events, its still worth the effort. When I was a lad we chucked as many bikes in the back of a van and chipped in for diesel and camped when we had to, as I earned £30 a week and couldnt afford bikes, vans, diesel and hotels. It is perhaps time we looked at the cheaper options to do what we like doing. (I am that old) It seems a very British attitude of doom and gloom and I can be guilty as anyone but sod them I am living for the memories of life and I have a few that put a smile on my face and intend to have many more.
  10. Nae probs, Rab is back from his wanders up mountains and some of the team is going from here on Sunday. Have a good one. Barn if the weather isnt ok.
  11. Me and the boys will be at the World indoor round on the 5th. If anybody is up for a Sunday ride around the area then we will stay down Saturday night and join in?
  12. East Lothian coast has plenty to offer in natural and street and if the weather turns crap then you can come to the barn. There is also Portobello with loads of rocks and streety prom. Just a suggestion for Sunday. Lots of churches for Ben to upset the locals.
  13. Cant't do Saturday as me and zee boyz have a family doo, dho! AQnyway have a guid one and all.
  14. There should always be some one to help get you to the events. I have a van and Rab (Edinburgh comp rider) has a van. There was a French rider in 2010 at Uni here who came to the comps and the rides. He did complain about the temp and the rain alot!!! We will get you sorted when you arrive.
  15. Hi Ronan, There are a few riders in Edinburgh. Mix of street and comp riders. There are quite a few over in East Lothian (just outside Edinburgh) near Haddington. We have a barn for the long winter nights and a lot of good comp areas along the coast and a small outdoor trials park. My number and em address are on the Bike trial federation website under the clubs section, as I organise the Scottish comps. Please get in touch and get out with the team. Kevin
  16. Hi All. Yoshi is coming up! on his way home and we have organised a ride on Saturday around midday. Dry ish will be at Cockenzie power station North end car park behind boat yard. If wet I will orgaise access to the Barn near Haddington for the afternoon.
  17. Hopefully bring some of the team from East Lothian over. You can organise the comps in the streets next year as you are getting more riders for your street bashes!!!
  18. The east coast is much safer and we have a load of streety stuff for the stubby bike team and I can point Ben to some churches to upset the local spirit of fun. Which is always fun in my book. The Barn is open if it rains!!! But Glasgow is fine by me.
  19. We are the comp riders at Haddington. We haveindoor barn sessions through the winter usually on a Tuesday night and are out most weekends somewhere in East lothian or occassionally into the big smoke. Just keep an eye on the organised rides. I also run the Scottish bike trial club, but the last event is over for the year. look for the club in the comp section for next years date later in the year if you are interested.
  20. Hi Team, Had a great day in the sun with the boys. Loved Bens leap of faith!! highlight of the day.
  21. You dont even want to know what the initation is from them. The Masons are very very scared (or should that read the Mansons) Stay away youngun. Be afraid be very afraid.
  22. Hi Felix, Send me your new address by the club em biketrial@tiscali.co.uk and I will post on your third place award. Glad you enjoyed this year and its nice to get a feed back that says what the club tries to achieve. Ben Swales was third in Inter. I will bring your award to Shipley. Season over, so I hope you all enjoyed it and it was good to see another lot of new riders. I hope to see you all next year. I will post up 2013 event dates when the British dates have been posted later in the year, then I know if Fort William is on. Please feel free to comment on what could be better or venues for next year. I already have one new one to look at in the Borders and another at Loch Lomond if I can find the bit of paper the guy gave me. Kevin
