  1. Weather so far is nae looking to bad, but its Scotland. Been down tweaking the sections.
  2. Hi George, you can but I would like as many entries in before the event, as this lets me get paperwork organised, rather on the day. Enty forms will be posted here and at the federation events page this week.

    Competition Guide

Brilliant Adam, just what the comp scene needed well done, just need to get it out there to the uneducated masses. Glad Ross gave you the missing subtitle for the video for the non weegies.
  5. Naw, its those lime green grips, the bike just wanted to die with its owner dressing it in lime green. Poodles are cheaper than a new frame and like being dressed up. great mental image especially in Glasgow, you could train it to do tricks, so you could still come out and play.
  6. Nah ordered new van yesterday, memberships will go up to £1500 next year!!! If you had just decided to become club treasurer then new frame for you, ah well see you next year. Was at Cockenzie last night and found another wee roll up step just for you. PS the club accounts are open for any club member to see, before anybody takes Ross the wrong way.
  7. We willbe out at Cockenzie on the rocks on Sunday afternoon. just outside Edinburgh a couple of miles.
  8. You ok chin up me old peckerwood. Get that credit card out. Mike says he can get a good deal on the new Onza limey frame for you! The gearbox on the van is on its way out £2K plus to fix, make you feel better now?
  9. Oh I feel the laughter and derision at my weakness. But I am GOOD at getting great sections and venues, lots of run ups. What do you think. I/they have a stepped wall made of rocks bigger than these about 8 metres high and 15 metres long, an artificial river bed with a big side and a wee side climbing up next to the wall and the areas in the photos have much more rocks in them now, just run out of energy by nine oclock that night.
  10. It wont let me either with my photos, so its not just me.
  11. I will em them to you and you can do this please club IT yoda.
  12. UPDATE. 1000 ton rock deliverd.(thats 1000 ton) Five sections so far but I am up again to hopefully do another three sections. This will be a championship round with a non championship entry available. Accomodation if required: Rooms on site based on two sharing (two single beds) will be £60 including breakfast and all of the facilities, pool, sauna, climbing walls bar ect. camping/ campervan will be £15 but tents will have to be packed away by 8am. Again full use of the facilities, breakfast can be pre ordered if required (no cost yet but great breakfast served) evening meal will be available in the bar at night or can be pre booked in the resturant for around 7.00pm. Em me your requirements and I will get them confirmed. Pay Glenmore lodge not me or the club. On the day: There will be a mountainbike race, The clan, Airbag, give it a go trials section for people wanting to, on site food vans, stalls and a few other interesting bits. The trial: The trial will be as folows 8 till 9 sign on, 9 trial briefing, 9 till 12 first lap 12 till 2 lunch and play time ( will be asking for some riders to give up 15 to 30 min to help with the give it a go section if required just to show the pubic how its done and help with the riders. if everyone does a wee bit then its less time) 2 till 5 ish second lap and then presentation. may pull time in a bit so we can have presentation earlier. Medals and prizes for first to third in each class plus a couple of random awards for fun. Hopefully have enough obsevers at this one, so no groups. Please try to support this, as it will be a huge success in the future of Scottish trials with all its on site facilities, man made sections spectators. Other riders down south, come up have great holiday in the highlands and enjoy the future of trials! Do Newcastle on the way home the following weekend. Will offer this as British champ venue for next year. Entry forms will be up this week.
  13. Thanks keyboard yoda. Im old and dont really like these things, just an necessary evil to do work.
  14. Sorry cant find link thing but if you go to sky news videos and search for airborne bike, we have first dibs. I have checked the rules at BIU and UCI and cant see anything against it. Dad will have to carry bigger rucksac for all the batteries, but no punctures either. Setting out sections to take a dab is going to be a hard.
  15. Sorry guys, due to being away at the worlds with Aaron till Thursday before and work commitments I will not be able to organise this one. Aviemore will be on the next weekend and can be included in the championship if no one objects and still be a fun event for non club members. (no points)
  16. Hi Due to being away at the worlds with Aaron and work commitments I will not be able to organise Kinlochleven on the 28th of July. Sorry guys, will try to let as many people know asap. Aviemore will be going ahead the following weekend as planned and if no one objects can be counted into the championship for club memebers and still be a fun event for everyone else. It seems to be getting a lot of interest. Details soon.
  17. COC here Thanks to Lewis, Grant, Cammy and Stuart as well as Nevis Range for the tele Handler and the team at Leiths Quarry for all helping out yesterday at the venue. Rock sections: tweaked, Log section: cleared old dead wood and added some more logs and 4 HUGE rocks. Grandstand section is now in front of the big screen and is still to be built next week. NEW rock section on banking above village to be completed if the quarry guys have enough time next week to deliver the mega tons of rock. NEW section below bridge in river. New ish route in section above bridge. (may be out if they finish new rock section) Two up at dam, new routes (ish) with some rock gardening been done and some brashing to give a different end. See you all next week. Quick news flash, I am setting up a trials park near Aviemore with 150 plus ton of the grippiest rock next week for a fun competition on the 4th August. (see Scottish additional round post for more info) this will be different and fun so book a holiday.
  18. Should be good. Set in the grounds of Glenmore lodge 150 ton of rock delivered and set up next week. 70 massive one of grippy (even when wet) boulders and lots of other smaller ones. It will be 4th August at their bike festival day. I believe the Clan are booked, Airbag is booked with many other stalls and demos , not a champ round this year, 80 beds on site with pool, sauna, rock climbimbing, resturant, bar and Glenmore lodge will be putting up prizes for each class. Rates to be discussed for beds but camping on site Saturday night will be okay as long as you are packed up by nine. I will be on site next Wednesday before Fort William to set the big boulders out. They will pack down and put blinding in between the rocks as well. First proper trials park in Scotland and free to use outside the event. Please try to come to this as it will be a champ round next year and will be mega fun.
  19. Hi Tigriss, sorry just been really busy and will be for the next few weeks. I asked my Niece but they are moving flat this term as theirs is to expensive. I will keep asking. If money is tight I can ask one of my friends if they can rent you a room in a one of his many bed and breakfasts he has. They are very basic. Ross was just having a laugh about the girlfriend bit. You will need to get used to the Scottish humour. Ross has an extra sarcasim qualification to nearly Yoda level. (Thats above black belt of sarcasim) I think I have just been sarcastic.

    Van questions

Vans are 70mph on Motorway, 60mph on dual carrage way and 50mph on any other roads as long as you are under 3.5ton gross. I do 30k a year in mine and get a wee van as diesel and the especially the gov are just ripping people off. Car derived vans can do the same speed as cars. I had a long wheel base transit connect that had two seats in the back and I could fit two moto trials bikes in as well as all the gear. If you add seats then you will need to tell your insurance and it will need to be checked that its done correct with correct seats and put your insurance up more. You will need to change the log book as well and under current rules that will be a PITA. So small car derived van is what I would go for.
  21. I will speak to them next week, but it is their bike event and we are invited and the 4th is the date they have given me. The venue is on the road upto the ski slopes.
  22. You have to much time on your hands Ben. When you work for your self you loose track of bank Holidays. They are giving me dinner and a room for the night is the booked part and Lewis is booked for Friday to help at the Bill along with the quarry guys and machine. Most of the rock is getting delivered through the week after and I am only going to advise on placement and some other stuff. I will probably be going back up again at some point.
  23. Sorry its all booked in for Thursday at Aviemore, as I will be at Fort William Friday with Lewis to set up the sections with the machine and the quarry guys. Then sorting out the other sections on the Saturday and maybe Sunday if required. But should be back down the road Saturday night. If you can you are more than welcome along to help. I will have cammy and Stuart with me again as my two are still at School and away that weekend with Mum.
