Hi Ross you can pay a £3 day membership like the lads you brought to Bobs last year no probs. Its not about the money its about two things that have to change this year. 1 Its a royal pain in the A**e having to do all the paper work on the day of the trial as well as everything else I have todo on the day for the sake of taking five minutes to get an entry off like I and everyone else have done in bike comps for the last 30 odd years. 2 I wont be organising a trial for 8 riders like last year all the way up in Kinlochleven or anywhere else this year. So get yer entries in I just run the club under the Federation rules as theirs seem to work ok. I will be there Friday from around 1 setting up including the arena section, so all help most welcome thank you. Hope your ankle isnt to bad and you can heal soon Iain.

kevind replied to BikeTrial Federation's topic in Clubs and Competitions
Ahh another one to add to the Scottish Invasion see you there wolfman. Hookwoods was just brilliant fun, great venue, well organised and there was no hold ups on the M25 on the way home, back in bed by 11.30pm. -
Hi Iain, I didnt get any as I had to observe as Mike hurt his ankle. Dont know if anybody else did. seven of the sections are in a forest with a mix of boulders and rock (grippy even when wet) and tree roots. I put one artificial section in the farm shop car park where we start. Great venue and I am working on Sundays when I can to get new sections and some of last years better. I didnt have any time last year as I was working away and only got two friday nights till darkoclock to sort it out.The farm section will be bigger and better than last year. See you there?

Thanks will get it of in the post asap. The dates on the their webpage are still provisional but somewhere else seem to be agreed. New to this side of things and just dont want waste money organising the trip.

Its okay have fun at the festival, some of the older ones here are talking about going to Radfest as well. It is just so busy trials wise for me and the boys around that period that I dont have a free weekend. This year there will be a min pre entry to events or it isnt worth running that event. Entries will need to be in before the event this year. Any other club does this and you (all riders) will need to do it for both British rounds anyway. I can now have the Fort William as a two day. (dont ask) Please let me know, as most riders are doing the two days anyway. It can be points each day and awards on Sunday only as the British is. I have five club members so far this year. That includes my two and three new riders. Membership forms on the Bike trial Federation Scottish club website. Sunday morning at Kirkliston for a few hours clearing sections if anyone can help? SOMETHING ELSE HAS COME UP SO WONT BE THERE TODAY.
-
Yup I know about British system but we are intending to go to Spain for the BIU and EBU rounds which are back to back weekends, hence the reason I asked. China is cancelled as far as the webpage reports. Still, who do I send it to?
-
sorry Felix was just the "not as" houmorous mood I was in. Problems with permissions now resolved and a few better new sections than last year. More than welcome to come over bed always here if you need one. Will try and make an effort maybe next year if we can. Not been to Germany for a long time
-
Just about to fill in Aarons for this year. Who do we send it to please?
-
Thanks for your sarcastic input. (must be taking notes from Vettel I didnt hear the message, well I didnt understand the message, ahh well sorry. Brilliant way to say F off its my championship) Hope life is well and would love to come over but as Germany is now running Europe, we all live on bailout money, but only IF the banks feel that they can lend us some of it after they have paid their bonuses! We will hopefully be in Spain at the EBU round that weekend.

It was dated before they split the british and radfest this year. It was also to tie in with Lewis's do that he said the Clan were coming to on the Saturday. But now we will be in Spain till just before the event and also it clashes with the world motor bike trials at Penrith. I will have a chat with Lewis. and see whatcan be done. Only if you all promiss to come as know one arrived last year!! If I move it a week on then you have Newcastle city centre two day British the week after. Looked at the dates around and other things and it would not suit me to re organise around that date, so the delinquents will just have to be delinquent.

Its okay we have had areply from Kirkliston and we should be good to go. Also the original date of theSaturday the 18th is back to being okay as well. Will be going up this Sunday morning only (before the motorbikes come although they should all be away at a trial) to clean and layout the new sections I have found, Any help gratef**kly recieved) Should be up around ten but only if its not under 2 metres of snow. I spoke with Ian and we were ok. I just didnt want to lose another round and be down to Five for the year. Bob has been all reorganise to cater for their big schoolboy round later in the year, so it would have been different. I should be going out there next Tuesday as i am in the area working if I have time. So its all good. The trial is not in the quarry as I cant get permission from them, so its all in the trees oppisite the farm and behind the old house.
-
Sorry guys but no reponse from phone or email from land factor for kirkliston. (last year was no hassle and the farm loved the event and want us back). If I have not heard anything by end of this week then I will have to look at Bob Macgregor on the SUNDAY the 19th if available. OR does any one have any other sites we can use please?
-
Put Tryalls on Aarons bike and he goes through a pair nearlly every three or four rides which is about a week. Last years Tryalls lasted for a while. Maybe a new foam or something but wont be getting any more.

Not allowed quarrie for comp, ELF and softy at its best. lawyers will be burned at the stake when I am dictator and then the good people of earth with trials bikes shall play anywhere I like. Found a new section in the woods that has a huge down to some sharp pointy bits just for you oot of control experts. Been very busy but will try to get photies over at the weekend

After a few em to Kirkliston land owner and still no response. So I havnt discussed dates with the farm until I get a yes or no. Will keep trying. I will have to call a deadline on this soon and try to get another venue sorted if he hasnt responded. Last year it was no problem. Secret venue is advancing but we didnt meet up because of the snow last week. I should be passing the venue in the next month or so to survey a wind site in the Black Isle, so we will see. Sorry about this but S&*t happens all the time.
-
Just a quick update. The first round at Kirkliston. I have been asked to change the date, as the farm had given me the wrong date. I will have a meeting today with them. I am still waiting on conformation from the estate manager as well. Hopefully all sorted next week. Everything else is sorted for the other dates. Sorry for the confusion but I only got notified end of last week.

Shipley Glen Comp Practice. 16/2/2013 Saturday.
kevind replied to BradJohnson's topic in Member Organised Rides
It all depends on who is in charge at the council. We have seen a huge shift in attitude here in East Lothian regarding sport and help the council is giving, Comps on their land, support for a BMX/skate park with hopefully a large fixed trials park next to it. They also gave temporary permission and supplied windfall trees and big plastic baskets for the guys to ride on. The local council warden and police have been fully behind it, as they know that by doing this they get them off the street and are seen by the voters to be activly doing something useful to help the "youths". BUT it only takes one " my life is miserable so I fully intend to stop anybody else having fun" arsehole to complain and if the law or the easy way out council will act. Hopefully the local council will inform them selfs of what trials and generally the great attitude of trials riders is and you keep the land to practice and compete on. we have been down a few times and have had a great comp day on a great bit of land. 99.9% of the public that day stopped and enjoyed theshow including that big pack of scouts out for the day. Please contact the council with a positive attitude to the need to practice and not in the town centres and good press they can generate from having local youths developing into world level riders. Thats what we did up here including positive reports to the local press stating how they were helping promote sport and the next generation of trials stars. I was angry with the lack of help I got at the start but have realised its a game and they hate bad press and a new positive leader has made adifference.I may even vote for him for the first time ever!!!! or maybe not. It takes work but GOOD luck . Give me a address and I will send them something from the Scottish team. I will miss out the bit about the 0.1% person that we increasingly have to live with. -
There is aBritish/Scottish championship on the 7/8th weekend in September at Bob Macgregor trials Academy in Ayrshire. Not to far from Stranraer Ferry if you are wanting a wee road trip in September. Although its a British it still caters for all abilities, so get an entry in or just come and camp for the weekend on site and have aplay on Saturday and watch on the Sunday?
-
It is located by Craigies farm shop (google it for address) between Kirkliston and South Queensferry. The bikes are usually at a different part of theQuarrie so just bring ear plugs moany face. Just dont know about the snow still lying for the push bikes (but should be good under the trees) but just get oot and play. Port Seton tommorrow affty. Weather forecast ok for now. Ross will be having a work party later in the next few months as there is some really great big rock formations in the wood that are just covered with dead wood that I didnt have time to clear last year. Cant use the quarry for event. But there will be chain saws and big sharp man tools to play with. You need to invite him in for dinner with Caron and the boys for the full version!
