Oil, oil filter, sparks, ht leads and tyres done today, next week Its cambelt + idle bearings + tensioner and possibly water pump and dizzy / rotor if mine look a bit old
-
The old tyres must've been snug enough as it is then I'm guessing. Wondering whether they've put the right wheels on the right end of the car too, my dad got the tyres fitted as I was working until 7. Got 7j front and 8j rears, I'm thinking if they've had all wheels off at the same time they mightve got mixed up?
-
So this is a major PITA. I'm lucky as robin said tomorrow isn't long away but I have another dilemma, I'm 5miles from home and the tyres rub badly to the point it smells like burning rubber after a 2minute journey. The shop wants the tyres back in good nick to send back, do I risk the drive home and back tomorrow? Surely 215/45/17 can't be too far from the 225/40/17 that were on before? Edit* No wonder the f**ker rubs
-
Tyre shop ordered 215/45/17 rather than 215/40/17 so I've got to put up with rubbing on half lock until they fit the correct size tomorrow -.-

Such a beautiful car
-
Jardo - can I have the link to the machine polisher from before? Also what pads / compounds would you use if I wanted to do most of the car in a day? Also if you're up for it and after seeing your work i'd happily give you some beers or something if you could give me a hand and show me the ropes so to say

That white one is probably one of the nicest cars I've seen

£3 I think in this pub, spent about £40ish on shots from what I've been told, not bad between 4 of us when they're all buying their own drinks too
-
Surprisingly not no drugs on the night, short walk to a single pub haha. I was paying £4 a pint though and I've been told that I did Infact buy a few rounds of shots haha
-
Well I usually only have 4-5 pints and maybe a few shots but I managed to spend about £100odd on Saturday and I don't think I bought any rounds, didn't fare too badly though I handle drink quite well and wasn't even hanging the next day
-
Drank the most I've had in literally about 2 years last night, also the first time I've drunk with my lady friend and we've almost been together 2 years good night and had both a maccas breakfast and I went back for a bigmac

+1 on the Samsung ssd, I've got the 830 pro and it's been faultless

Parking my car along a kerb and one of them was leaning into the road leaving a scrape on the otherwise imaculate wheel.

So cleaned car inside and out, got bosch aero blades as the oem wipers flap about at 70+. Next on the list is overhaul the ignition (got brand new oem ht leads with the car unfitted) so need dizzy, rotor and some plugs. After than changing all the fluids and filters and fitting braided hoses with new pads (maybe discs too? Current ones dont have much of a lip). Getting rear tyres done soon as have one conti and one nankang in 235/40/17 and I'd rather the "proper" 245/35/17, fronts will be done next month. Anything else I've missed in terms of giving the car a proper service?
-
Yeah I live in crowthorne so drive through finch to camberly, then yately then to henley all down little lanes, I find I can't actually "push" the car because by the end of second gear I'm above 70 and I'm not a big fan of speeding "just incase"

So I sorted my insurance this morning and took a 10mile detour on my journey to work (it's only 5miles to begin with) just so I could cruise down some b roads. Prawn and Jardo: anywhere nice to drive around berks? I'm basically in bracknell so near enough to you two
-
So I bought the mr2 last night and i'm loving every second of it! My temp cover ran out at 8pm and I won't be able to sort the insurance proper until after work tomorrow. I got used to the clutch in the mr2 so when I jumped back into the city rover I almost put my foot through the floor! Needs a clean + polish, boot catch needs aligning (was moved up a bit for the carbon lid that was on there), 3 new tyres (currently it has 3 cheap shit Nankang and a brand new conti due to puncture) and put my sub in behind the passenger seat. Unsure about changing the exhaust yet as its quite nice as it is when you open it up and doesn't blow, I'll probably change it when It starts to corrode. Only one picture thus far for some reason
-
Viewing the mr2 tomorrow, cannot wait I've even transferred money so if it all seems good I can atleast put down a deposite
-
I turned 21 a few weeks ago and still get Id'd everywhere I go including a bar I used to work in, I hope I'm still getting id'd in 10 years time though
-
So I've just done a few insurance quotes as I'm viewing the Mr2 on Saturday with the intent to purchase it. 3 companies will insure me for £750 with £250 excess and legal/breakdown/windscreen etc. that's about £400 less than I'm paying for my 1.4 city rover
-
Xfx psu's are rebranded silverstone psu's which are regarded as some of the best. Corsair were good when they used silverstone as their oem but for the <650w I believe they use a different oem

Relating to my post in the angry thread we managed to arrange cover so I'm wrapped up in bed at home
-
Chundering from every orifice at work and we're understaffed as it is so I've gotta work through :/ we're busy and are due both an audit and a visit from the regional manager so today should be fun
-
So the mr2 I'm looking at has nanking tyres so if I do end up buying it on Saturday then first step is get some decent rubber. Can anyone recommend decent tyres in 235/30/17 and also 225/30/17?

Drop gap to grass and do a skid on the rear wheel, everyone knows skids are where it's at
