  1. Why on earth are you bumping topics? It's not really necessary.
  2. Thanks Revolver, for making Scotland sound shite at least we don't have riots... Edit: We are probably too drunk to start/organise a riot in the first place, but still!
  3. With some additions I believe...
  4. If the tying it to a car method doesn't work, buy this, and then watch a video about it on YouTube

    Crashes

Same here, what site did you find these videos on? On second thoughts, I don't really want to watch some dullards riding about without lids on trying to look cool/hard, it's almost as if they purposely go too large in order to crash and hurt themselves, and potentially putting others at risk of being hit by a flying BMX.
  6. You are getting along really well! Something I definitely want to do in the future when I buy my first house. Have you also taken into consideration doing some insulation work within the roof/walls? Might be worth doing if you have the budget/inclination to do it.

    Shoes

These shoes have been mentioned before, got any links to where they can be purchased?
  8. There was some bonding on the bolt when I took it off, guess I'm just more manly than you, or I got a badly built one...
  9. I have found that they take a couple of ride to 'bed-in' or something. Recently I bought a new set and they were slient for a couple of rides and then they started to make lots of noise. Even when they didn't make lots of noise the grip was still great.
  10. I regard to taking the pin off, I did it by holding the pin in a pair of pliers (but you could use a vice) and using a cheap pocket multi-tool that had a screw driver set that included some Torx attachments. Don't know the exact size but it is slightly smaller than the ones used as disc brakes rotor bolts.
  11. I've previously used the Trialtech Sprung Tensioner and it is very good. I've switched to the Rohloff, and it is just as good (maybe a little bit better). If you do go for the Rohloff you'll have to remove the pin from it to ensure that there is enough chain wrap: Link.

    Shoes

I'm currently using the Shimano AM41's they are pretty good, although a little uncomfortable when you start using them but that goes away after a couple of rides. Got a pair of Five Ten FreeRider on order at the moment and they are meant to be the best in terms of grip and lasting more than a month.

    9/11

As much as I enjoyed that drawing, I still stand by my comment. Religion has screwed the whole world up, and it always has, and I'm not trying to troll people who have a faith. All these people fighting over who are 'God's Chosen People' and killing whoever isn't to ensure their place in heaven. Utter bollocks.

I would call it all an act of God...
  15. I either go for in a cupboard or scattered all over the floor for some obstacle course fun in the morning...
  16. Sorry what? It's just a 10k... After watching that video the race looks a lot easier, only issue is the 8ft wall. If you are going to do it I would definitely recommend going fast at the start to avoid queueing at each obstacle for ages.
  17. You've got it in one, as far as I know. The longer the cranks the easier it will be to pedal as it added more leverage. I'm not sure how big a difference it would make to getting on the back wheel as I have always stuck with the same length of crank (170mm on 24" and 26")
  18. Cheers for the replies so far. Even if they are shipped from the factory with little or no lubrication when I tried to turn the cranks by hand there was a lot of resistance from the freewheel. Gave the pawls a light spray with oil and they turned a lot better than after my rainy ride. Also when I did open the freewheel up some of the pawls were not engaging the ratchet and now they seem to be better.
  19. I don't know what the exact problem is, sounds like you have fried your graphics or motherboard although I am no computer wizard. The motherboard beeps you mention mean something: linky Although it depends what BIOS your are running, the constant beeping usually means memory/motherboard error.
  20. Hi all, Basically I bought, and started running, an Echo SL 108 freewheel about 2-3 months ago. All was good. Went out in wet (and a little muddy) conditions last week and when I was heading home I noticed that the freewheel wasn't sounding too good...ended up walking it the rest of the way home. Took it apart at the weekend to find that the bearings and the pawls were completely dry and looking a little worse for wear. The lockring was completely tight when I took it apart. Is this a common issue with the Echo SL 108 in wet conditions or was there not enough factory lubrication in the bearings/pawls? I am going to rebuild it but am wondering what lubrication to go with, oil(GT-85 or similar) or some grease, I'm inclined to go with oil but my dad says different. Answers on a postcard please!
  21. ...or if you're North of the Border and want a real challenge: The Mighty Deerstalker, you've got to wear a tweed outfit aswell! The only problem with the Survival of the Fittest is clambering over that 8ft wall after running 10K, tempted to sign up but I want to do it all and not pussy out at the last hurdle.
  22. Watched this on the iPlayer last night! I had seen a couple of clips of this show before, actually a few years ago back in my RMPS class we had a pretty cool teacher. Glad I've finally seen it all. Well worth a watch!
  23. I use these pads and they are awesome, lots of other riders use them and would probably recommend them. I have heard good things about these pads too. If you're wanting something a little cheaper you could go for these. There is also this thread where a few pads have been reviewed.
  24. Top man! It's working great now thanks!
  25. Hey all! Having some issues with my bike. When I moved from using a rear freewheel to a Hope Pro 2 Hub, I also switched from a Trialtech to a Rohloff Speedhub Chain Tensioner. Whenever I pedal hard the chain skips but it doesn't when I pedal along the road. Took it to my LBS they had not idea. The chain has a good bit of tension in it. Set-up: Hope Pro 2 with 14t Sprocket Rohloff Speedhub Tensioner Front 18t Sprocket Image if it helps, sorry for the terrible quality: http://www.flickr.com/photos/53685602@N07/6080094158/
